I wish they would join the yelp waitlist feature. My rating is for the food. Service is inconsistent. On our first visit, service was non-existent. Our waiter disappeared and food took about 40 -60 minutes to show up. This is after a 30 min wait to be seated. My chai latte was lukewarm as was our food. Our waitress from our second visit made up for the shortcomings. She was great and checked up on us several times. My chai latte and food came hot this second time around. I've had the fancy burrata and build your own omelet (2 toppings). They were absolutely delicious. We also ordered the 3 eggs with ham and a side. We all enjoyed our meals. Note that If you want to add anything extra to your meal, it's an extra charge but for us, the pre-set meals were more than sufficient. The menu is limited but it has your basics like pancakes, Belgian waffles and the 3 eggs with a choice of meat and side plus some more creative dishes like the fancy burrata. I saw someone with the avocado toast. I wouldn't get this because it was half of an avocado on a toast (not mashed but the actual avocado). Gazing upon the mysterious Milky Way, I went out for a lovely brunch day. Pistachio latte to start, made me green with envy of the lavish layers of flavor. The nuttiness detailed the pure rich flavor, and the oat milk was as fresh as can be. My meal a French Toast was so authentic. I looked to my friend, whose name starts with C, pretended to twirl a mustache, and said Oui Oui. The berries and fruit made it a cornucopia with a fresh taste, and the maple honey syrup, or as I now call it the Canadian Bee Juice, was out of this world! We wanted to give this place another chance, but service is horrible. Plenty of available seating, hostess tries to seat us next to a table with a parked stroller situated between the tables. I asked to change to the table on the other side which was open. She rolled her eyes and muttered "fine". We browsed the menu but no server came by. Someone dropped the check off to the table with the stroller, but they didn't stop to acknowledge us. At that point we got up to leave. As we were approaching the door, one of the SIX staff hanging out at the register said, "why are those people leaving?" Maybe stop chitchatting and actually work?? Arrived at this place Saturday morning place was super busy which is a good sign usually - there was a 25 minute wait but we're seated in about 15 minutes. Ordering was slow but the place was slammed. I ordered eggs Benedict with skirt steak instead of ham and hubby ordered skirt steak and eggs. Eventually it showed up and of course mine was wrong and was not steak but rather ham and it had to go back to get fixed hubbys was ok except the steak was small and shriveled up. Eventually mine came back and was correct. Hubby felt the steak tasted old and reheated but I thought it was just the marinade/ gave it a strange taste. I would go back probably not at any peak days or hours it was insane and not a pleasant experience at all and it is by no means cheap. Food wise it was decent. The tables are close you could potentially be sitting on top of the next table so the ambiance wasn't so great and it was pretty loud lol. This is my first time coming back to over easy after their remodel expansion. It was 10:30 on a Sunday so definitely the brunch rush hour. We walked up to the front counter to put our names on the list. Another man behind, cut us in line and the hostess looked past us and answered to him first which was a little disheartening to say the least. My boyfriend and I decided to sit at the counter due to the fact that we would probably have to wait 25 minutes for a table. It took about 5-10 minutes for our server heather to greet us but she was super sweet. She took our drink and food orders right away. I ordered the steak and eggs while my boyfriend got the Belgium waffle with a side of eggs and bacon. The eggs I got overeasy and the yolks were runny. The steak had a lot of flavor and was surprisingly more tender than I thought it would be. My boyfriend liked his waffles but felt like there was a little bit too much whipped cream. Also his eggs could have used more seasoning but that's why we have salt and pepper shakers. Overall, a good experience other than the greeting in the beginning. Good food and a chill environment. 2 stars for their lack of decent management. Not one to complain, and wouldn't haven't even posted a review if they handled the situation a little better. Had a hair in my food, and not laying on top of my food - which possibly could have been my own - but it was deeply embedded into my dish. Quietly informed the server who said he would go get the manager. The server came back and said that the manager was "too busy" to come over and she would adjust the bill. We got the bill and they took off $5. $5 off the $15 meal that wasn't eaten because of the hair. So a hostess was setting up a table next to us, I told her the situation and she went to get the manager. She then came back and said the manager was "too busy" to come over and that I should pay the bill and the manager will adjust it after business hours. I politely said no and again, asked for the manager. She then came over, asked what the problem was and when I told her she said she didn't see it. We informed her that the server saw it, brought it to her attention and that her reply was she was "too busy". She then said it could have been a hair from my eye brow lol weird thing to say, and I said or it could have been a bristle from a brush they use on their grill (which is exactly what it looked like); again it was embedded into the dish, not laying on top. She was extremely rude and unpleasant. So if you're wanting to try this place out I suggest going to the Holmdel location - I've never had an issue there and their management seems to know what they're doing. read more

First time here. Like the place a lot with a few minor annoying things. They have a good unique menu for. breakfast and lunch. Hope you like avocado because its in 75% of the food. So when you choose your toast, they ask if you want butter, or jelly or both. Weird but ok. Ask for butter. Toast comes out with a little biodegradable cup with this tiny hard star shaped piece of butter in it. You need like 4 of these to fairly cover 2 pieces of toast. Ask for ketchup,you dont get a bottle, they portion out another little biodegradable cup half filled with ketchup. Again,weird and annoying because now i have to wait for the already busy waitress and ask her for a normal adults amount of these cheap extras, along with another refill on my already small sized cup of iced tea. Time to give people enough butter and ketchup the first time. Having to ask for them over and over isnt very cool with the already steep prices for the food. Having to order a separate side of potatoes with your $19 benedict is kinda pitiful. Include potatoes for that price. The stuff we ordered tasted great , good coffee too which many places seem to mess up, but not here. Flies have been a nuisance in a lot of places lately. Always fun to constantly have to swat them away from your plate. Had that happen here also. Its become a running joke when we go places and wait to see if we will be attacked by flies or not. Restaurants really need to get fly catcher lights or something. This is my wife's go-to brunch spot. We have to go every time we are in the area and I'm not necessarily upset about it. Located in a small plaza you can miss it if you aren't looking. Seems like it is the go-to brunch spot in the area. One thing you should know off the bat is that the lemon ricotta pancakes are out of bounds! So good. We order these every time we go. I also tried the Meditterean omelette and it was just ok. Tasted like an omelette from the local diner honestly. It needed a little seasoning. I also tried the nutella pancakes and they were good too. The brunch here is usually on point. I have had pretty much everything on the menu and you have a 90% chance of having something good. They have expanded the dining area too since my last review so the wait is a lot less. Make sure to get here early on the weekend since that is when the crowd picks up. Sometimes when I first come to a restaurant, everything is new and exciting for me at the eatery. I order and thoroughly enjoy my given dishes. At a later point in time, I return only to find myself disappointed. It should be noted that I may order the exact same thing because I enjoyed a particular dish greatly, the first time. I suppose I was hoping for consistency. I find myself most often disappointed with breakfast/brunch places. Well the spell has been broken! I have frequented OEK's Marlboro location several times already and everytime it has been nothing short of a wonderful dining experience. Believe me, when it comes to brunch eateries, I am hard to please. The restaurant has an open floor plan where your server can see you and respond to you when you need anything. While some might say there is an industrial look to the place, I find it very aesthetically beautiful and modern. The place is immaculate as when the previous party leaves, the staff really take their time to wipe the table and seats down. I am a stickler for clean tableware and often get annoyed when there's obvious lipstick or food particles stuck on. OEK must run their cutlery and everything into the dishwasher twice because everything is sparkling. I always excuse myself to first visit the restroom to wash my hands after ordering. If they have a clean bathroom, chances are, they have a clean kitchen. Either upon going or coming back from the restroom, and it enables me to survey the kitchen. I see the cooks all working adroitly and needless to say, considering how busy the establishment is, the kitchen is clean. They have many areas for dining: the farm table found by the front and by the windows, the regular dining tables and finally the counter. Their excellent service is ubiquitous. On to the food! My spouse had ordered Protein Breffy which consists of scrambled egg whites, grilled chicken, sauteed spinach in olive oil with garlic to accent, and multigrain toast with sliced avocado on top. The egg whites were moist, soft and dare I say, fluffy! They were not undercooked by any means. The marinated grilled chicken was also perfectly seasoned as well as moist. The spinach leaves incorporated baby spinach leaves quickly sauteed in olive oil and garlic. While some might say there's nothing special about sauteed spinach, try these and it will make you look to see if someone's grandmother is in the back cooking for you. This time I had ordered Lemon Ricotta Pancakes. It was nothing short of amazing. Two large, light and fluffy pancakes on a lemony sauce on the bottom and middle. The wild berry compote had two versions utilized in these pancakes. One is the one found in the middle. It is found to be just a tad more broken down than the ones on top of the pancakes which is found to be handled less therefore was thicker. They then added whipped mascarpone which was creamy yet thick as the final topping. I found the pancakes to be light and airy without that rubbery feel as I was cutting it apart. The sauces were not overpowering and enhanced the flavor of the lemony ricotta. For added protein to this carb brunch, we had a side of bacon strips. They were crisp and had just the right ratio of fat to meat. The only thing I would find flaw with this is it was very greasy. Perhaps they could have blotted the grease before plating and serving them. We both enjoyed their bottomless house coffee. I found their coffee to be well balanced, smooth with good aroma. Special thanks goes to our server Katie. She was constantly on top of our order and anticipated our needs. They currently have two locations: Marlboro and Holmdel.
