Ichiban Living is located in the basement of Pacific Mall and is like a Japanese Dollarstore. The prices are all about $2.25 each. You'll find things you didn't even know you need. Once you enter the store, be sure to go to the corner and go downstairs, as there are many more knick-knacks for you to peruse. I wanted some thicker padding for my chairs and tables, so it didn't dig into my carpet as much, and I only found it here at a reasonable price! Look at those cute chairs and table socks! I also picked up some padding to stick in the bottom of my laptop to prevent overheating. I found some useful large S hooks that can fit my balcony railings and dividers to hang more plants. They have kitchen tools, bathroom gadgets, storage, pots, hangers, beauty tools, you name it, they have it. Always worthwhile to check out when you're at PMall. Note, I'm not sure if it's due to the fire, but the escalators at Pmall are not functioning, so you have to use the service elevators the past weekend to go up and down the mall. read more

Wowow, I just stepped into cheapo's paradise and survived! I've been to Japan a fair number of times in recent years and I gotta say, you cannot resist Japan's ¥100 stores because their items are just so ingenious, practical, and affordable! From what I can see, Ichiban Living imports a lot of their products (Sería) and sell them here for $2. YES! Everything is just $2! Reasonable with the conversion rate and tax. Just my luck because I was starting a new shopping list for my next Japan trip, but now I can save the plane ticket and stock up here for the time being. Here, you will find high-quality items like stationary, diy craft scrapbooking supplies, kitchen supplies, baking supplies, dinnerware & utensils, household basics, cleaning supplies, organizational boxes, those small empty travel bottles, small bags and pouches, bicycle accessories, basic jewelry, basic electronics.. just everything useful and practical! Funny story: a friend of mine who recently became a new mother said that the only thing missing on her expensive baby stroller is a cup holder (for her beer lol). Well, look what I found... a cup holder attachment for your stroller! LOL. Seriously, whatever knick-knack you can't find at your local Dollarama, whether the size just ain't right or it's not the colour you want, it's worth taking a look here. Really, you will notice a Western-Asian comparison of practicality here, the difference show in the items. It is located in the basement/garage level of Pacific Mall. It looks small, but it's full of compact variety. As I was browsing deeper into the store, to my astoundment I found.. stairs.. which meant MORE! :O It led me to the (even) lower level where more items are stocked (so if you find something on the top level but is not in good shape, try the lower level). The selection and quality here is just amazing compares to other Dollar Store with merchandise for kitchen, bathroom, stationary, beauty and more. Wonderful Japanese dollar store that carries many tools and accessories for the home and office. As others have mentioned, it is like Daiso, but on a much smaller scale. The size of the store is quite small. Being located on the parking level inside the Pacific Mall. There are 2 levels, so be sure to go inside the store and downstairs. There are so much more goodies. It is quite fun to browse around and see what kind of things are available. Some of them quite cute and others are just so creative things that cost $2 CAD per item. Of course the more items you buy, you might be entitled to get some free items included with your purchase. If you enjoy the One's Better Living located in Market Village or the Best Shop on the upper level of the Pacific Mall, you will enjoy browsing through this store as well. Go check it out! read more

This 2$ store sells products one would find at the Seria dollar store in Japan! It may not seem like much of a deal because you would have to pay 2$ plus tax, whereas in Japan it's a flat 108 yen each item, but these are so adorable and you cannot find these products at your regular dollar store in Canada. I find that Japanese dollar stores carry great quality items for a low price. Overall it's still worth buying here, more so when comparing to One's Better Living store which is in the same building!!! Their markups are crazy. Only thing I would have to say is that this is a relatively small store, and doesn't carry all of the seria products that one would see in Japan. All items are Japanese designed, mostly made in China, but some are made in Japan. read more

Could not be more glad that I couldn't hold my bladder any longer and needed to take a pee break in the Pacific Mall basement because I would not have otherwise stumbled on this little gem of a Japanese dollar store (actually $2 store). I love Daiso and this is like Daiso but even better because the US dollar is strong and works out being cheaper than $1.50 per item (as priced in Daiso). Furthermore, I found more nifty and useful household items here than I did at Daiso. Thusly, Ichiban Living = win. I also like that a majority of the products are made in Japan and are super cute and seem pretty durable...unlike some comparable made in China goods. No offense, motherland. Gotta tell it like it is. Will be back over and over and over until the US dollar drops in value again...but possibly even then, I will be back. read more

3.5 stars. Dollar stores don't exist anymore, but this is as close as it gets. Lots of craft/stationery supplies and small household items. Much of the stock is from the brand/chain Seria, I believe. Don't expect the stock to be the same every time you go though, some things I've bought have never been restocked, or it takes MONTHS for it to show up on shelves again. Man this place is so cool! Now, I'm a little confused if this is the same location I went to, as I was inside Market Village. Some other reviews say it's in Pacific Mall, so now I'm not sure if they moved or have two locations now? Anywho, this location is definitely newer. This is almost a Japanese version of the normal dollar store most of us are used to. With all its stock from Japan, this is probably the best kind of dollar store around! Japan gas been known to make little trinkets and gadgets that are unique, cute, and life hacks. They have rows and rows of items from Japan, ranging from kitchen helpers to beauty products and stationary to miscellaneous things that you never knew existed! It's always fun to go through the different things Japan has to offer and learn what they are used for. Unfortunately, majority of the store is in Chinese or Japanese, making it harder for English readers to figure things out. The aisles and shelves were also minimally stocked. They had lots of stuff, but also lots of space on their shelves as well. Would be wise to fill those babies up! Definitely come check this place out! A Japanese dollar store finally arrived in Toronto! Well sort of... Ichiban Living is located in Pacific Mall on the Markham border and all their merchandise are $2 (each). Items are neatly displayed and the aisles are surprisingly spacious for a shop inside Pacific Mall. Dining items and beauty supplies are on the upper level so make sure to go to the lower level for everything else. I'm used to going to Daiso when I'm in San Francisco which is a lot bigger and everything is $1.50. But, Ichiban Living is a good start for the city. Solid 3 stars! This is as close as it gets to a daiso in Canada- although Its not a perfect replacement it's got some similar selection. Everything is $2.25 and such an amazing selection for stationary, bento boxes/lunch box and Knick knacks that you weren't even aware exists. I was pleasantly surprised that some of these items are made in Japan, and of course most are made in China. This location is huge with 2 levels and has better selection than the east York location. If you love Japanese goods - definitely worth a trip to either location. read more

I wanted to buy a speaker, so I asked the cashier if I could test it out at the counter first. She scanned it and said yes. It turned out to be faulty, so I decided I'm not going to buy it. However, the cashier said she already scanned it, and there are no refunds or exchanges. This was a blatant scam, and needless to say, I will never return here again. read more

This is officially my favourite store! I've been to this Ichiban Living location a few times whenever I go to pmall but never really bought anything (usually in there with my friend who buys stuff). However on Saturday, I was checking out the store like usual until I saw people actually going downstairs of the store. I had always wondered if the downstairs was just storage/staff only so I never go down but so glad I did. There's so much more stuff downstairs, mostly stationary, kitchen stuff, and storage. I had found some highlighters (similar to Zebra's Mildliners, no double side though), washi tape (by the counter), this planner sticker thing, and a little cute jar. I would've gotten some clear storage containers since I'm cleaning/reorganizing my room but it was a trip worth making later. But I was super happy with my purchases because I got what I needed for my bullet journal! I would've given this a five star but since I live in the downtown core--it's a long trip to get to pmall. I'm so glad everything is $2 and has almost everything I need so I'll definitely be back soon! read more

Preferable to Daiso in my opinion, even it is a bit smaller. They have the usual inventory of made in China and made in Japan products at very good prices. Also, some uniquely odd Japanese items.
