Have not been here in quite a while. It's a dollar store, not too exciting, but they carry an interesting selection of items from Europe and around the world. I needed some parchment liners, was in the area so popped in. Lots of options and still inexpensive in these tough times. Sardines packed in water from Poland. Interesting! Turkish confectionery which is always good quality, Turkish dried figs, various rices, spices, party supplies and household/kitchenware. The store is extremely clean. Aisles are wide. Every time I walk into this dollar store, I spend more than I planned. Maybe it's the idea that everything is less than $2, that I think buying more still saves me money. Or maybe it's that they are stocked with really decent items. I've bought sleep masks with cute sayings ("10 more minutes"), endless tiny bottles of mouthwash, various art supplies (glitterati!) and shower caps. It's only downfall? There are ALWAYS line-ups. I've been during my lunch hour and in the evening; it's always been between a 15-25 minute wait in line. 31st Jan 2015 Well this dollarama is ok but its in regards to a particular product, A sink drainer. I bought this because my husband tends to remind me to always take the gabarge from the sink or peeled skin etc when am using the kitchen . I find its so convenient to leave any peeled skin, egg shell, milk bag etc in the sink until am finish then I would deposit it into the garbage. SO saw this sink drainer and i said "hey this is good because it avoids any skin or bigger food to go down into the sink. (SINK)!! REPITTITIVE I KNOW . Anyways the item tends to leave the sink dirty and unattractive because ill need to take it up every time to clean around it and still there is some food that gets away from it and down the drain. This is strategic shopping at it's best. Go there for cheap candy, chocolate bars, cold pop, garbage bags, mugs, birthday cards. Avoid anything you want to have last more than one use. Watch your purses and pockets because there are always shoplifters walking around in there. Expect the line-ups at check-out to make no sense and take 15 minutes longer than they should; people will cut in front of you, the cashiers will examine every purchase, and don't even think about lining up behind someone who has brought something "fragile" because it'll take the cashier half an hour to wrap it in paper. I like the snacks that Dollarama sells. nutritious snacks like almonds, peanuts, trail mix, cashews, hazelnuts, macadamia and chestnuts. other snacks to look for are european imported food like european dark chocolate bars, rye crackers, couscous. also the pepsi drinks are available in cans and bottles and cost cheaper than at the supermarket. there is also remedy kombucha in can, bottled okf aloe, silk brand beverages and jack links. too bad that the aisle in the snack area is so narrow since it's also the most visited aisle too.i also like buying kitchen utensils and winter accessories here read more

Who knew I'd fall slightly in love with a dollar store? This Dollarama is the real deal...it's a pretty complete outfit with everything ranging from kitchen tools to housewares to birthday cards to cans of olives to St. Patrick's Day decorations. Everything is priced between $1-$3. What is this place useful for you ask? Well, lots of things in Canada are just unreasonably expensive. I come here when I want a small quantity of something, something that's for a one-time use, or something I just don't want to spend much money on. Sometimes, I'm surprised by the quality. My $1.50 shower curtain is still holding on strong 16 months later...I've even been complimented on it looking trendy. Crazy! The place is even fairly clean. The downside (and the indifferent side): --Staff are pretty inconsistent. They can be friendly and helpful or make a trip to ServiceOntario look like a joy. --Line-ups can be a bit silly at the cash registers, and I'll just say that the clientele here doesn't always follow recommended British queueing techniques. --Product availability is a bit inconsistent. I'm regularly surprised at both what I can and can't find. OVERALL: This Dollarama is a good place for some targeted shopping. I wouldn't buy fresh produce here (not that they sell it), but things like a tiny tube of superglue, a temporary-turned-permanent shower curtain, and Maple-leaf themed napkins, this is a great place to shop. The employees here are rather rude. I came here today looking for a suitable adhesive for putting posters on walls without damaging either the wall or the poster. I spoke to a total of 3 employees who all just deferred me to another aisle or said they didn't know. In particular, the one lady who I spoke with didn't even bother looking me in the eye as I asked her for help. She just brushed me off and said, "try a different aisle" while pointing in a random direction. It's such a shame this Dollarama is the only one that's nearby and convenient for me. If I knew what I wanted, I would come here to just quickly buy it and get out. But if I had questions, this location would definitely not be my first choice. read more

Located on the underground level of College Park shopping centre and accessible from College TTC station without going outside at all. Currently, the College Park centre is under construction, so the store will be a bit more difficult to find behind all the scaffolding. It is located at one end of the mall, so just walk from one end to the other I guess. In terms of merchandise, it's honestly what Dollarama always sells - small items priced from around $1 to $3 including tons of stationary, sewing materials, cards, seasonal items (think holiday cards, Valentine's Day balloons, hot chocolate in the winter, popsicles in the summer), small gardening tools, etc. Because there are a ton of condos and businesses in the surrounding Bay/College area, this Dollarama is always busy. I've been here at 8am when it opens, at around noon and at 9pm and every single time, it is busy. The aisles are narrower than I'd like, but they do have tons of things in stock. Do be prepared to wait in line though, since they usually only have 1-2 cash registers open, and the lines don't move quickly. read more

This Dollarama location isn't super huge, but it still has a decent variety and amount of stock on offer. I work upstairs so it's handy for me to pick up random stuff (just yesterday I came out with a shower curtain, mini screwdriver set & a bag of cooked chestnuts), and often i'll just browse or people watch until the plasticy-candy smell starts to get to me. Things to note: - There's always (or at least 99% of the time) lineups. They're pretty good at getting more people on cash, but you'll have a little wait. - The store is pretty cramped, and seems moreso when it gets crowded - Holiday/special items are front and (to the right of) centre, and always well-stocked - You WILL buy more than you intended, but at least it won't break the bank. read more

They do have some brand name products for $2 like toilet bowl cleaner, sunlight dish soap, etc. It's all geared up for Halloween and some Christmas stuff has started to show up in the shelves! Not the greatest layout, but that could be due to the the space being smaller than some of the other Dollaramas. Aisles are way too narrow to the point where you can barely pass by someone else. It's even worse when the person you wanna pass has a buggy full of stuff that's blocking the way. There is also never enough cashiers. Lineups usually end up spilling into the aisles, making it even more difficult to get by. Whether you're actually waiting in line or just needing to walk thru, it's a major pain. I'm also someone that comes in for just a couple items, so I typically have to wait to pay for what feels like forever. The other customers in the long lineup in front of me always seem to have have baskets and buggies filled. As you can see, this is not an ideal place to come to if you're in a hurry. Yes, you can get some insane bargains. I like to come here for gift bags, cleaning supplies, candy, and the occasional basket or kitchen item. And if you're thirsty, remember that bottled pop in the cooler is just a $1! I would not suggest coming here to get something that's meant to last. You will not find that here. read more

This location is probably one of the smaller and oddly shaped store of any Dollaramas, but considering the space, they managed to cram as much inexpensive merchandise in one store making the shopping experience quite the maneuvering challenge especially when the store is busy since the aisles are quite narrow. With the numerous businesses and condos in the area, it's very hard to avoid a busy time since the store always seems busy and the lineups always stretch into the aisles. Cashiers are often rushing through the sales transaction with very minimal communication and without a smile. It's probably for the best because one wouldn't want to be in the store for any longer than they need to be. The store itself is located in the basement next to Service Ontario and for some reason there's always an awful odour emitting throughout the store. It can be quite nauseating at times and I wonder if it's simply due to all the plastic products in the store or poor air quality. It cannot be the latter because buildings have air quality control and inspections or else they would be closed. I'm not much of a fan of this location, but because its located in College Park, I often drop by to pick up some items if I'm in the area and cannot make it to the other locations. read more

I would like to give zero stars if I can. Although the location is nice, the employees here are rather rude and quite unprofessional. There are defective items sold here, which is understandable considering it's a dollar store. But when I asked for an exchange for the defective item that I bought 10 minutes earlier, the employees there were very rude about it. After I explained the situation to them politely, they did not seem sorry for it like in most places. The guy who seemed like the supervisor there even yelled at me in front of all the customers there and insisted that I had broken it. How would I have the time to go back home and open the package to break the item, and run back here in 10 minutes? And why would I want to do that? Their reaction made me feel that they probably knew this item was defective before selling it to me, and expected me to just take it as it is since it's not very expensive. I don't think anyone hates people and their own lives more than the employees of this Dollarama. I asked 3 different people to help me find something and everyone was extremely rude, with someone even saying "I told you it's over there!" (even though it wasn't what I was looking for). I walked out empty handed, not only because they didn't have one of the things I was looking for, but because they were insanely rude. Never coming here again but I doubt that matters to them because they were pretty busy. I guess that's how they can justify being rude to people. So not cool. read more

One of the largest Dollarama stores in the downtown core area of Toronto, this location at College Park (located in the basement floor, next to the Service Ontario office) is extremely busy on weekdays (especially lunch hours) as many people who work nearby come here to pick up a few items during their breaks. Massive layout makes the store nice and spacious, however, the store's location and long lines can result in some before you reach a cashier or are able to find help on the floor. With the cooler weather, the ventilation is not quite as good as I remember when I first visited the store in the summer ... the store smells pretty toxic :( I wouldn't spend too much time in here if you have a baby or kids. read more

This is probably one of the best Dollaramas in the downtown core. It is also one of - if not the busiest locations. The pro is that there is always new stock, so if you frequent dollar stores, you will find new merchandise is brought out here very all the time. Come back in 2 days, and there will likely be several new finds. The con is that good stuff sells out fast - you can't hesitate,and hope to find it again next time you're there. Expect lineups; avoid standing in line behind anyone buying glassware - as that takes FOREvER for the cashiers wrap. No refunds or exchange. read more
