We are experiencing terrible gopher activity that is destroying our backyard. After calling around different pest controllers, we were referred to Benchmark since they have a special machine that helps treat for gophers. The first time we called them they treated the gopher activity one side of the house. They charged us $150.00 for the service and we did not experience further issues on that side of the house. We recently found more gopher activity on the other side of our backyard. We called Benchmark again on July 17, 2020 to conduct additional treatment. They came out and charged us another $150.00. I was totally ok paying the service fee as this was a second treatment. The applicator told me they inject CO2 into the ground to asphyxiate the gophers. He also mentioned that this treatment will take care of our gopher issue indefinitely. Two days later we found a huge and freshly dug gopher mound. Then another mound on July 21, 2020. That same day I called Benchmark and asked to speak to the owner. I wanted Benchmark to make it right before jumping on to Yelp and writing a bad review. The gentleman that answered said the owner was busy and would call me back. I will admit, I called during the lunch hour so I didn't expect an immediate call back. One week went by and no call. Two weeks post "treatment" and still no phone call. We continued to have gopher issues which has been extremely frustrating. Never again with Benchmark! We ordered gopher poison on Amazon and a posion applicator stick and treated ourselves. I cannot attest to their other pest control services and we are not willing to find out either. If you need gopher treatment, just do it yourself. You will save yourself the $150.00 and the added headaches. read more

For once, I'm glad I didn't read Yelp reviews first. I found these guys to be absolutely awesome. Had a possum in one of my walls. She was too frightened to try to come out and escape. I called animal control and the Wildlife rescue number the City provided. Animal control doesn't do this type of work, and the rescue company finally called me back hours later. Found this company online, called and got a person on the phone instead of a recorded message. Andrew then called to follow up in less than an hour, and Joseph arrived later with a box and a grabber tool to capture the possum. I haven't been the recipient of this much kindness in quite a while, and it's obvious they care about the welfare of the animals they capture. For what they did for me - and the little possum - their fee was a bargain. Too many wild animals are just considered expendable. I don't think these guys feel that way, and it's a relief to know they're doing what they do. Keep up the good work. Thank you doesn't come close. read more

Paid $500 ! Was promised help in ridding of few rodents seen in house! The contract only stated I paid $500 and they would put out 20 traps and monitor! One rat was caught- 3rd call to have them come help with mouse seen in kitchen sink area! Was rudely informed by woman that they would only come to Taft 4 times - next trip they would pick up traps! We were robbed of $500! I am disabled and on Disability! My landlord will be taking them to small claims court ! They lied and did not help us at all! Donot hire this company!Thieves ! read more

Not service related but encountered a truck from this company on the 99 outside of Bakersfield and he was on his cell phone and swerved into our lane. My husband honked at him and told him get off your phone. He proceeded to drive very unsafe and aggressive. Mind you he was in a big Chevy truck and we were in a Honda. Not a good way to promote your business if you ask me. Very scary to say the least. read more

Do not use Benchmark they are frauds, they take advantage of the elderly and will steal your money and spray your house with water claiming it's poison. They took advantage of my 80 year old grandmother and came to her house to spray, nothing died and the guy who came was only there for less than 10 minutes and it's a 5 bedroom house plus a kitchen and two restrooms. We also have the guy who sprayed on CAMERA not doing a good job, just barely entering the rooms. He also showed up in his own car.. we called and they don't want to come back unless we pay them again and said there's not refunds. Please do not go to them you'll be sorry. Also they will block you on social media if you have any complaints instead of helping out their customers read more

Great - call them now! I was hesitant to use them because of the mixed reviews, but I decided to give them a try. The beginning was a little frustrating with miscommunications, but being that it is CoVid-19 and we all need to have more patience overall it was fine....BUT their service was beyond wonderful! I called on a Friday regarding a bird problem, they looked at the job on Saturday and came out on Sunday to do the work!!
