This store is in a plaza where you need to pay attention to drivers who don't check their blindspots. I pulled into this parking lot at around 6 pm. I had to honk at a car that felt like backing out without checking a thing. When I left, a similar situation happened with another car. I already felt that this wouldn't be a store that I'd frequent often if I am fearing for my life trying to find a parking spot. Anyway, I backed into a spot across from the main entrance. I walked in. It does feel like the IGA that I used to frequent. It simply has Dollarama merchandise. There was lots of Easter merchandise. From chocolate Easter bunnies, to baskets for your treats, you can find everything here. One of the few items that you can get for $1 are one-litre bottles of Pepsi. There were many when I was there. If you are looking for mason jars, this store has cases of them. The catch is that they aren't wide-mouth jars. Rather, they have bottlenecks. If you're looking for the former, you're out of luck. I liked the colourful planters at this store. You can do some cool gardening and save some money by getting your supplies at this store. You can get seeds and soil. Done! This store does not have any self-checkout kiosks. I lined up at the checkout area that moved fairly well. There was one person doing everything. He was pleasant. I paid with a credit card. I tapped and was done. I grabbed my items, wished him a great evening, and left. It's a decent store. Poor drivers backing out of parking spots that scare me. (134)

The store is of medium size so the aisles are pretty close together, not leaving a lot of space in between.The store is insanely busy during the holidays and numerous popular items are always out of stock. I wish a bigger Dollarama could open in the area as there is clearly a demand and a bigger store is needed to hold more inventory. There is also no room for self checkouts, which would speed up the check out process. Lots of parking and easy to get there through transit. Never had an issue with the employees there.

Styles are far ranging and include cute and elegant, modern and traditional styles, and they carry lots of different sizes so you are likely to find something to suit your taste. I personally only buy dishwasher safe / microwaveable ceramics (so I actually use them) and a lot of the stock they have fits that criteria. The rest of the store is a whole labyrinth of home goods like beauty, kitchen tools, home organization, snacks, and craft goods. Again some rare finds exist, so it is well worth a look. I personally bought calligraphy stuff that was cheaper and more convenient here than buying it online, and they had related supplies like writing pads, practice paper, etc. The Japanese trinket/souvenir section stands out to me because you can get things that are rare to chance upon elsewhere. The ceramic darumas are well priced, and I've bought other cute traditional figurines there. Overall there's a lot to see in this store, to the point where it feels overwhelming to browse all sections. I keep my visits targeted and short so I don't wear myself out looking at 200 pairs of similar looking chopsticks. Also, sometimes the prices in this store are questionable, but I browse knowing overall it's fair (case in point for weird pricing - tiny plate $2, significantly larger medium size plate for $2.25). I don't live close by so I come around whenever I'm in the area.

'Elena', an employee who lives on minimum wage, was too miserly to offer any discount and straight out rudely denied me with silly, invalided excuses. I've never had an employee refuse a discount at winners/marshalls/homesense for a product that clearly has some form of wear or damage, but that nasty-faced woman couldn't follow store policy. I went to winners across the mall and a normal caucasian male employee with a professional attitude immediately offered me a valid discount when he saw the scratches on the product. Regardless, I returned the product entirely. P.S. I am frankly bewildered as to where these workers on pennies get attitudes from and the audacity to be openly inappropriate in front of customers. They aren't the owners of the stores, they sweep floors and stock shelves. It might be because I'm too dignified of a paying customer, perhaps I should start treating these cashiers the way other customers treat them instead of being friendly and polite, since that's not being returned. It seems there's a pattern of cashiers targeting young females in particular, rather than older women, or men of any age, regardless of the cashier's own age and gender, although most male employees in retail have been courteous. In particular, middle-aged and older caucasian females seem to have problems whether they are customers or cashiers. Odd.

Marshalls has since moved into CF Markville Mall, on the lower level, in the food court. Its positioning is interesting. I was there a couple of times recently to grab a quick bite to eat at the food court. Lo and behold, this bright store kept calling me to go in. Yes, Mary, there are snacks and kitchen gadgets waiting for you. Come get 'em! Naturally, my hunger had to be attended to first. I can't shop hangry. I'd be banned for life. I went in the store afterwards. It's clean and bright. There are lots of pretty shoes. The clothing section was impeccably organized. Although I am more of a Winners person, its sister store is growing on me. I spent the most time in the kitchen accessories and snack sections. Surprised? Probably not... haha! I got a bag of beet chips. I like snacks here because I have never see or had them before. I also have a weakness for kitchen gadgets. No, I don't need another spiralizer, but I do enjoy looking at what is out here in the market. I like everything from cheaper Le Creuset baking dishes, to making soft-boiled and fried eggs with creativity. I browsed the handbags section. When Marshalls was across the street, I spotted a couple of Kipling handbags. Perhaps it was the luck of the draw, but I didn't see a single one on my most recent trip here. I had a friendly woman cash me out. I paid for my beet chips with a debit card and had my TJX Rewards card scanned. Easy peasy! I left the store happy with my bag of happiness. Although she was upfront with us from the get go that it would be hard to win anything with just 5 tokens, she delivered this message in a rude manner because she told us to leave if we thought that we could even win something with that amount of 5 tokens. To be honest, we didn't expect to win anything. We only wanted to have a fun experience of trying out some claw machines. Also, we didn't realize that the minimum purchase had to be 5 tokens and when we asked to buy 4 tokens, this employee gave us a look as if we had difficulty reading the instructions. To be honest, when you're inside a store with many claw machines, your eyes won't be focusing on reading text. Your eyes will be starring at the many cute stuffed toys. Our last attempt was for a claw machine where we were not familiar with its usage and when we asked the employee how to play that claw machine, her response was that that particular claw machine was super hard and that many customers spent more than 100 tokens and still couldn't get the stuffed animal. While we appreciated this honesty, we were interested in knowing how the machine worked and we had to repeat 3 times in total for the employee to give us a "Why-should-I-even-bother-to-show-you?" look and reluctantly grabbed a token to show us how to play that game.

You have to go through the building to outside on the street facing towards Kennedy (where Alice Cafe is), take a left when you exit the door and it's almost the last store, or alternatively you can find it down through the parking lot. I found the Kennedy entrance much easier to find the place, we took the parking lot way going back and got lost trying to get back to our car. They have lots of claw machines ready to go, filled with many CUTE toys; unlike other places that have trash low quality items. Almost every toy was bleeping cute. I want the Kermit with the supreme shirt next. Or the Pikachu dressed as a charmander. I went with rilakumma this time. On one side it is $1 per play, and the other side was cut the rope and $2 per play. Biggest bang for your buck is the $1 per play but the prizes on the other side are definitely cool too. Customer service was hilariously great. The girl set up the toys every time to help you win. Literally. The game is harder than you think and about $5 in with no toys she made it increasingly easier cause WE SUCK. We were super happy when we finally got the toy I wanted (rilakumma) and I super enjoyed the experience. It's a great place for children or dates (but you'll probably only spend about 10-15 min here max unless you want all the toys or spend your money). It's still a good cap-off if you're already in the plaza. All in all, spent $9 ($4 went to the $2 per play game which is much harder). The toy I got and the experience is definitely worth it. These days, it's deadly whenever I enter one. It has Squishmallows. Sure enough, I walked in and Squishmallows were on my right. I was in heaven seeing Squishmallows slippers in adult sizes. This store has a lot of candy and snacks. I was thrilled to see Harry and David moose munch with M&M's. However, the box was so small that I'd need to grab all of them for a decent snack. This store has freeze-dried fruit. There were samples at the checkout counter. I had the banana while I waited for a staff member to come over. It was yummy. If you like Sanrio products, this store is for you. I saw a lot of My Melody plushies. There was also a Hello Kitty purse that was so cute. If you are looking at clearance items, they are in a small section by the checkout. Some discounts are excellent. I got a Keroppi plushie that was $10 off. I had to get him. The LED products were pretty and awesome, and pretty awesome. I liked everything from a shimmery candle, to a snowflake. So nice! I had the nicest woman at the checkout. I wanted some thicker padding for my chairs and tables, so it didn't dig into my carpet as much, and I only found it here at a reasonable price! Look at those cute chairs and table socks! I also picked up some padding to stick in the bottom of my laptop to prevent overheating. I found some useful large S hooks that can fit my balcony railings and dividers to hang more plants. They have kitchen tools, bathroom gadgets, storage, pots, hangers, beauty tools, you name it, they have it. Always worthwhile to check out when you're at PMall.
