This doctor's office provided the worst service I have ever gotten at a doctors office. First, I was told they participated with my insurance, but were going to stop at the end of the month. Fine, I was having headaches that I thought were connected to my vision, I thought it was important to see an MD not just an optometrist about it and it was still in that month. Well, participate just means they file it for you, not that they are a preferred provider in the network. I wound up paying several hundreds of dollars out of my own pocket for this bad service.
THen, Dr. Holzman himself, completely discounted the reason I was there, the headaches "heachaches happen, there can be a lot of reasons for that". But, you need a bunch of [expensive] tests for glaucoma. I am happy I don't have glaucoma, but if I knew how much I was going to have to pay out of my own pocket for these tests, combined with the fact that I am under 40 and not very likely to have glaucoma yet, I don't think I would have let them do them. Did I mention my light sensitive eye headache problem is still pretty severe - maybe he doesn't want to hear about that because he doesn't have any expensive tests he can run on me for those.
Seriously they did every eye test I can imagine on me at 2 separate visits , I didn't have the boxes for my contacts with me but I told him what they were when he checked my vision, he asked me when I left if I needed a prescription for them, I said no because I had plenty left (at that time). Apparently, if I had said yes, per his technician, he would have scheduled me another (3rd) appointment and another fee because that is ANOTHER charge. Which I don't actually believe, I think he would have just written it, because he had checked my vision in the contacts I was wearing, and I told them what they were, and guess what, he is an eye doctor, why after testing my vision 6 ways to sunday would he need to see a box to know what my prescription was.. But now that I need the prescription 8 months later, I am out of luck, I have to go back for another appointment. Guess what, I'll pass. read more
