Probably not the best idea to order the funkiest drink on the menu for my first go around. Doesn't get much crazier than Purple Yam Bubble Milk Tea. There were literal yam chunks in the tea, which I wasn't expecting. Thought the potato would be blended in to give it more of a smoothie texture, but boy was I wrong. That being said, I didn't actually hate it. The outside of the shop is really cool, with nice decor. There are at least 2 other boba places from recognizable national chains a couple blocks away, but this one is locally owned. I stopped by about a half hour before closing on a weeknight. There were a couple customers already seated in the dimly-lit space. It looked like a college hangout, with a few tables and ample space to mill around and wait while being serenaded by Taylor Swift (the soundtrack of the night). I don't tolerate caffeine too well after a certain hour, so I was happy to see that they offered a decaf tea option in the form chamomile -- an unusual option at a boba shop. I got a hot chamomile tea with bubbles and half sugar. The bubbles were rather soft, even for a hot tea drink, and sweeter than I would've preferred, but it still hit the spot on a rainy fall night. If there were a next time, I would get 30% or no sugar added to offset the bubbles and the natural sweetness of the tea. The employees seemed nice, but I didn't interact with them much. The human-run register only accepted cash, so I ordered at the kiosk to use my card.

I usually go for the ice cream, but the Japanese (gf if you don't get the ones with cookies or pocky in it) crepes that come sweet or savory, drinks (especially if you go for their special light up, reusable, refillable, lightbulb receptacle that comes with a travel cap when not in use) and their specialty "Dragon's Breath" are so fun and tasty! Absolutely worth the stop into this little shop! The guy who is behind the counter is always friendly and quick. The inside is quaint and has nice music going on. When I got my light up drink, they had slight (not obnoxious) rave cover music and it went with the light show in my drink! I take all my out of town friends, and honestly local ones too, here and it's always a great experience!

We've been to a lot of the restaurants in Northampton and decided to jump over to Amherst to try a new to me restaurant. This was a cold and damp afternoon, only a day after a snow storm. Mom was excited to order her Tofu Bahn Mi, but I was really looking forward to a big bowl of hot Chicken Pho and a Summer Roll. Our friend tried the Rice Bowl with Steak and Shrimp and a Bao Bun which was delicious. My mom loved her sandwich. The bread alone was enough to make me decide that I must try one next time. My Pho broth was well flavored. The chicken pieces were slightly smaller than what I'm used to from other places, but there was plenty to enjoy. There was an adequate amount of noodles, basil, sprouts and jalapeños. My Summer Roll, while quite enjoyable, was a little difficult to eat. I'm used to having my roll cut in half and this was served whole. The wrapper started to fall apart at one point, but I made sure that I didn't lose anything.
