I called Western Exterminator Company to get a quote on removing pigeons from nesting between our roof and our solar panels. I had seen their vehicles at my neighbors houses a couple months back. They were able to come the same day to give the quote, and offered to clean out our gutters while they were up there for a fair additional cost. They were easy to work with, and even offer a payment plan if needed. When they came to do the work, the employees were respectful and did a thorough job. read more

Rather than writing a typical review, I'm pasting the text of the letter I sent to this company. It will tell you everything you need to know about their dealings. I will be calling your company in a few minutes to cancel my business with you, but since I never can get through and get stuck in your voicemail hell every time, I'll notify you this way also, to cancel my account with your company effective immediately, and advise you I have stopped the auto debit from my bank account to your company. You will not get one more cent from me and I will no longer do business with your greedy, incompetent company whose technicians rarely if ever show up when they're supposed to - who changes phone numbers all the time so customers can't reach you for questions, much less complaints - whose voicemail system keeps us in voicemail hell over and over with "press this number and press that number and blah blah, blah " - then if we ever do get connected, you route our calls through a Call Center where we are spoken to with canned responses, cheesy platitudes, and our questions aren't answered because those Call Center employees don't have all the information that they need to answer our questions, and that's YOUR FAULT for giving them the SCRIPTS with the language for how to respond evaded to your customers. Even more disgusting is you training employees to evade questions and lie to your customers. You're taking advantage of people needing jobs and then you train them that it's OK to lie to customers, and double talk us like politicians. At least three of them did that to me yesterday. I asked at least 3 different Call Center employees 'yes or no' questions and got double-talked every single time, and NEVER had ONE of my questions answered with a "yes or no" answer, even though I eventually ended every question with a "that's a yes or no question" comment, I still got double talk gobbledygook! You should also be ashamed for the price gouging, as well as the underhanded business dealings you do, but of course I know you won't be because you only care about lining your own pockets. And while we're talking about money, I would love for you to try to explain how you can justify 10 minutes of service at my house bi- monthly, yes that's only six times a year - and charge me well over $500 for that year! Don't even think about telling me that your chemicals and your trucks and your offices and employees, etc., justify that! Hey, here's a thought - stop opening new offices and try treating the customers you already have in a fair and humane way - how about that? And now let's talk about the dirty little trick that you try to play on seniors, reminding you that this is a form of elder abuse; when we call your business number and our call is answered by a robotic voice, and it states "if you're over 60, press 1" -?you and I both know that is meant to make seniors think they're going to get a senior discount, but as soon as we tap 1, that same robotic voice starts trying to sell us medic alert equipment! There's a name for that and it's called "bait and switch" and I'm pretty sure it's illegal. But we both know you're getting away with it on a technicality. I just wanted you to know I'm on to you and disgusted by your tactics Hopefully, right now you have figured out how angry I am with your company. I am so sick of this company. The service was fine considering I didn't know what they were doing. Our Subterranean service was done on April 11, 2024. I was told beforehand that the full payment was due when the job/service was completed this same day and that was fine. I "handed" a check to the employee for the full amount owed. A couple of months later I heard from the company via e-mail, telling me I still owed them the full amount. Evidently the check I gave to the employee never went to the billing department, who knows where it went. I called the company here in Bakersfield, CA and the employee I spoke to gave me the PO Box to send the check to, the same as I'd already sent to. This was June 26, 2024. On July 17th my bank sent a message staying the check had been returned, undeliverable by the post office. WHAT NOT AGAIN. I called the billing department and was told I still owed the full amount for service. I explained that I had paid it twice, but I checked the bank account while on the line to confirm they hadn't been paid. I told the employee that I would pay it directly through my bank AGAIN that day. This was on August 6, 2024. The bank stated they would receive payment by August 13, 2024. On Friday, August 9, 2024, I received an e-mail from a collection agency to let me know Western had turned me in for non-payment. I was shocked they would do this, especially three days after I had spoken to the billing department employee and "thought" everything was alright. (I haven't included employee names on purpose. I don't want their reputation marked due to what the company they worked for did.) I have NEVER received even an apology from this company. I think that would be a nice gesture due to the fact that the first time it was THEIR employee that didn't turn in the check, the second time IT WAS THEIR employee that gave me the incorrect address to mail the check to. This is terrible customer service, and I would never refer them to anybody. read more

I had the 360 plan and had made an agreement with the company that they would come out when I called so I could be home when they serviced my home. Well, they kept coming out when I wasn't home charging me for services they couldn't perform because they didn't have access to my property. I am so frustrated with them. Update - After calling around to other companies I decided against my better judgment to go with this one. They came out just to get rid of the gophers. They had a 30 day guarantee, and of course I had to take them up on it. They ended up coming out twice, but they took their sweet time doing so, I assume in an effort to get more money from me. The guy originally quoted me $350, but changed it to $300 if I threw in the dog house I had sitting off to the side. After the 30 days passed I still had gophers. I never got rid of them!!! Contacted them again and was told the matter would be "elevated" to someone higher up. Waited several weeks and called back only to be told it was "elevated". A few months have passed and I never heard back from them! Wasted $300 and my time! Saw their booth at the fair back in October and tried to get some info. The guy at the booth was too busy carrying on with a personal conversation to pay us any attention. We called their office to get some info as someone out to the house to get rid of some gophers and have yet to hear back from them. Don't waste your time with this company! read more

When purchasing a new home you want to feel confident on the buy, we had a few days to do the termite inspection. We called at least 5 other companies to schedule something ASAP, there was at least a 10 days waiting... but Western Exterminator had the ability to schedule us in within that weekend, the technician was very knowledgeable and helpful. read more

Last year Western came to my home in Pine Mountain Club and sprayed for ants. Great job - charged me a fair price. Problem solved. One year later to spray again to do the SAME job - they want to charge 25% more. I asked the person why the prices for the same job, same location, same technician is not the same a year later, he didn't have an answer. I'll look elsewhere, I'm not a fan of companies who take advantage of customers and raise the price so much in a short amount of time. My exterminator Ezekiel is awesome! He's always on time and is very polite. He doesn't mind coming back to spray twice if I need him too.

These folks charge $80.00 a month for outdoor service. They change techs constantly so you have to retrain them constantly. Even though they are a big organization they fail to transfer information from one tech to the next. They want a 4 hour window of service so you have to cool your heels until they feel like showing up. They don't have their trucks stocked with items they might need. Each technician has an different excuse. Use them if you want poor service. read more

This exterminator service offers non toxic options. They come on a regular basis and if necessary come more often. I asked for a spray for black widows. They told me they don't come out in the winter here so I don't need to spend the money till Spring. I appreciate that. read more

Not only do they provide poor service, but they're thieves too. We received a bill for $250 after a year of no service and when I called and spoke to Mark he said it was if I wanted to renew services. We have used this company for 16 years but will no longer continue with them. For the last 2 years i have repeatedly tried to get the company to call me before appointments and to leave a note saying they have been to my home to spray. These should be standard policy but it does not happen. The main reason i am no longer using them is i have roaches all through my house, alive, constantly. As a matter of fact as i type this i have my feet up on the desk so i don't have one run across my foot! Its very sad! i never had problems with the office staff. I wish I could give 0 stars. As a real estate agent I am appalled how awful my first and only experience has gone. My client called to schedule an inspection. They gave them my contact info so western termite could get ahold of me to gain access into the property. No call, when I was finally able to get ahold of the office they had the dates mixed up, address incorrect and I was told I would receive a call back immediately to get a correct date and time. Nope! Instead I get a call back the next day that the inspector is on his way to the property, even though I told them I needed to know the day prior in order to get access set up to open the house because I was an hour away from the home. Their 2 hour time window is a joke. I have worked with plenty of other companies that have no issues giving a specific time because they know how long the inspection takes and also factor in drive time. Besides their still an hour late. I have let the office know and all they do is say sorry, don't even try to get someone else out. They should at-least have something worked out where if someone is running late with a previous client another inspector should be able to step in. I have been sitting in my car for 2 hours now waiting in 86 degree heat. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM. So happy I don't have anything else to do with my life but wait around.......very disappointed. This place is HORRIBLE!!! Do not do business with these people! They have miserable customer service reps. I called in and got to talk to a miserable person named Christy who was hostile and unhelpful. the only thing I could find out was that a previous renter at my home had an outstanding balance with the company. So instead of trying to work this out and take the previous renters forwarding address she insisted that anyone could make up that information and that she couldn't help. I questioned their reasoning behind this decision which in-turn turned into me being rude. Than I simply asked to talk to her supervisor which before she put me on with him she decided she would make up a little lie to cover her tracks. Rich the "supervisor" was just as bad I asked him to check if any documents were signed by me or my wife and that stumped him. He said let me look into it and I'll get back to you. So ok no big deal I said I hope we can settle this and do business together. Boy was I wrong not only did she come up with a new lie but she claims I said what was that bitch's name?? LOL!! What a ridiculous lie! Don't you think she would have told him that yesterday when I first talked to him?? Amazing how all of the sudden she came up with a new lie because she realized what she did was wrong. So anyways when I called rich back I told him this was ridiculous and she was obviously lying other wise why wouldn't she have told you this yesterday? He simply said Goodbye. For years we had great service from Western, always a consistent day and time, the tech contacted me the night before to make sure the time was good as I have a childcare business and we try to avoid having a bunch of kids there when he would spray. The last 6 months however have been very inconsistent, the tech no longer calls, service is not thorough - missing areas of my home that HAVE to be sprayed as we now have spiders where I NEVER had spiders in 10 years of consistent service - the day is no longer consistent either, I never know when or if they will show up and was actually skipped over 2 different months, was promised an account credit for those months and it never appeared. I have been thinking about switching service for awhile. They came last month, refused to spray my classroom and told my employees they would call me and come in to spray it on Saturday and of course that did not happen. I need consistency, I need professionalism and I need honesty from a business and that is not what I am currently getting from Western. read more
