Our family grew increasingly dissatisfied with Banks pest-control over the years, culminating in an outlandish event that caused us to completely sever ties with this company. It is my understanding that the company, which started as a local company, has now been sold to a larger corporation... That could be the source of some of the problems. To make a long story short, my 80-year-old mother has been using them for years, even after we discontinued their service. Recently she had them do some inspection work up in her attic, which has a double roof on it without insulation. They recommended that she get new insulation, and that they do the work, including patching some holes for a small rat or mouse that had chewed through one of the vents. They also said they found termite damage that would require tenting. To install insulation, they quoted her cost at $6000. She does not have that large of a house, and it was an out rages Lee expensive price. Scandalously hi. When she told us, we were shocked. They also wanted $1400 to repair vent work which apparently has some holes in it, and the termite damage, which was minor, was going to cost another $3000. Their salesman who came out and gave an estimate then called back a day later to ask if she wanted to do the work, and if she could pay for everything in advance since it was expensive insulation they were installing. Outrageous! I had her call them to cancel their service, which I'm glad she offered to do because had I gotten them on the phone I would have reamed them. What a horrible bunch of people. I'm going to leave a negative comment and warning on every public site I can, as well as file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, and notify the state contractors board... It is illegal to ask for 100% payment upfront for a job. They were once a great local company, but no longer. If cut back on their service, use inferior equipment, and are losing customers. I'm really sad that such a Once respected local company has fallen so far. Beware of contracting their services yourself read more

Banks used to be da bomb. When Don owned the company, we got prompt service at a reasonable rate ($80 or so every 2 months). They would spray every 2 months, but if we ever saw ANYTHING, they'd come the next day for no extra charge. We had 3 technicians over 18 months, and they were all great. Then the company got sold. And that's usually when great, local companies fall apart. The reason they still get 2 stars? The stuff works. We don't have a pest problem. But we saw some roaches around the house and called...the tech said he'd come the next day at 9. I work from home. He never came. I called, he said he knocked and I wasn't home. I looked at the cameras...he never came. This month, they called to schedule our bi-monthly spray. We set it up for a Friday, also at 9am. Never came. I called, nobody answered. Left a message, nothing. So I'm shopping my services now, because I believe in customer service, and the new owners do not. read more

I was a loyal customer since April, 2013. I also used Banks' handyman services several times. After Lawrence left and the ownership changed, I noticed a distinct change in attitude in the office staff, particularly those taking calls. It was difficult for me when told the handyman service was terminated without so much as asking me first. I can not recommend this company any longer. Sorry, Aaron. I know you tried. Bye bye, Banks. I have to give you a star in order to post this. read more

Banks Pest Control used to be a great reliable local business. I had them service my home for about 15 years. Since the change of ownership, issues have occurred, billing issues. After service is completed, the technician leaves the statement at your door with a pre-addressed envelope to return payment. The envelope has a Post Office Box address. I sent my payment and the check and 2 months later it never cleared and they sent me past due notices. I called them and they told me, oh no you need to send it to our street address on District Blvd. Okay, why do you provide an address envelope with the wrong address? They said, oh the Post Office Box is supposed to be forwarding to the street address and the Post Office has failed to do this. So I stopped payment on my check and sent a new check to the District Blvd address. Another two months went by and I'm receiving Past Due notices because that check never cleared. I called them yesterday and they said, oh, people are stealing our mail from both the Post Office Box and the Street Address and the Post Office is investigating. I said no...they're is no chance someone is targeting Banks Pest Control's mail at both the P.O. Box and there office address. I suggested they are not processing payments, maybe someone is just trashing payments because they can't keep up with the work??? They said, No, No. Well I had to stop payment on the second check and this time my bank charged me $30. I told them, I'll bring you a check and you're going to give me a receipt and that will be the end of it. By the way, the envelope that they sent with the past due notice has the P.O. Box address printed on it not the street address. I guess they are either too cheap to print new ones until they use up the old stock or they are just stupid. I figure they owe me $30 for a second stop payment on a check that never cleared. The whole thing smells very fishy. I cancelled the service and would never recommend Bank's to anyone. I became a customer again of Banks Pest control two weeks ago and I had them on my business for over a year in the past. I don't remember the service was bad Like it is right now. I got into a new house and had roaches, so I called them, I did the full service and I still live roaches in the house, I called a few times to reschedule for the pest control, nobody, nobody called me back like they promised and basically they ignore my calls. I taught to myself maybe it will take a few days for the roaches to die, but after 2 weeks it seems that it's not working. I know that I need them to come one more time at least but they are not coming. read more

Worst customer service ever. Call to them to have a estimate for service. The owner of Banks pest control came to review the issue And give me an estimate. I informed him of the issue I have and that the pest control company that was servicing my place has not been able to handle the problem. On he gave me a fair price yet to be a little higher then the company I was using at the time. I told him I would give him a call to set service up after my month what's up with my current pest control service. Emotional the next day my current pest control service came to try to handle MY issue. While sprain the service man informed me that the owner of Banks pest control had called him to inform him that I was shopping around for other services. Apparently discretion is not banks pest-control policy. I would never recommend pest control to anybody. read more

Called to get my house sprayed and talked to a Heather. She told me 103 first time out then 60 a month so I made the apt cleaned out my cabinets .And waited for the man to show up we paid him as we where walking out the door for him to spray .Then we come home and it didn't smell like it's been sprayed . I called and told them there still live bugs. to be told the they just put bait all over and use air saw well that didn't work who else had the same problem with this company? read more

After a year of using Terminix, we cancelled our service with them because we would get automated telephone calls that someone would be out to spray, but that person would not show up. Then when we weren't home or weren't expecting a service, we would have a tag on our door stating that they had serviced our home...our front yard, basically...because they had no way in to the backyard, the house, or the garage. I could never call the company and speak to a person. We switched to Banks at the recommendation of a family member, and we have been so delighted with their service. Their initial service included the entire interior of our home, and a thorough exterior spraying. It took several hours...to our dismay, when we peeked out back to see what the serviceman was doing, we found him up in our citrus trees, spraying. No other company does that. Diego, our current serviceman, contacts me directly when he is going to come by. He always asks if we are experiencing any pests, and he always does a thorough job. We used to have problems with black widows in the summer months...they were everywhere. I can honestly say that since we have started Banks, we have not seen a single blackwidow...I don't think we have even seen a single spider! Peace of mind for my husband and I, with a young child running around the backyard. I would definitely recommend Banks to anyone and everyone looking for affordable and more importantly, RELIABLE pest control service. read more

I would not use this company, use to be good but since they got sold they are terrible. The guys who sprays and wipes for webs doesn't do a good job, poor job at best. Caught the guy talking bad about me and my family on our security camera as well as the people in the front office. Don't waste your money find someone else. read more

Subsequent to a change of ownership, Banks Pest Control has become extremely difficult to recommend. They have moved three times in about as many months and the billing department is EXTREMELY user unfriendly. Money has replaced service as the business moto. read more

Here was my experience with this company: During the inspection, repair, and closing process of purchasing a recent property, I used Banks I am surprised there are not more reviews as a few phone calls to non-bias sources said Banks has a notorious reputation for doing what they did during the inspection process- after issuing full clearance of active infestation in visible and accessible areas on a standard residential inspection by a licensed Banks termite inspector, another inspector came out two days after providing this clearance and on the day of closing stating that the entire property needed to be tented for over $1K. This is either a scam or complete gap in competency. They never contacted me directly about any of it and I would definitely not recommend them as they offered no resolution except to give them an excessive amount of money at the last minute. Another termite company estimated the "missed" inspection area repair at a fraction of the cost. Just my experience but I cannot recommend them to anyone. I will update this review if they do contact me or decide to do anything more than complicate buying a house further (termite inspection is a huge part of financing and termites are extremely common in this area of California- logically, they should be experts on all of this). Sincerely, a former client. read more

Worked out great inside and out all bugs gone for the year, ready to call again. Affordable prices !! Thanks Banks

This place is a joke they leave service bills on door but after I still had ants and bugs I got my alarm company ADT to install cameras and found there service guy would drive up place bill on door and drive off. When brought to this ridiculous company attention they still said I owe for service not provided. Take your business else where. This place is a thief! read more

The first man was very thorough. We had to leave the house for 4 hours for him to bomb the house. Very friendly. Most of the ants seemed to disappear but not in the front yard. They attacked me when I was watering. A few stragglers. So I called. They never came. Oops! I called the next day and another guy sprayed. We shall see! So far so good. Bimonthly charge. They came out for free. read more

Amazing customer service, persistent with resolving pest control and quick response time! This company has proven themselves time and time again. I've used Banks for the past five years, whenever something out of the ordinary came up they were quick to make it right! A couple years in a row we had a sugar ant problem, they worked with me until the issue was resolved. They even called out a few experts to make sure they got to the root of the problem. One Christmas a new technician serviced our yard and accidentally knocked down our Christmas lights, the company had two people out that same day and restrung the lights. It's comforting to know they genuinely care about customer satisfaction. read more

Terrible company, starting from the people that dies the work to the management, contracted to do some work with them, once they got paid they dropped the ball. Completely. There are plenty of other good companies out there, find a good company, stay away from these people. read more
