Stopped in on the way to biking. They had some amazing lattes and pecan tarts. Would recommend a stop if reasonably close.

We loved visiting The Junction at Niagara on the Lake. Great environment and yummy coffee. We want to come back to try a flight!

1 Star Terrible…read moreCustomer Service and Unacceptable Treatment We visited Grist while vacationing in Niagara Falls, Canada, and I was honestly shocked by how unfriendly and unaccommodating the experience was tonight. The woman who was not even dressed appropriately, literally wearing short tight biker shorts - didn't smile, rolled her eyes and wasn't welcoming, she immediately made us feel like we weren't wanted there. She insisted we be put in danger of the barking pit bull dog who was there. And I told her that we didn't feel safe sitting next to a pitbull that kept barking at us for no reason by the way my dog did not respond at all to the pitbull who's barking at us because she's a trained service animal. I was traveling with my fully trained service dog from the United States, who was clearly wearing her service dog vest. Instead of allowing us to dine inside, she insisted that we needed some sort of service dog identification card. I politely offered to show her a letter from my healthcare professional confirming my need for my service animal. That wasn't good enough. I also explained that my dog has a registration/license number issued by my home city in the United States. She wasn't interested in that either. She just kept insisting on a card. Ontario does not require service animals to carry a special identification card, so I found it incredibly frustrating that someone working in hospitality seemed unfamiliar with the province's accessibility requirements. To make matters worse, it was raining outside, there were no outdoor heaters, and she was telling us we would have to sit outside with my service dog. Meanwhile, there was a pit bull nearby that kept barking at us. Who wants to sit outside in the cold rain, without heaters, while another dog is barking at them, just to have dinner? We were visiting from America and had been looking forward to enjoying the area, but this experience was incredibly disappointing. There was no warmth, no hospitality, and seemingly no willingness to listen or find a reasonable solution. I don't expect special treatment. I expect basic courtesy, respect, and an understanding of accessibility rules, particularly from a restaurant serving tourists from around the world. I would not recommend this restaurant based on our experience. Management should seriously consider educating its employees about Ontario's service animal laws and how to treat guests with disabilities respectfully. A smile, a little kindness, and some basic knowledge of the law would have gone a long way. Canada is awful
