I have never given any company a 1 star, but this store is truly awful. The salespeople here only care to make a sale, and nothing else. They are not knowledgeable about the product that they sell, and they do not want to help you with issues post sale. I asked one of the sales to help me pick out an oven, and he quickly pointed me to the most expensive item on the floor. Despite his pushiness, my wife and I loved what we saw, and decide to go through with the purchase. A week later is when the problems started. First, there were issues coordinating a delivery date. I told the salesperson I wanted a Monday delivery; only to find out after the sale that they don't delivery on Mondays. Then during the delivery, I am told my new oven needs a 220v plug (which is not common), and in order to complete the installation, I would need to call an electrician to run extra power from the main breaker. This was an expensive surprise. Another month goes by, and I find out that the free dishwasher that came with the oven (it's a promotion from the manufacture) is not the correct one (of course, I got a cheaper version instead). I called the store to tell them about this; spoke to Pat Versado (supposedly a manager), and he does not want to help. He makes one excuse after another, tells me this is what it is, without even investigating my claim. Every time I talk to him, it turns into a shouting match. and now two months have gone by, and my issue is unresolved. I understand that no one is perfect, and I expect companies to make mistakes from time to time. But when a company is given a chance to fix a client issue, and they don't listen nor care, then they don't deserve your patronage. Save yourself some trouble. Go anywhere else; just don't come here. read more

I purchased an extended warranty for my Kitchenaid dishwasher. The dishwasher needed repair. Scheduled a service tech to come out and diagnose the problem. Get service call and have to wait for part and then schedule repair - that part, from 1st call to repair took 13 days. Tech does his diagnosed repair and leaves. Within 10 minutes I realize machine is still turning itself on and off and constantly going into cancel mode on its own. Call cust serv right back and am told to call in the morning to reschedule another diagnostic visit and likely that will be another week - call this morning and they give me an appointment 10 days away for yet another diagnostic call! I rebuke and say it is going to be the board that needs replacement ( which should have been considered in the first place since the problem has been that the machine will not run a cycle just keeps canceling and it won't shut down but keeps restarting and canceling on its own) and will they bring a replacement board with them. No they won't - they will just come and take a look again - if they decide it is a board that will be another 5 days to get the part and wherever they can fit me in after that - likely yet another week past that according to their schedule looks like at this time. Of course despite not successfully repairing my machine the first time they will not consider my availability ( ie concrete travel plans etc) in trying to accommodate me. So where is the customer service accommodation in this scenario? Motto: We screw up - You keep waiting. The tech did not run a check cycle while he was here - that would have negated the need to go through another separate diagnostic appointment at the very least. Looks like PC Richards will not be where I go to replace my refrigerator and stove next month. UPDATE....UPDATE....UPDATE....UPDATE....UPDATE 8/10/2019: After posting my review I was contacted by Diana S. Social Media Customer Service Manager for P.C. Richards who offered to look into my complaint. 1st let me say that Diana S. proved to be all that a Cust. Serv. Rep should be. Without delay Ms. S. Took a look at my service history and it was decided that the next step was to deem my dishwasher not repairable at this point. My extended warranty allowed me a new replacement dishwasher of equal value to the one I had purchased. This would of course fulfill and terminate my warranty. 7 years into my 10 year warranty. A day and a 1/2 after Ms. S. got involved I have ordered a new dishwasher and purchased the extended warranty for it - dishwasher to be del. in 3 days. Thanks to Ms. S this all happened faster than my initial service call! Ms. Diana S. Social Media Customer Service Manager gets and an honorable mention goes out to the Paramus store for today's quick and easy service. read more

Bought a washer and a dryer with delivery and installation. First, the driver never showed up - or rather claimed, we were not, even though my husband was at home and had other deliveries. After over an hour on the phone with a very rude customer service, been repeatedly put on long holds, and then a request unless they can still deliver as signed, were promised a delivery later in the day. Waited for another 3 hours. Nobody showed up. When we called, they told us all drivers went home. When we asked to cancel, the service person refused to hear it and continued pushing delivery on other dates, then slammed the phone down. When I called on Monday to confirm the cancellation, I was told that it was scheduled for delivery later in the week (on a working day when nobody is at home, which we would have never confirmed). Took me another 16 min, 12 of them on hold, and speaking to 3 different people to cancel the order. read more

We actually were on a mission to purchase cell phones and after leaving Verizon, where we were unsuccessful, we decided to stop at the store in Paramus to look at TVs. We had a very large boxy one and it was time for it to go. Our sales rep was Mr. Massop who was the ultimate professional and very knowledgeable about the products. The purchase went smoothly and a delivery was scheduled for the very next day plus they took our old TV away for a small fee which was well worth it. This was our very first purchase at PC Richards and it will not be the last. Our salesperson certainly made our visit a memorable one. This company definitely knows how to treat their customers and I was surprised that the delivery would take place so quickly. We absolutely love our TV. read more

Terrible servicing department. I purchased a GE Cafe oven from the store and it suddenly stopped working in late Oct, the fuse blows every time we start the oven. We thought it was electrical so called in an electrician, but problem was the oven. We called customer service and could not get a technician for two weeks, they came diagnosed it as needing two parts, waited three weeks for parts to come in, then two weeks for another appt. they came yesterday and the new parts did not fix the issue. Meanwhile, no oven for Thanksgiving, no oven for weeks. We called customer service back, and apparently we need to have another technician come to do another evaluation. I have no idea when I will have a workable oven again, but it won't be in time for Christmas. On top of that customer service was very rude. When they tell you they stand behind what they sell - don't believe them! read more

I called the service center and not the store, but I don't see an option for reviewing the service center. 10 days ago our freezer broke. We called on a Friday and service was scheduled for Wednesday. Our tech went to the wrong house and they couldn't correct it until Thursday morning. The tech spent two minutes looking at the freezer saying he has to order parts and they will be in touch. Last night during the super bowl, the fridge portion also died. So I called this morning. The parts wouldn't be ready for the freezer until Thursday, they aren't guaranteed to fix issues with the fridge portion, and I have an infant whose food requires refrigeration. Mike and Starlyn helped me. They offered me a credit for a new fridge. Not the price of our fridge today, a brand new fridge. I'm waiting for them to call back so I can go to the store and work it out, but I'm beyond thrilled on how courteous and polite they were. read more

A shopping experience here is comparable to car shopping. Time consuming and painful. If you're a woman, be prepared to be flattered until you make the deal, then expect it to fall flat. Been here numerous times with my husband and experiences were flawless, deals made, calls returns. Me, nothing. Made a simple purchase for an electronic accessory, because it's an ELECTRONIC STORE, and they were unable to produce an undamaged product in 3 weeks. Not special order or anything crazy. Try calling, you get put on hold for 10 minutes at a time, REPEATEDLY. Leave a message, you don't get a call back. After agreeing to wait, after an assistant manager tried to help, and unfulfilled promises, I canceled my order. Such a shame. Parking lot, at best, has 7/8 cars in it at a time and numerous salesmen standing around inside on their phones. You wonder why people shop at big box stores and online for a more pleasant and fast experience? But somehow they can deliver a grill and refrigerator in day. Go figure. Peace out PC Richards. read more

This could have been one of the most painful experiences with any company...ever. Period. I have been without a refrigerator for OVER a month now. I can barely write this without wanting to cry. We have a full warrantee on this Samsung refrigerator and yet they keep coming back to replace the "faulty compressor". We have had 4 visits to our home with NO resolution. No one has been helpful. Yesterday, I went into the store CRYING because I have not been able to get help and several people have been rude. I spoke to a manager who said they will give us a refrigerator to have "in the meantime" and I waited all morning for them to come. They told my husband 7-11am. Well, now it's 3-6pm. I sat here all morning waiting. Now I get to waste my afternoon too! Run from this store, company and anyone associated with it. They are disgusting! read more

I was very pleased with their delivery, installation and the care that was given with removal of my old machines and my home. The customer service at this store is excellent! After 1 year of having the washer/dryer the dryer no longer dries nor gets even remotely warm! Called store directly, they can't help, have to call the repair dept. I call - the girl on the phone was nasty with no personality to deal with the public. I bought the 5-year warranty so this should be easy right??? Wrong! She has to call the outsourced repair vendor Dependable. She tells me Monday morning they will come. They will call in morning with time frame. Monday comes, they call and say they will be here within the hour that was at 11:00. By 1130 am no one shows nor calls. I call PC Richards repair dept. First call 30 mins on hold, then disconnected. 2nd call, on hold about 12 mins. Girl says oh they will be there with in an hour! I tell her no, reschedule he told me an hour 3 hours ago. Reset the appt. That day they didn't call to give time, I called them. Same, answer within the hour... They come... 2 parts are broke! He had no timeline on when the parts will come in nor when they will come back. Nor do they know if the 2 parts will be approved. So why did I pay for the 5-year warranty???? 3 weeks... Dear PC Richard Management, The only reason you are even receiving a star is because it is required on Yelp. I am (after this experience that verb is now used to be) a multi-generational loyal customer. My parents used to shop at PC Richard so I followed in their foot steps when I became a home owner. I have spent tens of thousands of dollars over the years at various stores. Most recently, I purchased a suite of Samsung washer/dryer. The dryer started acting up at the beginning of this year and I placed a call to the service department. This is where the nightmare began. This company has had me take the day off SEVEN times by scheduling repair calls only to find out that they sent the technician out with the wrong part or the new unit they promised was also defective. After going to the store, the company decided that they would switch out the unit because apparently no one in their entire service department can figure out how to procure the correct part for my dryer. They originally scheduled to have the unit delivered on Thursday of last week. Again, I took the day off to receive delivery of the new unit. When the delivery men arrived, they told me that when they took the "new" unit off the truck that the door latch was broken. So after taking yet another day off, my issue with the dryer was unresolved yet again. I called the service center who passed the buck to the store. After speaking with the Paramus store manager, I was told that they would deliver a new unit on Sunday. I stayed home on this gorgeous day to receive delivery. The delivery men arrived, they took another "new" unit off the truck, and this time they told me that the dryer drum was broken. I don't know about you, but I value my time because we only get but so much of it in life. This company has THE WORSE customer service that I have EVER encountered in my ENTIRE ADULT LIFE. I own a small business and if I treated my clients in the manner that I have been treated, my child would be homeless. I cannot fathom why after seven separate tries, my dryer is still not working. You need to do better!!!! Sincerely, A former customer and credit card holder. read more

We paid $35 to have someone from PC Richards come and measure our fridge to ensure that it would fit in the space before it was delivered. He said that it would fit, but when it was delivered, we now cannot open our dishwasher, because it doesn't fit against the handle of the freezer. He said he had measured the handle, but obviously not. When they removed the old fridge, the scraped the side of our new home, freshly painted. The men apologized and said someone would contact us immediately to resolve that. Two months later, no one has called. They had to reschedule the delivery date three times, and my husband and I took days off each time, only to find out at the last moment that they couldn't deliver the fridge. For our difficulty, the store manager said he would refund our $175 installation charge. Two months later, no refund. We've called back countless times, always the same excuses, nothing refunded, corrected, or done. We will not be returning here for our next purchases. Very disappointed. read more

After a bit of negotiating a deal was struck for a washer / dryer. The delivery people were fine and on time, but when I had a problem - the dryer's control board went dead - I couldn't get a salesman or manager on the phone. I called at least 5 times and not once did I get a call. I also was promised a rebate form to be mailed to me the next day but it's now over 1 month later and no rebate form has been mailed yet. The cell number on the salesman's card which he said to call anytime is blurred so it can't be read, and he's never called me back. When I received the replacement dryer - yes, I had to wait home twice more, once for a service call and again for the replacement delivery, I tried to call the manager to thank him for calling up the night before (he really didn't tell us anything other then to wait home between 9 and 1), he also never called me back. So my evaluation of PC Richards: they're happy to sell you and then want nothing to do with you. Oh yeah, one more thing. I got in the mail 2 days ago a balance due which is not true and had to make 3 calls and finally threaten to cancel the entire charge to get someone to take care of this ridiculous mistake. read more

I have never experienced such horrible service.! Once I walked in the door of the showroom in Paraumus, NJ, the salesmen were like vultures to get a sale. The salesman with assisted me must have just started working there; very little experience and lacked the knowledge of the products. I left the store with the manager offering me an excellent price on the two items. I later called and ordered, set the date, and was given a super 3-hour. The only problem is that ONE of my items came during that time and the second one was on a second truck, which was scheduled for the end of the day!!!! I did not find this out until the guys were leaving from delivering the first item...I made a few calls and was told that my range was on another truck that was a few minutes away and would be at my home shortly. Well 6 hours later, I am still waiting for that second piece! Not only that, but now that the one piece is in its place, the second piece will not fit through the entrance to the kitchen. I am extremely disgusted from the time I walked into the store in Paramus, NJ, to the customer service and BS these people give you. The only thing good was the price, but I'm sure, if I did enough searching, I could have found at another reputable store. The choice is yours, but for me........NEVER AGAIN! read more

So I needed a new air conditioner because the one we had crapped out after 10 years. If my father taught me anything, it's do your research on your own ahead of going to the store. I knew I needed a unit that has 12,000BTU and I was happy with a Friedrich I already had so I was at a good starting point. Amazon had it for a bit more than what I was looking for, so I decided to driving around. Walked into the store and was met by a nice gentleman and I told him I didn't need any help. It was like vultures circling around waiting for you to make a decision. I saw the model I wanted, noticed it had a $60 rebate and I thought I can't beat that. It's a window unit so I don't need it installed, and I had space in the car to buy it. However, I waited a few days to see if I could find it cheaper somewhere else. I walked back in on a Monday and went right to it and told whoever was around "I want that one". He tried to sell me on some other model and I cut him off. I said "I want that one". I think he was shocked that I knew what I wanted and then he started asking me questions "Do you have a 110 service?" I said "If I knew it wasn't going to work in my house I wouldn't want that one, ring me up." A few minutes goes by and he looks at me and goes "that was the easiest transaction to do, you knew what you wanted." I wanted to say something snarky, but they hadn't brought my unit out yet. All in all it wasn't a bad experience, I went home with an AC for $60 cheaper than I thought I did and they made a few bucks off of me. read more

When you walk in, there are about 20 salespeople waiting to talk to you. Best to be prepared with the exact product you want and to talk to the someone over the phone the day before. Make sure to bring the flier/online printout with the discount price; the ones in the stores don't show the flier price. If you're having an AC installed, the AC might be cheaper than the installation ($300 with parts and tax included); but they do a good job and are quick. I just purchased 4 kitchen appliances from P.C. Richards on Rte 17 south in Paramus and once again they did not fail me. I buy everything there for a reason. The salesmen are fabulous. I did not get the name of the manager that helped on Saturday but he was a huge help too. They are also available for communication any time you need them by phone if you have a question. Baffled as I write this because I have a pretty simple problem that they cannot solve. Purchased a laptop computer last Saturday. They didn't have the item at the Paramus store, but accepted my payment and guaranteed the item would be in the store Monday at 3 pm. On Monday the item was still not there for me to pick up. Eventually they returned my call and told me to come back and pick up the computer. On THURSDAY my husband drove there and they still did not have item. On Friday I spoke with the store manager and corporate office who still have not been able to explain why this is happening nor solve this problem. I have been told from the beginning, multiple times that this computer is at other store locations and that Paramus personnel would obtain it for me. It has been one week and I do not have computer. No one can explain the reason for this, except to engage in multiple rounds of useless circular logic. I do not think that I should consider, as suggested by store employee Andrew, to "exchange" for a different item. I purchased THIS item already at the sale price and I WONT STOP until I receive exactly what I paid for. I need this computer for work. In fact I needed it this past week and now behind with several work tasks. Everytime I call (if I get through) I speak to someone new and have to tell the ENTIRE STORY from the beginning again and again, to no avail. Between phone calls, trips to store and work tasks piling up, the amount of time I have wasted on this matter is just ubsurd. We purchased our kitchen appliances, 2 TV's and our vacuum cleaner at this store but unfortunately this will be the last time we shop there. read more

WHEN THEY OFFER YOU THE REPAIR CONTRACT, RUN THE OTHER WAY! It is the most mismanaged program in existence. Last Saturday I was told the repair man would be at my home form 11-2. At 6pm he finally called to see if he could come. I had to reschedule for the following Tuesday. He came, and of course couldn't do the job properly. PC Richard then hired a third party to come today. Again I was told the person would be there between 11-1. It's now 3:45 and he finally wants to come. When I asked if he could come at 5 he responded "I don't want to"! So I must make another appointment! The repair man feels its ok for me to be inconvenienced all day, but of course he can't have a small inconvenience. I guess they feel like I have nothing better to do than to spend all day waiting for them, and that the time frames they give are utterly meaningless! I bought a front loading washer a few years ago at the Paramus Store. I also purchased the service agreement. A few weeks ago, we noticed that during the final spin cycle, the noise was unbelievable, even with the laundry room door closed. We called for service, the repairman came, asked what the problem was, said he would order parts and left. He was in the house for five minutes. The parts were ordered, they called to schedule an appointment. We made the appointment for the following Saturday, because we all work, and I had taken the day off for the five minute appointment 10 days earlier. Saturday morning came, and they called to say they would need to reschedule, as this was a two man job! And they did not do this job on Saturday. When told this was unacceptable, they finally agreed to come the next Saturday, with two repairmen. They did say, they needed to drop off the parts. They left two HUGE boxes in my driveway and did not even ring the doorbell. We had to carry them in the front door because we could not get either of our cars out of the garage without moving the boxes!!!! Well, today came, the man called to say he would be here between 11-2. Ok. 2:30 came, he called to say, he was waiting for the other repairman and would be here between 3-5. Guess what? He just called to say we needed to call customer service to reschedule. It is now 5:05 and when we call, we find dispatch closes at 5. So we need to call back on Monday. I really can't help but wonder if we were paying for parts and labor, would we be treated differently????? RUN, do not walk away from PC Richards!!!! read more

Buying appliances here is fine if everything gets delivered in perfect condition AND you use your own appliance installers. DO NOT use PC Richard for any installations. They will work hard as sales guys to close the deal, I give them credit for that. As far as installation and post sales/service they are terrible. DO NOT buy an extended warranty on anything from them. Trust me, you will not want them servicing your appliances anyway. My refrigerator was delivered with a scratch across the face of the door. The sales guy, Phil, gave me the run around for weeks, saying he reached out to the manufacturer and all we can do is wait for their response. After a month of waiting and playing phone tag, he said he will call them again to check the status. A month and a half later, they finally take a door off a new unit in their store and brought it to install. Additionally, I paid $133 for them to come and install the trim kit. The "techs" spent an hour and a half playing games trying to get the trim kit installed. They popped the wood cabinetry paneling off and scratched the finish in a couple of areas because they had no idea what they were doing. They gave up and said that the trim kit can't work because my brand new cabinetry was not level and there was not enough support to install the trim kit properly. They told me to have the cabinetry supplier come and take a look. The cabinetry supplier told me to forget PC Richard and he sent his professional appliance installer that he always uses and his guys were in and out in 30 minutes. They installed the side by side column fridge and freezer with the trim kit perfectly with no alterations needed to my brand new cabinetry. If you are looking for a professional installer in the NJ/NY area you can call Mark at MDL Contracting Inc. at 973-332-3562. I called PC Richard and talked to the manager, Jack, to request a refund of $133 they charged my card for the failed install. He said he would need to check with the warehouse guys and call me back on Monday. I expressed my frustration of the entire experience and all I wanted was the $133 refund and then I am done with PC Richard. He said he was unable to refund me until he gets approval from the warehouse. He's a manager that can't make the right call?
