We stopped at this little gem on our way back to east end coming from rum point, and it was perfect timing. We had a seat right above the water with a spectacular view of the sunset. There was no wait and the staff were prompt and very friendly. Drinks appeared quickly and when it came time for food everything was perfect. We started with conch fritters, not too crispy, not soft, just golden delicious balls of conch goodness. I had the curry grouper and found it perfectly cooked and seasoned. It was empty when we got there on a Tuesday morning, and we got seated right away. It was just past breakfast time, but since it wasn't busy they agreed to serve us breakfast. Everyone was nice and the restaurant was cute and view was gorgeous! The food was ok. I got the fruit platter with cottage cheese and it had nice fresh fruit , I also got the breakfast quesadilla and it was good. My husband got the waffle and did not finish it, which is very unusual for him. He said it was tasteless and mushy. He wanted to order avocado toast but they were out of avocado! lol. As we were leaving another group was just being served their lunches and they looked and smelled amazing, so, maybe we just ordered wrong and or hit it at an off time. Great spot with fantastic view on the North side of the island. We came for the sunset view and wasn't disappointed, however, the bugs came out in a fierce way, so we packed up our food and took it back to our rental. Food and drink was really good, staff was super friendly, and they do provide bug spray if you come in the evening. I wouldn't trek out that way for this restaurant, but if you're on this side of the island, it's definitely worth stopping in. This restaurant was close to our house on our trip, most of the reviews seemed pretty good. A common theme of negative reviews was the pace of service. We sadly didn't have a lot of good things to share about the service. It took over 70 minutes to get just half of our food. Some of the food was very good, some of it was awful. Located on the north side of the island, this restaurant has a beautiful view if you sit outside. The inside is nothing fancy and a bit run down, but outdoors is where its it if you dine here! The food is nothing crazy, but you'd mainly come here for the nice view, casual atmosphere, and convenience if you are already in this area (not a ton of restaurants on the north side.) The bread basket is quite good, though. Expect the service to take some time. They are not quick. read more

We came for dinner after a delayed flight Saturday night. The food has constantly gone down hill over the last several years. Service is poor, and they don't seem to care. We ordered the Greek Salad and Curried Grouper. For my taste, there were way too many black olives in the Greek Salad but my wife loves black olives, so she was ok. The Curried Grouper was seasoned ok. The plantain was over cooked and the stemmed vegetables were room temp. The service was excellent. The staff were very attentive. The grilled Mahi Mahi tasted like the grill flared up with lighter fluid. The vegetables were great. I just don't know what they did to the fish. They were lovely filets, but the seared taste overwhelmed the flavor. The view WOULD be fantstic, but there's an extremely bright LED strip along the deck rail that completely blinds you if you gaze out at the ocean. They had a board to cover it when we complained, but it was still awful. My husband, a long-time Carribean sailor, said his dark and stormy was " the worst he ever had". October 9 and 13, 2022 If The parking area is full there's plenty of street side parking across the street. The views are amazing!! Staff is very friendly and polite. The menu has a lot of variety in the Stafford gladly explain preparations. Service was prompt, and we were checked on as well. The grilled grouper is delicious, and we suggest grilled as on one visit we had it fried and it was really undercooked. The staff gladly took it back and we decided on grilled grouper again. The fish and chips crispy, tasty, but the portion size varied considerably between visits. The key lime pie alone is worth stopping in for! Melanie, thanks and we will be back. read more

We had a disappointing experience. woman who took our order was very curt. Steak sandwich listed on menu as Angus steak with cheese and mushrooms came as a piece of steak on a roll with lettuce and tomato. steak was about 3/8 " thick with rim of tough gristle. When we inquired where the cheese and mushrooms were they tried to tell us we had to order those additions specially. When we pointed out the many listing they said there was a mistake on the menu. and yet the woman who'd been there the day before got the steak sandwich and it came with the cheese and mushrooms. We came here on a recommendation from a local. Most of our recommendations have turned out pretty great but this is a big no. We were seated fairly quickly and the friendly bartender attended us really well. He was so nice and sweet with the kids and our drinks were delicious. The view is lovely and we sat outside however it was so frickin hot we were all sweating like crazy by the time the meal was over. There is no ac inside the restaurant either, it was even hotter inside. The waitress ignored us but when she wasn't ignoring us she was annoyed with us. She asked if we had questions but then when we asked her questions she answered one and then said if we weren't ready then she would come back. Then she didn't come back for 15 plus minutes. Once we ordered our food it didn't take too terribly long to come out. The food really wasn't good, but we ate it even though my mom found a fly in her shrimp meal. After we ate I had to go to the register to pay and the waitress was talking to someone familial while ringing me up. This was the most expensive and the worst meal we have had our whole trip. If you are going for drinks, make sure you see the nice friendly bartender. But if he isn't there, avoid this place at all costs. He is the only reason I gave an extra star. read more

Do not eat here. We visited Ovet the Edge on past trips and enjoyed it, but went recently and it was horrible. After we were seated, we noticed two cats roaming the restaurant including waking on empty tables and going back into the kitchen. Then, they came to our table and kept jumping up on members of our party, to the point of scratching and drawing blood on my mom's leg. When we brought this to the attention of the manager, they simply gave her a band aid. When the food came, four of us ordered the grilled mahi mahi and it was inedible. Completely over salted with a weird carcinogenic after taste. We sent them back and got burgers instead that were just ok. The bill came and we were shocked that it was not adjusted at all, particularly for the cat incident. We had to stay and fight with the manager to at least have my mom's meal comped. Will never return and don't recommend that anyone eat at this unsanitary place. read more

Great views and good atmosphere even after it gets dark with the lights on the patio. Food was good, not a far drive from Rum Point compared to other options. We probably would have tipped 30% without the push, but then they forgot our dessert, cleaned our table three times without asking if we needed help or were waiting on something, and then charged us 25% while not even comping a dessert that took over 40 minutes to get to us. The shrimp (which appeared to be more like 3/4 pounds!) was cooked to perfection in a nice spicy jerk sauce--DELISH! The fish wrap was lightly battered grouper with red onion, diced fresh tomatoes, lettuce and a caeser-type dressing. It also came with amazing french fries that were crisply done to perfection. After visiting the Crystal Caves on the west end of the island, we were searching for a restaurant close by for our party of 11 to eat lunch. Over the Edge turned up minutes away. Why not? Well, I'll tell you why not. First, it took us a while to flag down a waitress to seat us. After being seated we notice that the table was not wiped down. We noticed a milky substance on the table, later we realized it was the combination of condensation and a dirty table. Oh sh*t! A cat just jumped on our table. And do you like flies, one just got stuck in our ketchup, I think this how fossils are preserved millions of years from now. We finished our lunched and literally ran out of the restaurant. Be warned, this was the worst dining experience we had on the island. If you visit the caves and had a similar mindset as us, do yourself a favor and find other options. read more
