To describe the customer service as "poor" or "horrible" is considered a compliment at this point. I went in to see if I can either return/exchange/or get store credit for items THAT I DID NOT PUT IN MY CART. Im 8.5 months pregnant, I went shopping (put about 40+ items in my cart) and lined up. I couldn't stand and wait in line much longer so I asked the cashier if I can leave my cart behind the counter bc I had to go (emergency - I actually went to Markham Stouffeville hospital) and I told him my husband would come by later and pay for the items. The boy, who was WONDERFUL in my opinion agreed as he saw that I was in distress. My husband went and cashed out later that night, came home with all the items plus $15 worth of stuff that wasn't mine. It was a mistake. I went in and what I thought would be an easy interaction turned for the worst, and I got into a screaming fest with the key holder who accused me of intentionally buying those items and changing my mind, and then she stated that the boy is now going to get in trouble for doing me a favour... and when I said why would you get upset with him when he did what any person should do to help someone whos pregnant... she responded "I WILL TELL HIM THAT WE DONT DO FAVOURS FOR PREGNANT WOMEN". Wonderful policy. When I confronted her on the discriminatory statement, she began to deny saying it meanwhile there was a line of customers watching. two different women approached and even told her that she shouldn't be speaking to me that way - but that changed nothing. Having a no return no exchange policy is one thing, but accusing the customer of lying and then stating "we dont do favours for pregnant women" is another. Headoffice should be training their staff, especially key holders, on how to interact with customers ... including vulnerable ones such as 8.5 month pregnant women who sometimes need accommodations while shopping. read more
