Blue Chip Auto Glass - Matching Tesla's in for Windshield replacement Monday Morning

Blue Chip Auto Glass

Very easy to deal with. They're a preferred glass company for my insurer…read more Was able to get original Toyota windshield glass. Once it arrived, installation was quick. No problems, looks great. Convenient location off Bell and I-17.

Rock chips happen, and sometimes those turn into cracks. And if you have an old truck like me with…read moreoriginal glass, you might be a little nervous to get it replaced. Is it going to fit right? Will that blue glare strip be at the top? The only way to find out is just to do your research, find a glass company that specializes in the older glass replacements and ask questions if you've got em (which I did). My insurance sent me to Safelite, but after reading their reviews there was no way I was going to trust them with my truck! I found Blue Chip and their amazing customer feedback online and gave them a call. Kelly answered my questions, and was humbled by my asking to switch from Safelite. The appointment was set, lobby was stocked with delicious snacks (even vegan) and drinks, and the bathroom was clean. Chris checked me in, and John checked me out when it was time to leave. Freddy did a stellar job on my truck, even grabbing me to show what the body of my truck looked like after removing the old glass (yeah, there was some rust there). He explained that while he can do his best to clean it up by grinding it, that there would be a chance in the future for leaks and would be unavoidable unless I got body work done to fix it, which I opted out of. I thanked him for his transparency. Mind you, I have a 1999 GMC Suburban, which is not perfect, but I don't mind it. Freddy showed me my glass when he was all finished and I couldn't have been happier! I met Kelly in person as I was leaving and find that he is a great business owner who really cares about his clients and their experience with his shop. This is the type of business I have no problem supporting every time, and if I need them in the future, "I'll be back".

The team was able to work me in and one of the techs stayed late to get the rock chip repair completed. Was an easy check in and they provided a discount based on car insurance. Experience (5/5): check in was a breeze and was in the system in less than five minutes. They stayed late to help me from having to come back again. Price (3/5): While I'm sure there is a less expensive option, the repair was done well and without an appointment.

I do not write poor review reviews. I normally understand that mistakes happen, but this was…read moreincredibly frustrating because this Safelite had wrong parts for my Tesla TWICE even with my vin number. Safelite initially ordered the wrong window for my 2023 Tesla Model 3. I was told that it was their automated system that caused the mishap, which I was willing to understand. Mistakes happen. Before going through this again, however, I specifically contacted Safelite and asked them to confirm that the replacement they ordered was the correct window. I was assured that it was. Then, about 30 minutes later, I received a call telling me that, once again, they had the wrong window. This time they blamed it on Tesla. If the first order was incorrect because of information provided by your poor automated system okay I am willing to give this shop another chance. After the two mistakes, and especially after a customer specifically asks you to double-check the replacement, I would expect someone to actually verify the part before confirming it is correct. I ultimately gave up and contacted a different local auto-glass company. I sent them the information, and they immediately noticed the part-number discrepancy, confirmed the correct window, and were able to come to my house the same day. One mistake would not have prompted me to leave a negative review. Even two mistakes can happen. What bothered me was that I specifically tried to prevent the second mistake by asking Safelite to confirm the part, was told it had been confirmed, and then learned 30 minutes later that it was wrong again. Save yourself the hassle and find anybody else.
