They couldn't get a water or some a soda, or order an appetizer - just had to sit there outside on a bench until "the full party showed up." How effing rude. The place was at 10% occupancy when we arrived. The lodge style theme is nice. Lots of wood, trees, mountains (of course), and some peahens walking around outside. I did really like our server. He had a great demeanor and was attentive without hovering. Always kept the water topped off. The food was - fine. Probably the best of everything was the pita bread. We all liked that, from texture to freshness. Onion rings were slightly undercooked so the first bite kept wanting to pull out the entire onion. Smoked salmon on the spinach salad was really salty. The broth with the French dip was very bland and seemingly watered down, lacking that rich umami that makes an item like that great. The BLT with turkey was pretty good with that turkey add-on. Beer battered fries were good. The creamy chicken artichoke soup - no. Taking high vinegar canned artichokes and putting that into a dairy-based soup is not a good idea. The flavor had that "I'm starting to curdle" impact. It would be way better if they they took frozen artichoke hearts and added that so the cream, chicken, and earthiness of artichoke came together properly.

The ambiance is adorable. The service was friendly and great! The general manager was very kind and she made sure we were happy! I think they could provide homemade dressing or better options, because of how wonderful everything is else and were handmade etc. :)

Kristin was particularly kind and made sure that the kitchen, which was late with our food, got it out to us asap. I got the chicken in sandwich. It just was ok. We had a great Thanksgiving brunch last year at your restaurant with impeccable service, so we were looking forward to the brunch here again this year. Unfortunately, by the time we left, we felt our Thanksgiving day was completely ruined -- this is probably the worst experience we've ever had at any restaurant. Our reservation time was 2:45 pm, and we did not get our table until a little after 3:15 pm which we understood since the restaurant was very busy. After we sat at our table, no staff came to our table for good 15 minutes. I finally stopped one of the gentlemen in a suit with name tag on for help. He said our server will be with us shortly. Another 10 minutes passed, no help. So I decided to get food first while my husband was still trying to get some help. He had to ask three other staff members to order our drinks. After our drinks were served, no staff returned to our table and asked how our drinks were, nor asked if we need anything while we were at the table. We saw other tables were attentively served and were enjoying good Thanksgiving meal, and we simply wondered why we were not having the same experience. Because we did not know who our server was, we had to stop one of the water servers and ask for a check. When we received the check, I addressed the server, who brought the check (shown as "Ian" on it), how disappointed we were, and received a robotic "I am sorry" response. As we were leaving the restaurant, I saw him comfortably sitting at one of the chairs in front of the fire place near the front reception desk, checking his cell phone. We left the restaurant feeling very humiliated, and are still feeling puzzled. I hope my feedback can help you improve your customer service quality, so that your future customers will feel well taken care of. Happy Thanksgiving.

Yes, a little pricey, but as expected being at a theme park. It did take a while to get our food, but honestly, after getting it, the portions were actually quite large. Our 3 plates of food was way too much to feed our family of 5 (though the three kids are quite young). And it was all honestly pretty good. Zero complaints on the quality of food. The 4 stars comes from the peacocks. At first you think it's kinda cool there are a handful of them hanging out while you eat, however they quickly become a nuisance. I watched one of them jump straight onto a table people were actively eating on and start trying to eat someone's food. There were also tiny feathers flying around all over the place, so we were constantly trying to keep them out of our food. I wish they were either more contained, or not there at all

After about 6 hours of non-stop rides and waiting, we decided to get off the walk and grab a bite to eat. Due to more extreme rides planned for the rest of the day; we opted for sharing a plate and not indulging in much more. The Pork Carnitas Nachos honestly were a good 10/10 for me because I was starving. Friend said more a 8/10 for them. The service here sucks! Unless it's the teenager where you pick up your order up from; forget it otherwise. You order at the counter. They give you a buzzer thing that will buzz after your order is ready to pickup from their window. Seat yourself if you can find any room. They also do have an outside patio area which is nice but unfortunately it was all packed. At the counter when you order everything for your party, you get your beverages. The cashier (I'm thinking she was either German or European ... which actually would have been lovely had she actually cared to be there). No manners. Very rude even. I didn't understand the "buzzer" system and in my party there was one Coke and one Diet Coke. Now, which one is which b/c she just shoved them towards us. I wouldn't have cared but my friend might have. Anyways, what ever happened to pushing the one little button on the plastic lid like we did back in the 80s-90s. Nevermind.. I'm getting old;+) So we found a table for two right by the bar with two little barstools. We had absolutely no issues with waiting (fyi, it was about 20 minutes). Engrossed in conversation, I feel something crawling underneath my feet. My friend did too. "WTF? Are there mice in here"? Nope, just an angry old lady sweeping underneath our feet (BTW, we hadn't received our order yet at 20 minutes) and I guess she thought we sat there for too long just drinking and not eating. FFS - When the nachos eventually were ready, the young 15 year old or so was friendly and gracious at the pick up window. If you want utensils here though, you have to ask the pick up window. When I asked for a fork they were plastic and ungloved bare-hand handed it to me with the actual fork in between his fingers. Plenty of napkin dispensers but not very hygienic if you want utensils. Side note- Whether you just go to the restaurant on it's own or are enjoying Lagoon Amusement Park, there is a bathroom located inside the restaurant that is actually clean (unlike all the restrooms circulated throughout the park). Store is clean but customer service and employees need big time customer service training! I'm giving this review a straight 4 for decent food and an amazing day. Sadly the restaurant itself is only worthy of a 3.

Recently we had a not so great experience at a chain steak house and this more than made up for it . Worth the drive from Slc for sure . Bobbi was our server and she is the best we've had . Kept up with fresh bread and a carafe of ice tea. She was super personable and fun . The bread to start off was very fresh , soft and with the butter- chefs kiss. 3 of us got Salads and I chose the French onion soup . The broth was delicious and even though it was packed with flavor -surprisingly light. Salads were hearty and veggie forward . 3 of us got steak plates but have to mention how huge the county fried steak was -with an option of country gravy or brown gravy . That definitely will keep you full . The steaks were juicy-cooked, to perfection. My snow crab kept me occupied for most of my meal but I rarely get the option to add crab to a meal so why not. It was absolutely fantastic with the butter . We all left with doggy bags . I also had made a reservation a week before we knew we were going to visit as from photos I was not able to tell how big it was. It actually is quite huge . There are covered wagons that seat up to 10 , a private banquet area and table tops available. The decor is fun and you can actually walk around to see more of it . Since we had a reservation we didn't have to wait but there is a bar in the front incase you wish to grab a quick drink while waiting for your table . If you're a steak lover and have an appetite, definitely add Prairie Schooner to your list . I can definitely see it being a popular spot for Mothers /Fathers day and celebrations . Perhaps even take on their 20 oz Porterhouse and pair it with one of their cast iron desserts to celebrate. Until next time , Thank you for the great dining experience.!
