I was told the coupon would be emailed to me after booking, but I never received anything. I checked my inbox, spam folder, and junk mail multiple times with no success. When I arrived for the appointment and mentioned the missing coupon, the veterinary technician advised me that customer service at the front would be able to assist me with applying the discount. However, upon checkout, I was told there was nothing they could do without the coupon code. The store manager, Jacob, was then called over and was equally unhelpful. Instead of resolving the issue, I was simply told to call another phone number myself. The only reason I chose this clinic was because of the advertised promotion, which ultimately was never honored. To make matters worse, the pricing was outrageously high. I was charged $43 for a rabies vaccine and $56 for Bordetella, while my regular veterinarian charges approximately $20 for each. Had I known the promotion would not be honored and the customer service would be this poor, I would have gone to my regular vet instead. This entire experience felt misleading, unprofessional, and poorly handled from start to finish. Management, especially the general manager, would benefit greatly from customer service training.

Before I go into that, for context I don't shop here often, partially because I had such a bad experience / frustrating experience years ago and also because there are closer pet stores to my home so logistically it's a bit out of the way. However, today I was in the area, needed to kill 10 minutes and had a small list. I came in and was able to find everything on my list without issue. The store was well stocked and they had some promising deals and the prices on some items were pretty reasonable. My kudos and A+ service today came from Hector working the front register. My interaction with him made me come back to leave an updated positive rating. It was a simple interaction but Hector was so pleasant and kind that it made my shopping experience really nice. He was kind throughout our exchange and he didn't mind me leaving my heavier items in the cart and he scanned them from the cart with ease. Again, it was a simple interaction but a really nice one. Worth coming back to give him a kudos and credit for turning around my experience from years ago. While this petco won't be on my regular rotation (due to location / distance) I would definitely come back again now in the future if I found myself on this side of town and look forward to supporting their business when I can. The store is quite large, and as I walked past the baby chickens, an employee who was inside the fenced area with them greeted me warmly and asked if I was interested in any of the chicks. I was happy to see they had guinea fowl there. I'd love to get some, but not right now. They have a ton of stuff for farm, garden and livestock. Right at the entrance they had a large number of flat top grills, which I've heard great things about, and also some big gun safes. The young woman behind the register was friendly and professional.
