On our cruise day here, we opted for Governor's Beach and this restaurant is managed by the Westin next to that beach. This cafe is part of the Sunshine Inn located across the street from the Westin. Local bus $5 usd each way from the tender area. Voted top tacos on the island, we decided to try the shrimp and the grilled mahi tacos. Local caybrew lager was a nice complement. $7 local, bottled water $3.50 local Lots of seafood in both, I requested mine without any mayo drizzle, hubby's shrimp tacos have on there. Choice of flour, corn tortillas or lettuce. My corn tortilla was virtually petrified from old age but hubby's flour ones were malleable! 2 to an order $15 cayman$$, so add 20% for USD. Credit cards accepted without any markup. Cole slaw included and the piquant vinegar on the tables was a zesty addition. Complimentary mini ice cream cone was a tasty end to the meal. Despite gratuities included, service was very friendly, helpful, and prompt. Other option was Yoshi's next door for sushi, will visit there next time we are in town!

We're glad we found this restaurant. Across the road from the Westin in the Sunshine Suites hotel, the grill is unassuming. But the staff is wonderful and the food tasty. We got breakfast one time, which was good and filled us up. Came again for a taco Tuesday lunch. Tacos weren't fancy but had good flavor. They have a nice bar if you want any beverages. I wish they had a steak/beef taco. But this place is a good value. And if you are a Westin guest( and a Sunshine Suites of course) you can charge your food to your room.

We dined at Sunshine Grill twice during our trip to Grand Cayman. Loved the food, drinks and service. We had breakfast and lunch. I highly recommend the banana oats Pancakes. They were delicious and not too heavy as my went straight to an excursion after I ate. The jerk Tacos were delicious and had a kick to them. The Frosé helped contain the heat from the Tacos it was refreshing. Chef Viceroy stopped by our table and everyone was so friendly. I'm looking forward to going back and trying more menu items.

3.25 stars for food, 4.5 stars for drinks. 3.75 stars for service and 3.5 stars for space. Came here a couple times during a trip with friends--first time we ate a late lunch. Got some tacos to share, to be specific the famous island fish tacos, shrimp tacos and jerk pork tacos ($16 each, two tacos per plate) which came with a side of coleslaw each. For appetizers we ordered the deep fried jerk chicken egg rolls $16), wahoo escovitch ($12), and mahi bites ($14.50). The shrimp and pork tacos were better than the fish tacos, the fish was a bit bland. I would definitely order the shrimp tacos again, they were perfection. The wahoo escovitch was edible but was a bit of a letdown only because we had a deep fried fish escoveitch at Peppers the night before and it was soo amazing in comparison. Mahi bites were bite-sized morsels of crunchy exterior and decently cooked interior. The egg roll wrapper was kinda thick and doughy in a way that isn't quite pleasant for egg rolls (I prefer crispy), and though the filling was edible the flavor wasn't quite to our liking. There was something weird tasting in the sauce that tasted astringent like window cleaner which was kinda strange...not sure what that was from. To drink we had three cocktails $11 each--the peach basil summer smash, ginger sunshine, and painkiller. All were delicious! So terrific we came back the next day for another round of afternoon drinks.

Food service and ambience. This place amazing. One of my top 3 places to eat in Grand Cayman. Second time in grand cayman and second time here, I will be back for sure !

    Taco trio with pineapple slaw

Awesome gem of a place! Great service from friendly staff plus awesome food. We had the taco trio with rice and beans and the Rasta pasta. Everything was delicious. Had a pina colada too which was very tasty. We will be back.

I think this is a great little spot tucked away in a resort/condo complex. The food was tasty and the drinks were good. Great indoor/outdoor locations. They give you little complimentary ice cones at the end of your meal - just a nice little touch! The prices are a bit steep for lunch, but it's a traditional spot.

    Wahoo appetizer! A must get!

First time in the Caymans and wanted to try some authentic tacos. These hit the spot. Spicy yet sweet. Explosion of flavor.

Fish taco's and calamari & shrimp... "3 tiny shrimp!!"
    Ray V.

The ambiance and service were great.. haven't been here in 2 years due to Covid. The fish taco's and local beers were great, but the calamari was tough and the shrimp (3) tiny ones were a disappointment, hence they moved down from what had been consistently 4 stars.

Whoa. This meal absolutely knocked it out of the park…read more I think it all started with meeting our server, Taj. I'll call myself out, I couldn't figure out where to check in for our reservation (100% a me problem, not theirs!). The kind gentleman who saved me from wandering through the wrong gate ended up being our server, and his recommendations were spot on all night. We sat in the screened dining area, which I'd definitely recommend unless you're one of the lucky people mosquitoes don't seem to notice. The menu is gorgeous and immediately gets you excited to order. There are so many creative, tempting options that choosing wasn't easy. We started with the tuna crudo, and wow...lights out. One of the best I've had anywhere. For my entrée, I followed Taj's recommendation and ordered the tiger shrimp with the chili oil on the side. Great call. I could add just the right amount of heat without overpowering the incredible red miso sauce. The sourdough served alongside deserves its own shoutout, it was fantastic. My husband had the snapper and loved every bite. The accompanying salad was fresh, bright, and tossed in an outstanding citrus vinaigrette. By the end we were completely stuffed and couldn't squeeze in dessert, which may have been the biggest disappointment of the night. Guess we'll just have to come back. Excellent food, warm hospitality, and a memorable dining experience. Ms. Piper's is absolutely worth a visit.

Ms. Piper's is right next to the Hampton Inn. The taxi driver recommended it when she dropped me off, and the front desk helped me secure a reservation. I was seated quickly after a pleasant greeting. Even though there were empty tables, the ones that were occupied had smiles and joy on people's faces. The place definitely lives up to its slogan, "share the love" -- I felt it. I started with a cocktail called La Vie en Rose, which was especially fitting since it's one of my favorite songs to sing. My server, Juanjo, was friendly, always smiling, and gave me great recommendations. It was a very relaxing experience. Watching him move around his tables, I noticed he was smiling even while clearing dishes. He moves with vitality and lifts the energy of the whole place. I told him so. The butterfly snapper was beautifully done -- both taste and presentation. The croquettes were tasty with the sauce, and the pepper had just enough spice to remind you it's still a pepper. A good combination. I ended the meal with a cup of rooibos tea. Highly recommended. There are so many dishes to choose from -- and the meal I had was definitely too much for one person!

Definitely make a reservation! Our table (#46) was waiting for us when we arrived, and Michael took wonderful care of us all evening. He made choosing from the menu a little easier, though that's no small task when every dish sounds better than the last. The cocktails were outstanding. Don't overthink it, just order one (or two). The house bread comes with Johnny Cakes, and they absolutely deserve the hype. They're somehow the perfect cross between cornbread and a beignet, dense, slightly sweet, and completely addictive. Pace yourself... both literally and figuratively. For appetizers, we had: * Ceviche of the Day - Wahoo when we visited, and incredibly fresh. * Tuna Tartare - This was exceptional. The sauce alone is worth writing home about, grab a spoon because you won't want to leave a drop behind. For our entrées, we both chose the Catch of the Day. My husband ordered the wahoo cooked medium-rare, while I had the grouper. Both were perfectly prepared and absolutely delicious. We couldn't leave without dessert, so we ordered the Coco Taco. I couldn't even tell you everything that's in it, but if you love chocolate, this dessert is pure happiness with layer upon layer of chocolatey goodness. Cracked Conch was the perfect way to end an amazing Grand Cayman vacation. The stunning setting, excellent service, and memorable food made it one of our favorite meals of the trip. Be sure to add it to your Grand Cayman itinerary!
