I come here when I don't want to travel into Raleigh or Durham to go to one of the big box stores…read more They also carry the line of BGE (Big Green Egg) products - a huge plus, but their stock is limited. It's difficult to suggest they are competitive when their stock is limited to empty slots for what might be competitively priced items and large selection of higher priced items. As Angela pointed out, the staff isn't particularly proactive about finding out when items will be re-stocked or helping a potential customer find what they need. I cannot remember how many times I've walked in here only to walk out empty handed because I could not find what I was looking for and there was little or no help from staff. If the savings (extra gas and time vs price tag of items) is worth it for me to head to a big box store, off I'll go. Latest example for me was stopping this past weekend to find a new faucet for a bathroom sink. There were only one or two brands available at this T&C location, and nothing on the shelf under $40. That's not to say there wasn't something priced under $40, it just wasn't in stock. Off to the Big Blue Borg box store I went and found exactly what I was looking for, for about $25. That's more than enough of a difference for me to shop at the big box stores. For small items, T&C isn't a bad place to stop, for specific home projects that might end up in a higher price range - it might be wise to do some www research before stopping in.
