It is my understanding that the company, which started as a local company, has now been sold to a larger corporation... That could be the source of some of the problems. To make a long story short, my 80-year-old mother has been using them for years, even after we discontinued their service. Recently she had them do some inspection work up in her attic, which has a double roof on it without insulation. They recommended that she get new insulation, and that they do the work, including patching some holes for a small rat or mouse that had chewed through one of the vents. They also said they found termite damage that would require tenting. To install insulation, they quoted her cost at $6000. She does not have that large of a house, and it was an out rages Lee expensive price. Scandalously hi. When she told us, we were shocked. They also wanted $1400 to repair vent work which apparently has some holes in it, and the termite damage, which was minor, was going to cost another $3000. Their salesman who came out and gave an estimate then called back a day later to ask if she wanted to do the work, and if she could pay for everything in advance since it was expensive insulation they were installing. Outrageous! I had her call them to cancel their service, which I'm glad she offered to do because had I gotten them on the phone I would have reamed them. What a horrible bunch of people. I'm going to leave a negative comment and warning on every public site I can, as well as file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, and notify the state contractors board... It is illegal to ask for 100% payment upfront for a job. They were once a great local company, but no longer. If cut back on their service, use inferior equipment, and are losing customers. I'm really sad that such a Once respected local company has fallen so far. Beware of contracting their services yourself

    Banks used to be da bomb. When Don owned the company, we got prompt service at a reasonable rate…read more($80 or so every 2 months). They would spray every 2 months, but if we ever saw ANYTHING, they'd come the next day for no extra charge. We had 3 technicians over 18 months, and they were all great. Then the company got sold. And that's usually when great, local companies fall apart. The reason they still get 2 stars? The stuff works. We don't have a pest problem. But we saw some roaches around the house and called...the tech said he'd come the next day at 9. I work from home. He never came. I called, he said he knocked and I wasn't home. I looked at the cameras...he never came. This month, they called to schedule our bi-monthly spray. We set it up for a Friday, also at 9am. Never came. I called, nobody answered. Left a message, nothing. So I'm shopping my services now, because I believe in customer service, and the new owners do not.

They responded, showed up, and provided a quote. However, the experience changed once I started asking questions about the one-year service agreement and billing. Before signing any contract, especially one that locks me into service for a full year, I believe it is reasonable to ask clear questions about the billing cycle, payment dates, and whether anything would be prorated. I asked a simple question: if I signed and paid on 5/11, would my billing cycle start from that date, or would I still be billed on their regular cycle and lose part of the service period? I was not asking to avoid payment or get a discount. I simply wanted to understand what I was agreeing to before signing. Unfortunately, Rachel in billing did not seem clear on the answer, even though I had already discussed some of the details with Dan. That made me uncomfortable because billing and contract terms should be clearly understood by the company before asking a customer to commit for a full year. Instead of calmly answering the question, the tone changed and it felt like they became frustrated that I was asking about the contract at all. As a landlord who does not live in the Bakersfield area, I have to be extra careful about who I hire to service my property. I need to make sure the property is being properly maintained, the billing is clear, and the agreement is fair before I sign anything. Asking questions about a contract should not create tension or attitude from a company. I was genuinely interested in starting service, but this experience made me feel uncomfortable and hesitant. A customer should be able to ask basic contract and billing questions without feeling like they are being a problem. To me, that is not good business, especially when the customer is being asked to commit to a one-year agreement.
