I had done a LOT of research and shopping around before I chose Canlik. The only reason I give 4…read morestars is because choosing a more service-oriented company sometimes means the cost savings won't be on par with the less attentive companies, and refacing ended up costing a bit more than I had expected. That being said: you get what you pay for, which is why I chose Canlik. I had previously gotten a cheaper quote and an earlier project completion date from another highly-rated refacing company - but their customer service was horrific! They were rude, wore no mask when I came to visit, and had an attitiude like people visiting their showroom and asking about different finishes was an annoyance. With this type of job, service makes the difference between a stressful experience and one that isn't. Its thousands of dollars, after all! With Canlik, I immediately saw a more professional, patient and thorough approach. Victor in the showroom genuinely took the time to explain options (eg thermofoil, painted wood, laminate) and got my respect when he suggested the most affordable option as the best one for my needs instead of pushing for me to choose the expensive one. He also took the time to pour over swatches with me, understand the look I wanted, try different swatches with my granite sample and discuss all aspects, like room size and how much light is there. He provided a lot of info based on working with designers and what is on trend but also classic. The trust was there: I knew they weren't going to have project start delays or leave me with deficiencies (as many big box renovation companies do, according to the internet). Simon, who handled the installation part, was equally great. The job was done on time, exactly on budget, with polite and efficient service and a genuine desire to please their client. My cabinets are gorgeous, modern, high quality and they transformed my tiny kitchen from dark and 80's looking to dreamy design-mag. I went with a modern shaker cabinet in a pale grey (looks almost white), timeless steel handles, and I almost happy-cried when I first saw their finished job.

Why NEVER to buy an appliance from Home Depot !!…read more We recently purchased an LG washer and dryer set from the Home Depot on Ellesmere Road in Toronto. We wanted an GE profile which has features such as "deep fill" for the water level, but were told that this model is not available in Canada due to the trade war. Fine. we were sold an LG set washer model WT6105CM as being it's equivalent. It certainly is NOT ! The settings include "deep fill" but only allows a corresponding setting of "deep wash" (not normal or delicate, etc.). there is no soaking feature... After we ruined, a large load of delicate items turned into rags, we were explained to never use deep wash as this setting is very abrasive and intended for the washing of construction clothing and the like. Returning to the Home Depot with the damaged clothing, we were told that we only had 24 hours to return the appliances (never previously alerted to...) An LG technician who was dispatched several weeks later after we had made a half dozen visits to Home Depot to get the issue resolved, explained that the "deep wash" on this model is a "never to be used setting other than for construction level dirt cleaning" he also disclosed that he buys all his appliances from Costco, which has a 90 day return policy (including for appliances) versus Home Depot's ridiculous 24 hours. The technician was very sympathetic to the issue. We had with these enforced settings and took photos of the ruined clothes. We continue to turn our towels and sheets into shreds when setting a deeper water level. The LG dryer DLE 6100 M also has default settings likely designed by a man... At dry level "normal" say for bath towels, it restricts the temperature to "medium heat" and won't allow the "high heat" setting so you have to run it TWICE! !A Home Depot supervisor suggested [after the fact) to only buy machines with basic settings that are all owner controlled . After months of frustration, wasted time and effort trying to deal with different departments and "managers" at both Home Depot and LG we have received ZERO satisfaction, nor compensation for damages caused by 1. the failure to disclose that it is not compatible with the GE profile model and 2. A policy requiring the consumer to return major appliances within 24 hours of purchase in contrast to 90 day return policies at stores such as Costco . YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED !

We were paired with Clement from KWood to walk us through the process starting with the design and measurements. After providing our concepts, he worked with the precise measurements and throughly explained what would work and what wouldn't along with his design suggestions on balancing between busy and plain patterns and colours. We were very impressed with his prompt response and details on the work. Since we were on a time crunch (around the holiday), we set a goal to finish all the kitchen work within a week. At first it seemed there would be a delay but Clement came through coordinating with the parties involved to deliver everything on time. What was included with the package ($11,300 with tax): Cabinets, under-cabinet pot lights, countertop, under mounted sink, pots and pans rack, under sink garbage bins and spice rack along with installations What wasn't included in the package ($5,000 total with different contractors): Kitchen demolition, Kitchen faucet and installation, appliance installations, pot lights, additional receptacles, flooring and baseboard corrections, wall patch ups and paint, tile materials and installation for the backsplash. One area I'd like to see improvements on is the level of guidance for new home renovators. It would have been very helpful to know all the different work involved for a kitchen and what professionals to seek out for each. The following is our list of different professions we had to work with in addition to KWood: Electrician: Pot lights, electrical work for under cabinet lights and 2 additional receptacles Plumber: kitchen faucet (we bought the faucet and soap dispenser from Amazon) and dishwasher installation. General construction: kitchen demolition, dry wall patch ups, painting Tile Installer: Backsplash; we provided the tiles from Olympia tiles and non-sanded bright white grout from Home Depot DIY: Microwave installation Overall we were very satisfied with KWood's delivery based on what was agreed upon and would definitely work with them on future renovation projects.
