Words can't explain how thankful I am for Dr Greer since having met him a couple months ago. I have…read morenever had any eye problems, 20-20 visions, generally pretty lucky when it comes to vision health. However, earlier this ear I ended up getting Uveitis and my Urgent Care referred me to Dr. Greer. He fit me in last minute on a Saturday, thoroughly explained what was going on with my eye and how we would fix it. He checked in on me the next day and several days after to make sure I was feeling better. Despite being an emergency appointment and requiring medicine, his costs were incredibly reasonable. Then once again, last Friday night I was accidentally stabbed in the eye with a straw and scratched my cornea up pretty bad. My roommate called Dr. Greer at 7:30 in the morning, he answered, then because we couldn't get to his office due to the women's march he MADE A HOUSE CALL! Literally this man is a god-sent. I was such a mess and so uncomfortable and in 15 minutes he fixed my life. Again, thorough follow up and very reasonable costs. 10 stars for this man.

The receptionist asked what my issue was. I told her. She said we don't treat that type of issue. I was shocked and frustrated. And tried to explain I was referred specifically for this type of dr. She just said sorry. At the time, I did not understand . It's a retinal stuff ONLY and not explained. My insurance dr locater directed me to this place. So I kept trying. I hung up an called again. Got someone else. I explained I had a referral and get next available Dr. who takes my insurance. I specifically spelled my name and email so there are no errors. Guest what? Spelled my last name wrong. That had a trickle down effect. I could not log into the Pre-registration site. I called a few times to get it corrected. Which was... BUT now I am locked out of the site. I gave up. The day of the appointment, I came in early. To try todo paper work. And the receptionist finally explained they ONLY do retinal work. Not for an eye injury. She was super gracious. And said I would not get charged for the appt. Then she referred me to another doctor across the street. Eye Center on Capitol Hill, Dr. Salim Butrus. They told me to see if he could squeeze me in. Dr. Michael Lai is a wonderful doctor who successfully treated me for several complex retinal issues (retinal vein occlusion and epiretinal membrane). After a series of injections & vitrectomy surgery, Dr. Lai restored my vision. He's a miracle worker. He's also incredibly kind and patient, always taking time to explain everything & answer questions. If you have any retinal issues, go to Dr. Lai! As for RGW itself, some of the physicians aren't great. The first one I saw was rude & arrogant. But thankfully I persisted & found Dr. Lai! Also, I think RGW overbooks their doctors, so the wait times can be bad. But with a unicorn doctor like Dr. Lai, it's worth it!

Dr. Renaud is as good as it gets when it comes to serious, authentic and well-informed care for your eyes. I have very poor vision and on top of that, I have very dry eyes to the point where it had impaired my vision (blurriness). In the course of one month I saw several ophthalmologists and optometrists, because my eyes were bothering me so much. Some recommended punctal plugs (on the spot!) while others did not offer much help at all. Dr. Renaud was the only eye care practitioner who was able to give me practical guidance (behavioral changes) paired with clinically sound medical care for my eyes for long-term relief. She is extremely thorough, spends time with her patients and is very hands-on. She has a type-A personality when it comes to thoroughness and has a very matter-of-fact but very thorough and caring approach with her patients. Not only that, but she herself is a dry eye sufferer and understands the plights of what the condition can do not just to one's vision or comfort but overall quality of life.
