Best doctor ever. Kind, takes the time, explains the issue. Just all around the best.

In some ways, viewing a master of craft is like an exquisite wine or cheese to be savored. Warm, comfortable, and confidently putting concerns to rest. Within minutes, Dr. Weiss disarmed what had been years of anguish and back and forth my teens. What was previously a battery of tests and experiments trying to diagnose "glaucoma" in a teenager was swiftly and adequately dispatched by accurately reading my mind and assuaging my concern from the moment the peeper was peeped. I've had nothing but a pleasant time with both the staff, Dr. Weiss, and the office in general. If you're in Rosslyn (or even want to drive in) it's a rare air were breathing! For as long as I can see, I can see myself here!

Tl/Dr: this is a PSA for the parking situation at this location…read more 5 stars for Dr. Lobaugh. -10000 stars for the location and parking garage. I was just getting comfortable riding the high of all green lights and zero traffic when I had the misfortune of entering the garage at 1700 N Moore. At first, it just looks like a normal garage. But as you ascend higher levels looking for parking you realize that's there are only like 10 parking spots per floor. Also notable is the fact that there were no elevators ... so I guess if you're disabled... better luck next time? I think I made it 3 or 4 floors before I decided to turn around (easier said than done because one lane for 2 way traffic) and find parking elsewhere. Luckily, I only encountered one other car coming while I was attempting going. I was going to make my way to the garage across the street but (surprise) the entrance on N Moore is employee only so take the entrance on N Lynn. So... 2 loops later, I made it into garage #2. Parking spaces were labeled weirdly, so I'm not even sure I parked in an allowed spot, but my car was still there after my appointment so there's that. I checked in w the security person at 1700 N Moore about the elevator situation and she said that the elevator was only available at certain floors of the garage. So ........ yeah. Also- Dr. Lobaugh is amazing. I followed her to NOVA optometry from her last practice in Arlington. Couldn't recommend a physician more. She's one of those people who just makes you feel like she gives a duck about you and whatever issue you're having. That's hard to find. She's basically the only person I'd ever come back to this god forsaken location for.

Some have great knowledge bases and answer questions on eye care with in depth, accurate, and actionable advice. Dr. Glasser is both, and arguably the best at both "sides of the coin" of any optometrist I've visited in my life. Importantly, Dr. Glasser and his entire staff are efficient and pleasant. They honestly try to make your visit as pleasant as possible. In an age where healthcare tends to be actively hostile to the notion of customer service, it is refreshing.

My issue is the way I was treated on my last visit by his assistant after it became apparent to her that I would not be buying frames or lenses from the practice. Her attitude immediately changed when I asked for a prescription. She stood up, went to ring up my copayment, and when she returned with the prescription she remained standing and was abrupt with me when I asked her to explain the change in my prescription, which was in a format I was not familiar with based on what I received in prior visits. I'm an educated person who wants to know how things work and what numbers actually mean, not merely to be told that "any qualified optician will understand" the prescription. I was made to feel stupid and like I was an imposition so I left and fed the prescription into ChatGPT which politely explained it to me, including how a progressive prescription can be translated into single vision distance and reading prescriptions, and what the numbers mean. AI was more polite and patient with me than the assistant. Despite having no issues with the doctor himself, I will not be returning to this practice in the future. The barriers between patients and medical information are evaporating due to AI. Doctors would be well advised to ensure that they and their staffs at least match the courtesy of ChatGPT. Update: In response to Dr. Glasser's comment, all I can say is that it would have taken his assistant less than a minute to sit down and politely explain to me the meaning of the numbers. Regardless of whether I'm dealing with an optometrist or a cardiologist, I take it upon myself to gain a thorough understanding of my heath, which is what ChatGPT provided and the assistant did not. If the doctor doesn't want to take constructive feedback on such a simple point, then I suppose that my decision to go elsewhere is the right one.

I chose to happily pay $205 for new lenses because I loved my sunglasses and wanted to keep them. A mandatory frame inspection required me to go into a WP store (4 hours from where I live) to have them approved. Once I finally had a reason to be in the same city as WP, they confirmed my frames were fine and agreed to the lens replacement. During the lens replacement, WP broke my frames. I received email notification about this that was unclear (again) of the refund process. Phone customer service was polite, but extremely dependent on getting answers from a manager with long holds in between. WP issued a refund for the lenses but was unwilling to provide a replacement for the ones they broke. I got a $20 coupon instead. This was an incredibly frustrating experience and I will be shopping for replacement sunglasses elsewhere.

Mind you, we have been using Warby and Parker throughout DC and Maryland since 2022. I get out the car to go inside to explain to the person checking my son in, we have no cards but are regular customers. As I was approaching the young lady, I saw my name on the pad. I was explaining to the young lady, he is under me if you look up my insurance he would be under that one. An older (caucasian) woman said if we are not able to locate his information he would need to reschedule because there is a 5 min grace period, but she would need to check with the doctor. She returned in seconds to say my son would have to reschedule because he was late, I told her he was not late and that he was on time! She was admitted and with conviction stated again he would need to reschedule because he was 5 min late. I was extremely upset looked around in the store and told my son "Don't he ever book another appointment with this store, ever again!!!! I had to explain to my son he was being racially profiled. I wanted him to know what and how that looks coming from a white woman! She was polite with a smirk/smile letting my son know he was not welcomed in that location. This have left me with the worst feeling I've ever experienced and have never been turned away from an establishment. I immediately called and filed a complaint and wrote a letter (Via EMAIL). I will not every patronizing this "business/brand. I encourage anyone who has an experience once they walk into this establishment and is treated poorly walk away and take your business elsewhere. Oh, my son also told me while in the car, how the older "White" women was letting him know he would need to pay $95 +additional fees as if he was not able to pay trying to discourage to leave. Well, he may not have understood what was going on, but his mother absolutely did and I was disgusted. I will continue to post and provide my negative experience that I received from this establishment.

I needed new glasses and contacts and I had heard rave reviews. The eye exam was great, the service to find eye glasses was competent. I decided to splurge on two pairs of glasses and a years supply of contacts and paid in full.I was told it may be two weeks to fill the order. I was promptly emailed a receipt for this significant investment in my optical health. After two weeks and not a word, I figured they needed an extra day or so. I lost track of time and with several key word deadlines, my eyes were straining and I had to breakdown and buy a pair air readers at the grocery story and struggle with old contacts. When I called after three weeks, they said they would look into it. They then informed me that they had my glasses, but not my contact information. This was odd because I had already received an email receipt from them. When they realized that they did have my glasses and contacts, there was no apology or effort to correct this error and inconvenience. I expressed my disappointment due to my expectation that I would receive better service, based in their reputation and price point. They said they would have the general manager contact me. No one called, texted, or emailed me. When I was able to make it to Georgetown to pick up my glasses, again, no effort at service recovery was made and I again expressed my disappointment and was again told that I would be contacted by the general manger. It it now a week out and still not a peep. I'm left with some cool glasses but a very jaded view of them. It was clear that their efforts and interest in customer service ends once the payment has been made.
