Spiked Chai
Ashley L.

Ruben was our server, he greeted us quickly, super friendly, and checked on us regularly without being overbearing. The manager even stopped by to say hi and check, which is always a nice touch. Atmosphere was relaxed, music not too loud, easy to have a conversation. Drinks: Brunch Mule (pearl vodka, bitters, OJ, ginger beer) - refreshing and summery, but the ginger beer must've taken the day off. Still tasty, just not what I'd call a mule. More like its cousin who shows up at brunch uninvited. Spiked Chai (bourbon, espresso liqueur, cold brew, chai tea, cinnamon) - now this one was a winner. I'm not usually a coffee cocktail girl, but I can't say no to bourbon or a chai. Perfect breakfast drink. Just give it a stir, the bartender is generous, but if you don't mix it, you'll be taking straight shots of bourbon by the bottom. (Not that I'm complaining.) Food: Waffle Dog - sausage link dipped in waffle batter and fried. Fun idea, but the execution? Batter-to-sausage ratio was way off, undercooked, and the sausage was somehow lukewarm at best. It felt like the dish wanted to be at brunch, but didn't set an alarm. Hard pass. Monte Cristo (husband's pick) - shaved ham and Swiss, battered, griddled, with tots and house jam. Absolute perfection. Crispy outside, melty inside, piping hot, and that jam? HANDS DOWN the MVP of the table. We liked it so much we got extra to go. Even the tots were shockingly good; crispy, golden, and not sad cafeteria style. Biscuits & Gravy (my forever weakness) - cheddar jalapeño biscuit (yes, jalapeño, and it worked beautifully), scratch-made sausage gravy, and two eggs over medium. Biscuit was fluffy and light, jalapeño was subtle but present, and the gravy? Rich, savory, and comforting. Not your classic sausage gravy, but still fantastic. The hash browns though... sigh. I ask for extra crispy everywhere, and apparently that request just goes into the void. These were pale, limp, and nowhere near crispy. At this point, crispy hash browns in the Valley are starting to feel like Bigfoot: rumored to exist, but never actually spotted. Overall: Prices were right, service was excellent, and most of the food hit the mark. Skip the waffle dogs, order the Monte Cristo, and guard that house jam with your life. We'll definitely be back, though I'll keep holding out hope that one day, somewhere, my dream of truly crispy hash browns won't be just a pipe dream.

Letty!!! I love her. My Navigation system was going crazy... instead of getting the fastest route; I got the scenic one. I landed at OE 20 minutes before closing. I walked in , just as they were getting ready to cut off food service. The look on my face... I am pretty sure it was a combination of disappointment and defeat. Letty was kind enough to let me in. I sat at the bar, to make it easier for the staff and also that way I can get beverage refills, faster. I asked Letty for recommendations and she suggested the Chilaquiles, The Basil Melt, Cajun Hash, Chicken Fried Steak & Eggs, and Banana Nut French Toast. The very first words that came out of my mouth... I need a drink and Letty suggested their Bloody Kicker- Bloody Mary/Maria--in addition to the Green Chile Vodka it also has Spicy Ghost Tequila. Letty did a fabulous job putting my drink together I love a great pickle and piece of bacon-- it's a snack before eating I ordered the Chilaquiles Christmas style with softly scrambled eggs, and diced avocado. The eggs were cooked to perfection... It's very rare that I get scrambled eggs that don't end up being hard as rocks. The Chilaquiles were the perfect blend of crunchy and soft chips with their chicken Tinga. My only complaint is that I had to do a major excavation to get to the chicken, it was buried. I really enjoyed my meal and my drinks-- don't judge but I had two. Letty allowed me to enjoy my food and said I could stay, while they were closing up. I really appreciated that, I did finish before they did. I definitely would go back just because of Letty's amazing customer service and personality.

I went in around 10:30am on a Saturday as I wait to pick up my wife from the airport. I found them on Apple Maps and I'm glad I did. One thing with breakfast places is they use a godly amount of oil or butter but this place did not! But let's get to the review... Walked in and briefly greeted by a lady at the front. She was super friendly and asked if I wanted bar or table and I decided the bar. They had some sports playing. I was quickly greeted by the bartender Monica who was super sweet and gave me a run down of everything. I did a build your own egg white omelette and it was bomb! It was not oily like other breakfast spots. They also used fresh jalepenos and not pickled which is !! I love fresh jalepenos! So points there! It came with a variety of options for sides and I went with the hash that was sautéed with onions! Sourdough bread also on the side! I also had their fresh OJ which Monica said they made this morning which is another big point. I went the healthier route for my options but they also have a tremendous amount of sweet breakfast that sounded delicious and I will be back for a cheat day Monica did a great job and super welcoming! Would recommend this for some breakfast/brunch

I took a quick girls trip this week. This was our first stop as we were ready to eat! (After being up since the 5am hour to catch a flight from Long Beach). Our first impression was great. It was such a CUTE and happy vibe!! I loved the combo of blue, white and yellow. We arrived about 11:15am. It wasn't very busy at all, which is good as we were on a time crunch. I ordered lunch but my friends all ordered breakfast. They enjoyed their food and I thought mine was fantastic! I got a side of ranch for my sandwich, it was great! A *good* ranch! Another fun tidbit is that this restaurant was on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. When traveling, my husband and I like to find Triple D restaurants to try out. This one was a hit and I would absolutely eat there again.

Chilaquiles

Best Chilequiles I've ever had !!! Service was great and I love that the kids had something to play with too. Wish we had one in CA :(

Second time here! The first time I liked it. I now know, oI can come here and get a great breakfast! Plenty of locations to choose from. Today, My daughter and I came in on another Sunday funday! We must of missed the rush. Yay! The young man greeter us and grabbed drink orders. We ordered Chicken and waffles and Pigs in a Blanket on a stick! Let's just say we both did my food dance! Waffle was fresh and hot. Chicken was juicy and seasoned well. Now the PIB! Delicious. These were always my favorite as a kid very hard to find. Unless you make them yourself! Thank you OE for bringing me back to my childhood memory! Well done! Until we meet again!

This is not my usual high marks for OE, but their air wasn't working, my poached eggs were overcooked and I didn't love the location as much as the new one by me in Tempe. Great service and the staff was very friendly!

The interior is pretty long with a large number of seating inside the building so we had no trouble getting seated right away by the hostess. We decided on food relatively quickly due to previous experience with the business, however, our waiter never came around to take our orders or even give us water at the table. We saw one girl with dyed hair who unassumingly could have been our waiter since she was in our section but only worked with one particular table and ran to the back after each time, but never addressed our table or came by. We eventually had to flag a different waiter down who was able to help us place the order and service us for the rest of our visit, she also informed us that this other "Waiter" was supposed to help us but she wasn't sure why she never made an attempt to do so after having us wait 20 mins and other tables were being serviced. We ordered Flordian French Toast and Elote Breakfast Burrito (plus a couple sides and drink) which were both really good, and filling. Prices weren't too bad for what we ordered and was able to take our mind off of the rather long wait to get helped. Not sure if we'll come back to this particular location again, but it was nice trying the restaurant out another time.

I normally get the sunrise breakfast sandwich and it hits the spot. I love how they toast the bread with butter so it's extra delightful when you bite into the sandwich. They also have fresh squeezed orange juice! The service to me has always been normal- not over the top but also just enough to know you are being taken care of. Perfect when I'm half awake on the weekend. The weekends can get pretty busy but there is a good amount of parking available. Coffee is pretty good for a fast casual restaurant as well + a fairly good price.

One thing to know is there is no table service. You order at the counter and they have a lot of choices so if you have never been there it's hard to decide while other people are waiting behind you. I came with my mom and we were craving pancakes so again didn't get any eggs which is what they are known for and their breakfast pizzas. So I'll come back to try those. We split buttermilk pancakes and a cinnamon roll. They do have real maple syrup but of course they up charge for the good stuff. The pancakes are ok but don't taste like buttermilk pancakes. They looked good but it definitely tasted like a mix and not a good one. They were way overly sweet. They weren't terrible but just not great. 4/10 on the pancake scale. The cinnamon roll also tasted like a store bought premade roll. It was also kind of burnt and didn't taste like anything. The only good thing was the coffee which I was highly skeptical about because it was serve yourself from a carafe. But it was good and strong. Nice views of the mountains and the patio is dog friendly. I want to like this place because it's in my neighborhood so next time I'll try the eggs dishes. Also they have several veggie/vegan selections so I'll come back for those too and to bring my dog.

The staff was friendly throughout our stay, and the overall property has a relaxing atmosphere that makes it easy to enjoy the sunshine and scenery. We booked an upgraded suite with a separate bedroom and TV room, which gave us plenty of space to spread out. While the layout was great, the room itself could use some updates. The bathroom fixtures were older--the Kohler toilet didn't flush well and was a bit noisy, and the tub/shower combo had rounded sides that made it tricky to stand comfortably. The shower water also never got fully hot. The room had a slightly musty smell, and the carpets would benefit from a deep cleaning. The balcony screen door didn't close tightly, which let a few flies in, and access to the second floor required two sets of stairs since there's no elevator in that section. Even with those issues, the resort's location, views, and overall vibe made the stay enjoyable. With some room refreshes and a bit more maintenance attention, this could easily be a standout property. The setting alone is worth experiencing.

I was looking for a good staycation while also earning American Airlines AAdvantage miles and…read moreloyalty points to maintain my status for another year. I found a great AAdvantage Hotel deal at the Hilton Phoenix Tapatio Cliffs Resort and booked it. While it was a great success of a visit in terms of AAdvantage miles and loyalty points, my actual experience at the hotel itself was less to be desired due to the customer service and a big snafu on their part. I also have Hilton Gold status, though as I booked the hotel through a third party site (AAdvantage Hotels), I could see the stay and the stay history in my Hilton app, but I did not receive any benefits for staying there, which was fine as I didn't expect any anyone. I arrived in person to check in and already reserved and prepaid for a King 1 Bedroom Standard Suite, which had a nice view and reasonably spacious room (but not too much larger than a regular room at another hotel). The room was certainly not upgraded though there was parking available right in front of the entrance. I did not receive anything else at check-in nor did it appear that I'd get my regularly complimentary water. I did pay the daily resort charge which includes high speed internet access, access to the Falls Water Village, an hour at the tennis/pickleball court, an hour at the afternoon golf practice facility, two hours for a mountain bike rental, 20% off seasonal spa services, and 15% off select golf apparel. While I didn't use it, I had easy view and access to the Falls Water Village where you could lounge and play all day on their sun-marked terrace where you could find free-form pools, hot tubs, and cabanas. They even have a 138-foot enclosed water slide. When I checked out, I was told that a bill would be sent to me shortly since I did it on the app early, and when I received the bill, there was a charge for my room at the restaurant at the top of the hill called A Different Point of View. The catch is that I never went to eat there during my stay (or at any onsite restaurant since I live in the area and had my meals offsite). I reached out to the hotel who insisted that I did go there to eat. I promised them I didn't eat anywhere onsite and that they need to look at the receipt and see if it actually has my room number. They confirmed it did and that this meant I ate there. I told them to find my name on it and let me know if it was on there. After several more back and forth conversations, they confirmed it wasn't me and would remove the charge. They then mistakenly charged me double. Then they removed one charge, but it took more than a week before they removed the other charge. By the end of the exchanges, it felt like they were blaming me for their own mistake. While the resort is aged and rather pleasant, there certainly are training issues regarding the customer service offered at this property. I do not plan on staying here again in the future.
