I've been in the shopping center and didn't even know this was here. Called and made a reservation which was available. I loved the decor and it's so cute inside. Everyone was super friendly. I was excited once I looked them up to see they offer specialty coffee as I'm a big coffee fan, but when we arrived, the menu was different. Not a problem-I get things change and rotate. The options they had weren't really for me, but they let me tweak some thing, it wasn't bad. Maybe they'll have different flavors I like more next time. The food was really good though. I got a bowl and they let me sub egg whites. The potatoes were really good. Would definitely come back.

Pleasant experience and so many great brunch options at this cute cafe. I love eggs Benedict and was so excited to see such a cool new take on it with the Southern style Bennie with fried chicken on a biscuit! It was delicious! My husband ordered the steak and eggs and he said it was perfect, a ribeye, small salad with vinegrette and the crisp potatoes which were so tasty. Crispy on the outside, mash potato like on the inside! We tried their specialty lattes, he had the tres leches which was delicious and I had the banana bread one which was ok but the banana bread on top made up for it. We ordered pop tarts and buns to go and they were the perfect treat at home. They were reasonably priced which makes eating out to brunch more frequently possible! Will definitely back!

I love a brunch spot that can hit the mark and then some, pulling off a relaxed vibe from the moment you walk in the door. We were more early birds to the brunch scene (around 9:15am) and had the pick of where to sit. Our server was so sweet and we actually ended up meeting the owner who to our surprise we met when he used to serve at Metropolitan Cafe in Freehold. The wait wasn't long for our food and boy they didn't disappoint. My only critique is to have more poptart flavor options. Besides that, the Nutella poptart was flakey and deliciously made from scratch. You don't find many places that serve shashuka and theirs was hot, which was different than we've had in the past. Still cleaned off the plate. Bacon was crispy and southern style Bennie gave me happy feet (YUMMY). And the stuffed avocado was divine. Highly recommend sweet buns for friends and family alike. We'll be back soon!

The food was delicious and good portion. I feel their selection was vast they have breakfast and lunch items. I found the service to be attentive and fast. The place is cute and well decorated. Overall a keeper in my book.

Planned a breakfast outing to some place new and Sweet Buns was the place! Newly opened, small, friendly staff who was very attentive. The front is cafe like with a small dining room in the back. We started with two cinnamon buns. We could have eaten 12. Soft, warm, not overly sweet and delicious! (We took 2 to go to enjoy at home!) We had two kids meals of pancakes and French toast, the boys enjoyed the butter/cinnamon deliciousness. I ordered the breakfast bowl which had two different types of fried, crispy potatoes, bacon, tomatoes, perfect avocado, cheese and the eggs of your choice. The hubs got a Benedict with fried chicken, hot honey, on fresh biscuits and a creamy sauce. It was also served with the amazing crispy potatoes. Add this to your breakfast bucket list! We will be back for sure!!!

I can't believe I waited so long to come back to Harvest. What was I thinking ?…read more We went out for lunch to celebrate my friend's birthday and Harvest turned out to be a great choice! The location is a little further than we would normally travel, but it was worth it. I loved all the farm to table foods they have. They even nicely promote all the partners they use right on the wall of the restaurant, so you know where all your food comes from. Everyone loved their meals! I had the Thai chicken sandwich and it was so flavorful and delicious. It came with a side and I picked baked sweet potato wedges that were really good and so memorable that a week later I am still thinking about them. Other dishes ordered were the chicken salad and strawberry salad which my friends both enjoyed. Our server was very good and didn't rush us as we were just chatting up a storm. The restaurant suggests reservations which are a good idea, especially for dinner. I will definitely be back and can't wait to put Harvest on my restaurant rotation. Sorry no photos this time... the food was just so good and we were hungry!

Tucked away in a small town, you will find a cozy nook to discover American cuisine…read more Brand: 5/5 Harvest is a small restaurant in Farmingdale specializing in New American cuisine. The entrance stands out in this borough, despite its small size. I do think that sign with the wooden background reflected the cozy interior quite well with a homey style. The country décor on the walls also enhances the aesthetics. Website: 5/5 It wastes no time, for it immediately opens you to the menu where most of the items have their own images. I appreciated the minimalistic design where the understandable font provides you with the information. The basic description of the establishment does say that they rely on locally sourced ingredients. Ambiance: 5/5 Normally, dark interiors would not necessarily work for eateries unless they achieve a cozy vibe; which is what Harvest did perfectly. The wooden walls provide a sense of comfort underneath lights dim enough to not offend the eyes but bright enough to see. Despite the cramped space, I did think that the interior fitted the ambiance, along with the smooth country music playing over the radio. Service: 5/5 The staff was quite jovial and patiently explained a part of the menu. We had no issues with our orders. Wait Time: 5/5 I did wait awhile for the meals, though we managed to get our orders without any interruptions. Food: 4/5 I ordered the Grilled Chicken Thai Sandwich with no additional sides, with a free, complementary glass of water. It has ciabatta beard containing grilled chicken, spinach, cucumbers, and Thai sauce. I do not know if the signature sauce is authentically Thai, but I will say that I could barely tolerate the pungent taste and smell. I cannot say whether it is the feature. Every other part, such as the spinach and the cucumbers, definitely complemented the grilled chicken with a juicy taste. The ciabatta bread buns managed to hold their form, even as the contents started to fall off. Worth The Money?: 2/5 I will say that Harvest brand has as much of a highfalutin status as its prices. While the restaurant reflects the New American cuisine, it does not come off as condescending. Nevertheless, I still thought that the limited menu items just do not help with the prices. For the website, I would suggest a list of all the farms and independent distributors that Harvest relies on for ingredients, and to include a backstory about how Harvest began and where the name came from. I find local-sourcing incredibly important and commend Harvest for incorporating this into their business model. Concerning the food, I will say that the Grilled Chicken Thai sandwich did have suffice within the ambiance. The wait time it took to make the meal was appropriate enough. I will say that the wait time did feel long within the establishment, especially when no one else was around. Nevertheless, the service did make the food worth the wait and the ambiance worth immersing in. With all of this being said, would I say that the overall price would bring me back? Not really. Even the complementary water could not win me over when compared to the prices. Prestigious New American eateries tend to have a focus on specific consumer bases, and I am just not one of them. I do not score low on this part out of spite, rather based on my current station and many other people. I did tip the staff and I did have enough satisfaction with the meal. Rating: 4/5 Stars I do not know how Harvest would carry itself into the future, though I can see how it would suffice as a New American restaurant. Recommend To... Anyone with enough disposable income looking for a quiet restaurant.

Our first visit was so positive that I specifically requested to sit with Nick again, and I'm so glad I did. Nick is an outstanding waiter--friendly, attentive, professional, and genuinely warm. He made us feel welcomed from the moment we sat down and went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. His positive attitude and attention to detail really elevated the entire experience and made our birthday celebration feel extra special. Because of how wonderful this visit was, we will absolutely be back, and not just by ourselves--we'll be bringing friends and encouraging family members and others to visit as well. The Skillet Restaurant has earned lifelong customers, and Nick is a huge reason why. Highly recommend both the restaurant and asking for Nick if you want an exceptional dining experience!

We were seated immediately upon arrival (party of 4 at 11:15 on a Saturday!) and ordered a variety of menu options. Loved the variety of the menu , there was truly something for everyone's taste ! The Lemon Orange ricotta pancake was phenomenal and I love that they offer a single pancake (plain or specialty!) as a side so you can have your sweet treat post meal - more places should do this! The Fried rice under the coconut shrimp wasn't cooked super well; this was probably the most disappointing menu item. Their iced coffee can also be ordered to go; I had a black iced coffee so not much to review but the coffee itself was tasty! Loved the decor of the restaurant but it was very noisy and chaotic. Need something to absorb the noise to make for a much nicer experience. Overall definitely would return, especially if eating outside on a warmer day!

Walking in felt like going to a carnival--bright, lively, and full of energy. I initially expected a simple diner, but I quickly realized it's much more; there are so many menu options that it was actually a bit overwhelming in the best way. My daughter ordered an iced vanilla latte along with a California omelette, which came with breakfast potatoes. I had a regular coffee and a croissant sandwich with bacon, ham, and cheese. They also have a great kids' menu. My granddaughter had a blueberry pancake with scrambled eggs on the side, and she absolutely loved it. The service was fantastic--our server was very attentive throughout our visit. The ambiance was also perfect for a mid-Friday morning: lively but still comfortable. Definitely not 90 mins.. My daughter just had to have Brownstone. The worst part of the wait was their system. They do not notify you by text or restaurant pager. They come to the door and yell out a name. If you miss hearing your name or they mispronounced your name, they pass you by. That's crazy considering the amount of names they get and the house doesn't pronounce it correctly The food: All of our order was VERY good. Only complaint. My skirt steak was cooked well, not medium well. But it was not over cooked. Was still tender and delicious. If you can't tell by all the photos. We took a lot of food home. The waitress was really attentive. But it looked like all the staff was attentive. Not over bearing at all. Super busy place. And they only take 1st come, 1st call. But make a waiting list as it gets crowded. The seating was a little tight. And that was throughout the place. Nice menu selections. So we'll be back to try few other items. Clean restrooms which are a plus for me. DEFINITELY would recommend this place.

Their fancy scramble breakfast includes fluffy, soft scrambled eggs, along with sort of a Pusheta tomato base with fresh Muzzarella! This is about as close to heaven as you can get.
