Maple Farm Foods was a little bit confusing for us because we didn't realize it was actually a grocery store with a deli until we were inside. They had signs claiming to have the best burrito in town, and a huge banner with these dancing, colorful jalapenos and we thought this was a Mexican restaurant, we felt like it was false advertising to be honest. However, once inside we saw that they had quite a number of halal and Mediterranean items so really; I would say this 'maple farm' is actually more of an ethnic store catering to Mediterranean delights more than anything else. I just don't understand why confuse your customers with all the Mexican food signs, then all the Mediterranean food inside, and then having the name "Maple Farms" which would make me think it's probably something like Atkins farm up the street. I hope you find your identity one day Maple Farms, and maybe then, I'll visit you again.

It has been a while since we have visited Maple Farm Foods and after our most recent stop, we realized why we love this store. This store has a HUGE selection of grocery items, a hot lunch buffet and anything else you may be looking for. Some of my favorite items include their freshly made peanut butter, their selection of unique cheeses as well as their selection of deli items. This store also has a small cafeteria which is a great place to spend a lunch break with friend.

"I look like a farmer But I'm a lover…read moreSo you can't judge a book By looking at the cover" (Bo Diddley) If you ever find yourself in the very cool city of Easthampton, MA, be sure to check out their modestly sized Farmer's Market in the heart of downtown. The market is in a parking lot behind 50 Payson Avenue and during the summer it is open on Sundays from 10-2. There is plenty of parking on the streets that surround the market, or in the park across the street. It's a "Producer Focused" market, meaning that the vendors are expected to "grow, raise, produce, or create their products themselves, or they will provide unique products that represent other local farmers". There was live music on site which was a nice addition to the vendor booths that offered local vegetables, fruits, meats, seafood, dairy, eggs, grains, nuts, flowers, wine, herbs, crafts, clothing, and specialty products. We saw one food truck on site, from the Wicked Whisk.

We stopped by an art booth which provided kids the opportunity to make a cool craft. It was a bird feeder using a cake cone and a string of Cheerios on a pipe cleaner to act as the holder. This was a very creative idea! The gal running the booth was great and she gave our little friend a bag of bird seed to place inside once we returned home. I also stopped by the Creme Bru.LA booth because I freaking love crème brûlée. I sampled 3/4 flavors: maple, earl grey, and sweet corn. All so tasty! We ended up getting one of each and enjoyed them on this warm day at the picnic tables under a tent. I think this is a unique business idea and wish them well. Check them out on IG: cremebru.la. Also they have a market mascot, a tortoise named Tortilla who is the coolest! She was just wandering around the booths having a grand ol' time.

There is also a kiosk you can use if you don't have the app. The roads in this area can be a bit challenging to navigate. If it's a nice day, just walk over. The interior is very high energy. I love the metal musician sculptures. The huge diorama by one of the entrances shows this spot in Worcester when the canal was the main source of traffic for goods. This is after all The Canal District. Today the canal is under the street just outside that door. Times they do change things. I very much appreciate these types of eating venues. Where everyone can get what they want. Sushi, Cuban, Burgers, Italian ice, Boba, Cookies. Options. For shopping you'll find a wine merchant, The Market Pantry sells loose teas, oils, spices and kitchen goods and an Irish goods store, Erin gift shop, sells beautiful Aran Island sweaters, Muckross brand hats and purses along with other Irish inspired items. A few high tops are located along one wall in a hallway toward the back. We found one larger table in a small alcove nearby the high-tops and then there is an open area at the front that hold about twenty tables or so. A microbrewery is attached to the market too. All the vendors we spoke with were very friendly. Definitely could have walked away with so much food and loose teas and gifts. Check out their social media pages for special events and spot lights on businesses.

Soft guitar music playing while all the beautiful foliage surrounds all the various kiosks. Like something out of Pinterest. I feel like the photos don't do the actual experience justice. Overall, I thought the stalls were decently priced and we bought a lot of items ranging from fresh beets, garlic, mixed greens, to fresh cheese, and mushrooms. Apart from food and produce they sell yarn that comes from the wool of local sheep. I saw a distillery stall where they were handing out samples - it had quite the line. A stall that sold dry teas and infused syrups (I bought one actually) Maple syrup, soaps, I could go on. There's a booth for those who use Hip and apparently from $10 you get $30 to spend so it's a place where even those on a low budget can come and take advantage. Then there's the food which, you should definitely try. It was our first time trying food from Afghanistan and it was incredible. They were like these dumplings filled with either meat or squash, we chose the squash, and then it had lentils on top and a rich yogurt sauce that was absolutely phenomenal. I mean, honestly, it was a great experience, and the place itself is so beautiful, it's no wonder that there's lines of cars parked and others waiting to find parking. That's the only drawback, finding parking is gonna be rough, but when you do, ohhh the goodies that await you! I honestly wish I lived here, I'd be at this farmers market every Saturday.

Set in the open Nevers Road Park, this market offers a variety local goods and a fun morning. When my friends and I walked over from nearby parking areas (which were plentiful and easy to get to), the smells of freshly cooked donuts from Faddy's Donut Shop and the sounds of a Grateful Dead tribute band met us. After grabbing some donuts, instead of sitting in the nice rest area set up near the band, we began down the line of stands. We found a little of everything we wanted and more!! We grabbed a couple slices of pie from Granny's Pie Factory, a brown butter dark chocolate chip cookie from LaBrioche Bakery, a couple of jars of homemade artisan teas from Whole Harmony, and a bouquet of freshly picked flowers from the Syme Family Farm. Shopping here can get a bit pricey, for example, a South Windsor Farmers Market tote bag was $5; however, you're supporting local businesses, many of which don't have storefronts. It's well worth chipping in a few extra bucks with the quality of the goods and the personal attention you receive at the stands. I would rather save my money and spend it here than at big chain stores that don't need it. Every vendor we went to, especially the individuals at the Syme Family Farm and the Whole Harmony stands, were extremely kind and helpful. The vendor of Whole Harmony allowed us to try a couple of teas he had out as well as the lavender lemonade (all of which were extremely delicious); he also told me how to properly steep the teas and gave me a loyalty card that offers a free jar after ten purchases. The vendors at the Syme Family Farm stand told me how they handpicked each flower, and wrapped up my bouquet--which was thoughtfully put together with care--and put it in a plastic baggie with wet paper towels around the stems to keep the flowers hydrated after I asked if they would be all right since we were not going directly home. I was very impressed by these two vendors' professionalism and kindness. The South Windsor Farmers Market is definitely a farmers market you need to check out!! It's open every Saturday in the morning (which is an extremely convenient and great time) from the middle of June until the middle of October. The organization running also has a list of what vendors will be there each week on a document on the website. You'll really enjoy every minute of being at this market, and you will undoubtedly find spectacular goods!!
