I was 40 feet from the door, and the smell wafting toward me was fabulous. Inside, there were several bakers preparing muffins and other goodies (for the next day?). Lucy was waiting on a woman who had driven down from Brattleboro. This woman was praising the decaf coffee, and baked goods. I opted for a lemon bar and an almond croissant with chocolate. The woman approved. Quick digression - very clean bathroom, w an interesting painted sink (see pix)....and an old Remington typewriter. The lemon bar was amazing. My lips were so puckered the rest of my 50+ mile ride home, I was fantasizing about my good friend, also named Lucy, and what I could do with those puckered lips. He took over the cash register and rushed my mom through the payment process.
