Our family grew increasingly dissatisfied with Banks pest-control over the years, culminating in an…read moreoutlandish event that caused us to completely sever ties with this company. It is my understanding that the company, which started as a local company, has now been sold to a larger corporation... That could be the source of some of the problems. To make a long story short, my 80-year-old mother has been using them for years, even after we discontinued their service. Recently she had them do some inspection work up in her attic, which has a double roof on it without insulation. They recommended that she get new insulation, and that they do the work, including patching some holes for a small rat or mouse that had chewed through one of the vents. They also said they found termite damage that would require tenting. To install insulation, they quoted her cost at $6000. She does not have that large of a house, and it was an out rages Lee expensive price. Scandalously hi. When she told us, we were shocked. They also wanted $1400 to repair vent work which apparently has some holes in it, and the termite damage, which was minor, was going to cost another $3000. Their salesman who came out and gave an estimate then called back a day later to ask if she wanted to do the work, and if she could pay for everything in advance since it was expensive insulation they were installing. Outrageous! I had her call them to cancel their service, which I'm glad she offered to do because had I gotten them on the phone I would have reamed them. What a horrible bunch of people. I'm going to leave a negative comment and warning on every public site I can, as well as file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, and notify the state contractors board... It is illegal to ask for 100% payment upfront for a job. They were once a great local company, but no longer. If cut back on their service, use inferior equipment, and are losing customers. I'm really sad that such a Once respected local company has fallen so far. Beware of contracting their services yourself

They would spray every 2 months, but if we ever saw ANYTHING, they'd come the next day for no extra charge. We had 3 technicians over 18 months, and they were all great. Then the company got sold. And that's usually when great, local companies fall apart. The reason they still get 2 stars? The stuff works. We don't have a pest problem. But we saw some roaches around the house and called...the tech said he'd come the next day at 9. I work from home. He never came. I called, he said he knocked and I wasn't home. I looked at the cameras...he never came. This month, they called to schedule our bi-monthly spray. We set it up for a Friday, also at 9am. Never came. I called, nobody answered. Left a message, nothing. So I'm shopping my services now, because I believe in customer service, and the new owners do not.

I called animal control and the Wildlife rescue number the City provided. Animal control doesn't do this type of work, and the rescue company finally called me back hours later. Found this company online, called and got a person on the phone instead of a recorded message. Andrew then called to follow up in less than an hour, and Joseph arrived later with a box and a grabber tool to capture the possum. I haven't been the recipient of this much kindness in quite a while, and it's obvious they care about the welfare of the animals they capture. For what they did for me - and the little possum - their fee was a bargain. Too many wild animals are just considered expendable. I don't think these guys feel that way, and it's a relief to know they're doing what they do. Keep up the good work. Thank you doesn't come close.

Manny, the owner of the service here in Bakersfield, was excellent. Quickly came out when we called…read moreon a Friday afternoon about a raccoon who decided to start burrowing into our roof. Other rodent companies we called suggested calling back Monday (apparently did not work on weekends), but there was real concern that at the rate the raccoon was going that he would break into the attic over the weekend. Manny went over the options of things we could do ourselves if we wanted to try these first. We decided to go with the option he suggested that wouldn't hurt the raccoon, the house or us (financially) and prevent the raccoon from returning. Manny was very good. Prompt. Efficient. Went over what he was going to do and when - and did it. Repaired the damaged roof. Cleaned the roof and surrounding area of debris afterwards. Came back Saturday morning and again Tuesday (to repair the roof) when he said he would. We thought the cost was very reasonable. On top of it all he was really a nice guy. Have recommended him to neighbors as we have lots of possums and raccoons in the area. Will definitely call him again if needed.

Globe to porch light knocked off and broken. When I spoke to Oxley about standing behind their work and providing me with compensation for the damage, they declined. Oxley suggested we were the victim of a possible robbery and that their technicians would have reported any damage So my bottom line is being happy for a low price and being glad for the reminder that "You get what you pay for."

German Roach Problems? Come here!!…read more Embarrassing to admit but I had a bad roach infestation. Everywhere I would look there was a roach. I would eat dinner. And just got used to them being near me because There was nothing I could do. It was To the point where I would have to make sure I dust off my backpack before leaving the house to make sure I don't carry them to other places because they were everywhere. I thought I was beyond help. I called multiple businesses on here. I called another company and had a bad phone encounter. Made me feel like the infestation was my fault and not good experience. I then called WOW. And expecting same treatment. I was surprised. They didn't seem to bat and eyelash at my concerns. Answered my questions. And treated me kindly. Admitting you have a roach problem and asking for help is already embarrassing. And they don't make you feel bad about it. The only thing is when I did service I paid with card. Which they do accept. it's just a bit of a process since the worker doesn't have a way to take card so they have to call the office and process the card over the phone. Seemed to be something they do but must not be common. Since the worker was a little confused about it. So Maybe use cash? Another thing is the person on the phone told me not to take everything out of cabinets. And in person the worker said that they should have told me to remove it. But it was fine and he could still do it. We just have to remove some stuff and he said to make sure to wash everything after. I was a bit embarrassed to run around and try to empty them a bit while he was waiting for us to be ready. For the company. If we can have better communication on what to do before service.
