there is never staff to help do anything in the store, and the store looks like a complete disaster most of the time

They sell similar products that Daiso sells and originally did sell Daiso products until they rebranded. I would say, OOMOMO has better quality products, though noticeably more expensive. They sell a variety of different brands here and have a more vast selection. HUGE STORE; I love buying Japanese makeup and stationary items from here. They've got makeup, skincare, household goods, kitchenware, snacks, & hardware. Highly recommend checking the store out!!

I've seen some of the exact same plates at other stores for maybe 30% higher price Cups and plates are my personal go to, but they have everything from soys sauce dishes to modern coffee mugs to matcha ceremony bowls. Styles are far ranging and include cute and elegant, modern and traditional styles, and they carry lots of different sizes so you are likely to find something to suit your taste. I personally only buy dishwasher safe / microwaveable ceramics (so I actually use them) and a lot of the stock they have fits that criteria. The rest of the store is a whole labyrinth of home goods like beauty, kitchen tools, home organization, snacks, and craft goods. Again some rare finds exist, so it is well worth a look. I personally bought calligraphy stuff that was cheaper and more convenient here than buying it online, and they had related supplies like writing pads, practice paper, etc. The Japanese trinket/souvenir section stands out to me because you can get things that are rare to chance upon elsewhere. The ceramic darumas are well priced, and I've bought other cute traditional figurines there. Overall there's a lot to see in this store, to the point where it feels overwhelming to browse all sections. I keep my visits targeted and short so I don't wear myself out looking at 200 pairs of similar looking chopsticks. Also, sometimes the prices in this store are questionable, but I browse knowing overall it's fair (case in point for weird pricing - tiny plate $2, significantly larger medium size plate for $2.25). I don't live close by so I come around whenever I'm in the area.

I visited this Dollarama earlier this month. It's on the south side of Highway 7, east of Kennedy…read moreRoad. This Dollarama used to be Foodland. Before Foodland, it used to be an IGA. This store is in a plaza where you need to pay attention to drivers who don't check their blindspots. I pulled into this parking lot at around 6 pm. I had to honk at a car that felt like backing out without checking a thing. When I left, a similar situation happened with another car. I already felt that this wouldn't be a store that I'd frequent often if I am fearing for my life trying to find a parking spot. Anyway, I backed into a spot across from the main entrance. I walked in. It does feel like the IGA that I used to frequent. It simply has Dollarama merchandise. There was lots of Easter merchandise. From chocolate Easter bunnies, to baskets for your treats, you can find everything here. One of the few items that you can get for $1 are one-litre bottles of Pepsi. There were many when I was there. If you are looking for mason jars, this store has cases of them. The catch is that they aren't wide-mouth jars. Rather, they have bottlenecks. If you're looking for the former, you're out of luck. I liked the colourful planters at this store. You can do some cool gardening and save some money by getting your supplies at this store. You can get seeds and soil. Done! This store does not have any self-checkout kiosks. I lined up at the checkout area that moved fairly well. There was one person doing everything. He was pleasant. I paid with a credit card. I tapped and was done. I grabbed my items, wished him a great evening, and left. It's a decent store. Poor drivers backing out of parking spots that scare me. (134)

The store is of medium size so the aisles are pretty close together, not leaving a lot of space in between. The store is insanely busy during the holidays and numerous popular items are always out of stock. I wish a bigger Dollarama could open in the area as there is clearly a demand and a bigger store is needed to hold more inventory. There is also no room for self checkouts, which would speed up the check out process. Lots of parking and easy to get there through transit. Never had an issue with the employees there.

I dropped a star because I was over charged there, on a marked down product and the employee was adamant he didn't, but basic math showed he's implacable attitude was baseless. Watch your bill totals here, is all that I am saying. But they do have nice amenities, the toilets were clean and spotless. Much appreciated.

It's funny how I have never reviewed this Dollar Tree. It's time to fix this issue!…read more I tend to get my hair cut at the Great Clips next door. Afterwards, I typically pop by Dollar Tree to browse and shop. I was in the area the other day and decided to drop by. I prefer Dollar Tree to Dollarama. I like the selection and everything is $1.25. At the latter, there are items that even go for $4.25. What's the point of being a dollar store if you are paying dollars for a single item? I suppose that we can blame our Canadian dollar competing with the American one when it comes to Dollarama pricing. Anyway, this Dollar Tree is the only one in Markham. I love the selection of items, from sardines, to dumplings and chicken in cans. I also love the noodle section. The seasonal section is awesome. Easter is nearly here. You can get scented Easter bunny plush toys and a ton of chocolate items. Nice! Staff are friendly. I managed to witness two staff members training a new one. They were much younger than the new hire, but were incredibly supportive of her progress. I still miss the awesomeness of Dollar Tree in the States. Perhaps one day, the frozen food section will magically appear in Canadian stores. In the meantime, I am pleased to get decent items that are cheap and of good quality here. (132)
