But it has been in business serving the community since 1959! If you come on a nice Sunny afternoon, it is jammed packed with seniors shopping in the area. And surprisingly it has a decent collection of kitchenware. BBQ seems to be their expertise. They also provides both sales and services to bbq. I drop by here occasionally if I shopping or eating in the plaza but it is A-OK for something small or you are an Aeroplan point collector!

I can't comment on every single department or any of their installation services, but just in terms of the retail store - staff helpfulness & friendliness, in-stock levels, fairly clear & well maintained aisles, well chosen skid drop locations - they just seem to do a better job. Most recently I bought an Air Conditioner here and some weather stripping & insulation products. Noticed how the bulky HVAC products were all displayed in the spacious front part of the store for easy access by dolly or hand-truck and short run to the checkout & parking lot (whereas at Wicksteed they're split up with some AC's in the middle section where you'd have to bring them through aisles...). It helps that there often seems to be less of a crowd here. But I suspect part of that is due to customers being helped more promptly and competently both on the sales floor and at checkout.

I live nearby and it has saved me hopping in the car and going to Home Depot or similar. The staff are friendly and very helpful. I have also found the odd thing here that is sold out elsewhere (Ie like cleaning goods) too, fyi. I was at HomeSense 7575 Weston Road Woodbridge today at 7pm. A dog pooped on the floor by Gallery…read moreisle. 3 people almost stepped on it. I advised the cashier there's poop on the floor. 10 minutes passed, it was still on the floor. I advised another staff member who rudely responded to me and said "I know I know, we've already been told" then turned her back to me. I told her I'm trying to be nice and helping them avoid avoid a situation where people would step on it. She responded and was rude about it again. I asked to speak with a manager I was told the manager is on break. I walked away. Another 5 minutes passed same girl and the assistant manager proceeded to clean the poop. As they walked by I said "it's about time somebody attended to it." The assistant manager rudely responded, we didn't know and was very confrontational. I said I reported twice, how do you not know. I asked to speak to a manager above her, I was then told that there is no manager on duty. I left and called the store (905) 850-8131, the assistant manager answered. I asked to speak to a manager, she told me that no manager tonight and for the rest of the weekend. After a few words back and forth she hung up on me, accused me of being rude to her and her staff. I called back again, she was rude and she hung up again. Not very good customer service at all after trying to help them prevent customers from stepping on dog poop. I'll be reporting this to Corporate office.
