Wonderful coffee and even better employees. I'm from out of town and they were so so sweet. They helped me with recommendations on what to do. Such a good vibe.

Tourist here stomping through the winter tundra our way toward Starbucks when we turned left and saw this local coffee shop. Amazing service, local entrepreneur, roasting their own coffee from around the world. Today the espresso was sourced from Minas Gerais, Brazil. Homemade syrups. I enjoyed the raspberry vanilla latte with coconut milk. Shop local.

I was visiting from Los Angeles when I tried this coffee and it was delicious!! And quick . The price was around 7-9$ a latte and definitely can taste the quality.

The last time I came to Buffalo I lucked across Overwinter Coffee and immediately knew a good thing when I tasted one - I came here for a vanilla cappuccino every day of my trip and really enjoyed it! The staffers here are really friendly, and their coffee is excellent :-) Tip: This shop is easy to find, as it's right across the street from the convention center

Sometimes on my layovers I'll look up coffee shops that do latte art and that's how I choose where I'm going to go. On a snowy Monday afternoon I braved the 8 min walk from my hotel to come here. I told the barista that I chose this shop based off of the Yelp/google photos I saw showing latte art like hearts and such but I was let down that my $6 oat milk chai tea latte was watered down and didn't have any art. After getting my cup and questioning why it was so plain I was later informed that you can't really do art on chai tea lattes. At least not here. Anyways, I wouldn't be such a negative Nancy if the drink was actually good but it wasn't. It was watered down with a hint of chai spice flavoring. The space is small, the decor is cute, pastries look tasty and I'm sure they have amazing coffee because I sat at the window seat and watched several customers go in and out choosing local over the Starbucks across the street. It just wasn't my cup of tea.

Small menu but has all the essentials. I ordered a Honey Latte. Fresh baked items and clean space. Would visit again!

For views, you can't get much better than Overwinter. The inside is currently closed but the bar style seating at the window looks directly out at the Buffalo Savings Bank building and it's beautiful gold dome. Thankfully the outdoor tables have the same view and more! Currently you order at the doorway and all drinks are in to go style cups and food is served in paper bags. That was fine with us as we sat and enjoyed the shade on a warm day and then went for a walk around the block as we finished our coffees. We ordered a cappuccino, maple latte and a blueberry "Plop Tart." Good coffee and anytime someone offers maple flavoring, I'm in. The plop tart was as you can imagine, their version of a Pop-Tart and as one could imagine, much better! Great place to grab a coffee to go or sit outside, but not so much a place to camp out and work. Love the turquoise accents, including the espresso machine and outdoor tables. Would definitely recommend stopping by here!

We stopped in for the first time and I could finally say I've been to all three overwinter locations LOL. This location is more smaller with very limited indoor seating like 4 seats by the window. They also have outdoor seating (but still unavailable for now since it's been raining). Coffee was always delicious, and the lady who worked behind the counter is friendly and great customer service. A must stop to get your caffeine fix. Will be back!

The coffee is excellent, the place cute, the staff charming - but the options for bakery goods or other breakfast-like snack options is far too limited, and the few cling-wrapped items have stronger competitors...

Definitely one of the best brews in Buffalo. Their pour over is only $3 and so worth it. I got the strawberry flavor and it really did taste like strawberry jam without very much acidity at all. The person behind the counter suggested pretty much a perfect brew. There is only a little bar table inside and a few tables outside, so it's not the best place for a sit down meeting, but they do have wifi. Best to just grab and go and find a nice outdoor seat. If you're looking for a place to sit down and park and work, this probably isn't it - but if you want one of the best (taste-wise and value wise) brews in Buffalo, don't miss Overwinter Coffee serving the downtown community.

I stumbled in here at the recommendation of a friend, who knows was a serious coffee snob I am. To put this in perspective, I travel the world for work...and I make it a point no matter where I am to seek out serious coffee providers that are passionate about what they do. I am happy to say, this is one of those places. The owner happened to be working the day I came in, and made me a seriously awesome cappuccino with his Strawberry roast. After a nice conversation about the different roasts, I tasted my capp and immediately understood why he calls this the Strawberry Roast. IT TASTED LIKE STRAWBERRIES. Sweet, tart and oh so good. (I ended up buying a bag naturally). I was equally impressed that he went out to his car to get coffee that he roasted the night before! If you are as serious as I am about coffee and demand quality, look no further. This place is literally as great as it gets.

Overwinter's roasts are delicious. I recently had a cappuccino with The Blueberry and it was a special treat. If you're looking to elevate your coffee break this is the place to go. It's got a cozy atmosphere and sometimes other patrons are willing to chat, making for a touch of humanity in a cold world.

    Blueberry-Lemon Scone.

I was in Buffalo for a conference across the street from Overwinter Coffee and did not want Starbucks, so I thought I would give it a shot. When I walked in, I was amazed at how tiny the shop is and there are only two seats in the window, so no place to enjoy coffee and work/relax. I ordered a small drip coffee and a blueberry-lemon scone. I was quickly provided both and made my way back to my hotel, to find a place to sit and work on my computer. The first couple of drinks of the coffee were not too bad. The coffee was very earthy and nutty, but had a strong bitter aftertaste. I even added cream and stevia, but it would not cut through the bitterness. After trying the scone, I wish I could get my money back. It had absolutely zero flavor and was so hard, I thought I may break a tooth. It was like eating a brick! The more I drank the coffee, the worse the bitterness became. It was sad, but I couldn't finish either. I love supporting local businesses, rather than chain restaurants/shops, but Overwinter was a swing-and-a-miss. Unfortunately, I will not be back.

Perfect for two people to sit and chat. Not good for a family or children. We did have our three year old and new born. We had never been here before and had already made our toddler wait to get a croissant so we had to make it work. If you know you know. But he is well behaved so it was fine. Upon entering, no one greeted me, and I felt rushed while looking over the menu. When I asked questions, it felt like I was inconveniencing the employee rather than being helped. I ordered the blueberry lemon bar matcha and hoped the drink would redeem the experience, but it was disappointing. The flavor combination didn't work well in a matcha drink, and it left a strange aftertaste/coating in my mouth. I also specifically requested no dairy (asked for oat milk) yet it still came topped with cold foam, which upset my stomach. It looked cute, but for nearly $9, it wasn't enjoyable. I had originally planned to order food as well, but the overall atmosphere and interaction felt so uncomfortable that I decided to just take my drink and leave.

Fun coffee shop in the heart of downtown Buffalo, definitely worth a visit…read more I was staying at Hotel Lafayette for a couple of nights and right before I checked out I decided to swing by to grab a coffee. While you can enter from the street, it's also connected from inside the hotel, which is honestly how it caught my attention. The space is actually pretty big, bigger than I expected. It's open, colorful, there's a ton of natural light, cool murals all over the walls, luscious greenery, and a variety of seating options. The counter where you order is nice and open, with a big menu, and a sheet of glass between the customers and what I quickly came to know is their staple item, the cruller - a donut-like pastry that's super airy on the inside with a delicious icing glaze on the outside. Along with my oat milk latte, I had to try one... ok two. I got a seasonal Pride one and I can't remember the other one. Both were dreamy and it was easy to see why they are so popular. If I lived in the area this spot would totally be a go-to for working out of when I want to switch up my scenery.
