They responded, showed up, and provided a quote. However, the experience changed once I started asking questions about the one-year service agreement and billing. Before signing any contract, especially one that locks me into service for a full year, I believe it is reasonable to ask clear questions about the billing cycle, payment dates, and whether anything would be prorated. I asked a simple question: if I signed and paid on 5/11, would my billing cycle start from that date, or would I still be billed on their regular cycle and lose part of the service period? I was not asking to avoid payment or get a discount. I simply wanted to understand what I was agreeing to before signing. Unfortunately, Rachel in billing did not seem clear on the answer, even though I had already discussed some of the details with Dan. That made me uncomfortable because billing and contract terms should be clearly understood by the company before asking a customer to commit for a full year. Instead of calmly answering the question, the tone changed and it felt like they became frustrated that I was asking about the contract at all. As a landlord who does not live in the Bakersfield area, I have to be extra careful about who I hire to service my property. I need to make sure the property is being properly maintained, the billing is clear, and the agreement is fair before I sign anything. Asking questions about a contract should not create tension or attitude from a company. I was genuinely interested in starting service, but this experience made me feel uncomfortable and hesitant. A customer should be able to ask basic contract and billing questions without feeling like they are being a problem. If you're looking for honest, reliable, and efficient service for all your pest management needs, Dan is the man! Don't even bother contacting other companies online and waste your time. Nowadays, it's hard to come across service providers who don't give you the straight answer or one that isn't trying to upsell you something you don't need. But Dan is not that person. I was needing someone who can verify a mice problem that I was told I had by the AC technician. So I found Dan's Pest Management company as highly recommended by my Yelp buddies. Sent message late Friday afternoon through Yelp and received a call from him within minutes. He was able to ease my concerns over the phone even and told me he can come by as soon as the next day (Saturday) to assess the issue for free and quote. As promised, Dan came on time and got right to work to complete the job as promised, on a Sunday at that. After the job was done, Dan gave the reassurance that there wasn't a problem. The issue was normal as expected and he placed preventative measures to control the problem. He was upfront from the start of what services we needed and didn't need. It took him about 15 minutes to spray inside the home, and he took a good amount of time and attention in getting the outside: up and down, cracks and property walls. As a busy professional I have been guilty of forgetting to call in time for pest control and my house started looking ready for Halloween in May Dan was able to come out the day I called, just so happened to be able to squeeze us in. And he did a great job of removing cobwebs and spraying the perimeters. His office later called to set up auto pay and future visits on a schedule. I started service last summer when I had wasp nests and ants. They came a couple days after for the first service and explained everything. All the spider webs and wasp nests were knocked down. They guarantee the work which is great because there was one time when the ants came back and one of the employees re sprayed the outside and the ants stopped coming. I haven't had any bugs inside since Dan's started spraying other than one dead spider. No cockroaches at all either inside or out. Those are the ones I can't handle when I see so I don't have to be scared to walk outside at night during summer. I like the convenience of being able to text (or call if I want , but I prefer texts since it's easier). If I have a question I'll just send a text to reschedule and it's taken care of the same day. I love this guy! He not only has the best customer service, but he does a great job on the bugs. With the previous guy, I thought he did a great job too, but the roaches still came. No many, but enough, I watched one walk in under the screen door one night. Things happen and I needed to replace my service. I talked to Dan, and he was great, he promised the bugs would be gone. But I live downtown, there are always bugs, the giant brown roaches the size of my thumb and spiders galore,! I often get Black Widows infesting my rarely used garage.
