Online customer services is useless. It took 24 emails to get a clear answer on how to get the lenses replaced in my sunglasses. I chose to happily pay $205 for new lenses because I loved my sunglasses and wanted to keep them. A mandatory frame inspection required me to go into a WP store (4 hours from where I live) to have them approved. Once I finally had a reason to be in the same city as WP, they confirmed my frames were fine and agreed to the lens replacement. During the lens replacement, WP broke my frames. I received email notification about this that was unclear (again) of the refund process. Phone customer service was polite, but extremely dependent on getting answers from a manager with long holds in between. WP issued a refund for the lenses but was unwilling to provide a replacement for the ones they broke. I got a $20 coupon instead. This was an incredibly frustrating experience and I will be shopping for replacement sunglasses elsewhere. read more

My son (22 AA) made an appointment at this location two weeks prior to his arrival date 1/17 @2:15. As I was parking my son came out to the car and said he need his insurance card (Vision Works) I told him there is no card. Mind you, we have been using Warby and Parker throughout DC and Maryland since 2022. I get out the car to go inside to explain to the person checking my son in, we have no cards but are regular customers. As I was approaching the young lady, I saw my name on the pad. I was explaining to the young lady, he is under me if you look up my insurance he would be under that one. An older (caucasian) woman said if we are not able to locate his information he would need to reschedule because there is a 5 min grace period, but she would need to check with the doctor. She returned in seconds to say my son would have to reschedule because he was late, I told her he was not late and that he was on time! She was admitted and with conviction stated again he would need to reschedule because he was 5 min late. I was extremely upset looked around in the store and told my son "Don't he ever book another appointment with this store, ever again!!!! I had to explain to my son he was being racially profiled. I wanted him to know what and how that looks coming from a white woman! She was polite with a smirk/smile letting my son know he was not welcomed in that location. This have left me with the worst feeling I've ever experienced and have never been turned away from an establishment. I immediately called and filed a complaint and wrote a letter (Via EMAIL). I will not every patronizing this "business/brand. I encourage anyone who has an experience once they walk into this establishment and is treated poorly walk away and take your business elsewhere. Oh, my son also told me while in the car, how the older "White" women was letting him know he would need to pay $95 +additional fees as if he was not able to pay trying to discourage to leave. Well, he may not have understood what was going on, but his mother absolutely did and I was disgusted. I walked in at 7:10. They close at eight. Not nadia (spelling?) as she was perfectly nice, but the elderly lady with short white gray hair could not have been ruder. I walked in with the full anticipation of buying a pair of glasses within the hour and my RX in hand. I had been at work all day and allowed myself 50 minutes to choose my frames. At quarter till she told me that the lights were about to turn out on me. Literally. Who says that to a customer? The store had another 15 minutes that it was supposed to be open for, and she made me feel guilty for being in a store during business hours. I've had Warby Parker glasses for a long time and have been a loyal customer. All she could do was box up things at the front desk and offered zero help. She didn't even say hello when I walked in and glared at me for arriving , She kept saying passive aggressive things like - are we the only store in Georgetown still open? The eye examiner, Warby Parker missed a major cataract that I had that an ophthalmologist could see as soon as she looked in my eye. Meanwhile, she gave me a terrible prescription and I couldn't see anything with the glasses. Once I finally was able to get the cataract surgery or be Parker refused to replace the lenses or take any responsibility. Do not use this business. I recommend Costco. read more

I'm staying at a hotel down the street because my dad is hospitalized at MedStar Georgetown, where he was transferred from our home hospital because Georgetown has better care available. My dad has been at Georgetown since last week. He is expected to recover but it has been a grueling time for him as well as our family. Last night, I was so exhausted that I didn't pay close attention to my actions and I ended up accidentally sitting on my eyeglasses. I'm a heavy person so the frames were definitely bent to the point that they could not be worn effectively. I'm not sure what Warby Parker's policy is for eyeglasses purchased from other retailers. But I was very relieved that they had a location down the street from my hotel, because I felt confident about walking in there to ask for services specifically due to how my eyeglasses are originally Warby Parker eyeglasses (purchased all the way across the country, in the San Francisco Bay Area, where I was previously attending grad school). Just to make sure, I asked Reggie what the charge would be to fix my glasses, and he explained there would be no charge. Fact of the matter is, Reggie made me temporarily forget the anguish of my family emergency. I felt like a regular human being, going to get my glasses fixed, and chatting and laughing it up with a spectacular human being who knows how to fix eyeglasses AND how to help you forget your troubles. I came to this Warby Parker location on a Tuesday afternoon. I usually go to the Bethesda location since it is closer to home, but stopped by here since I was in the area. I had purchased sunglasses from the Bethesda location and had changed my mind and wanted the prescription lenses replaced with non prescription lenses. The Bethesda location had told me that I could do a lens replacement for a fee, so when I communicated this to Anthony at the Georgetown location I was surprised at his attitude and reaction. He abruptly shut me down and refused to help me. I pressed further and questioned why Bethesda would advise me this was possible for a fee, it was not as though I was attempting to get free non prescription lenses... I was attempting to pay for the service. Kelsey was another employee working that day and she could see that I was getting upset with Anthony's poor customer service, so she quickly stepped in and assisted. She took my information, placed the order for the non prescription lenses and charged me the fee. While I was there, another employee Michelle also assisted me with adjusting the fitting of another pair of Warby Parker glasses I had purchased here. I buy all of my glasses here, I love the styles and generally I have always had positive experiences with Warby Parker. I was severely disappointed with Anthony's attitude, I will definitely not be returning to this location in the future. Cannot rave enough about Warby Parker and this location in general. I had been needing a new pair of glasses for about two years and walked in with my prescription, chose a frame( that I had been scouting out for weeks) and was out in about 10 minutes. It was super quick and easy. I was a little skeptical since I have astigmatism and am near sighted and basically blind, but they packed all my prescription into a stylish frame. The one concern I did have was the shipping process. It was slightly delayed and I was expecting to get them a certain date and they came the next day. I called twice to see if they had any updates as I couldnt track the minute by minute shipping on my end. They just didn't manage expectations that well, but that was the only snafu. So, I proceed to search for my frames. I believe I tried on 1-2 pairs in each section. When I tried on the Daisy frame, both Ben and I gasped. Perfect fit, perfect frame for my face. Despite their reply, the store never contacted me. I ended up popping the lenses out myself, using a heat gun at very low heat, and reshaping the frames myself. I will not be purchasing Warby Parker glasses ever again, despite my 5 or so pairs: The glasses come with a guaranteed right to have the frames fitted when necessary, but my local store, the Georgetown, DC store, is more interested in harvesting your email address than living up to its moral and legal contact with its customers to provide extremely basic services. As I wrote previously, the store refused to live up to their contractual obligation when I went there to have my frame refitted, because I refused to give them my email address. I can't say on Yelp how I feel about the owners of this store but suffice it to say they should eat a bag of dicks. Update: I was wrong, someone from WP did contact me in December, I missed the email in my inbox. Then, after I wrote this update, I was again contacted. The hubs needed some frames right away, so we decided to check out this place as we had heard some pretty good things about them. When you step in, the friendly staff warmly welcomes you, ready to assist - they also let you mosey around and check out all of the frames on the shelves. Just note that some frames repeat, so just pay attention to the labels! The frames are all pretty much unisex, so whatever you like, get it! I love how you can bring a prescription in from your optometrist/ophthalmologist, choose the frames that you're into, put the order in with one of the staff members, pay, and then boom - you're done! Ms. Anna was super sweet and was patient and answered pretty much all of our questions. Ms. Jordana also jumped in to take any measurements necessary; both team-worked and put in orders for the frames, and verified/confirmed that all the information was accurate. You can opt to either have the eyewear shipped to your home or to the store for an in-person pick-up (free shipping/no tax!); they offer warranties as well as fittings, so no worries! Warby Parker recently made its brick and mortar debut in Washington, DC with two locations - one in Georgetown and another in the Shaw neighborhood. The Georgetown store is centrally located on trendy M street and reminds me of a reference library. You can check in with an attendant to get your questions answered and peruse the rows of frames and try on the ones that catch your eye. Upon entering the store, I was greeted by Daniel who walked me through the various frames and let me try on as many as I wanted to. Many of the frames have a similar boxy look, but Daniel did a great job of pointing out the subtle nuances and tracking my favorites on an iPad. After trying on all the frames I liked, Daniel sent me an email with a picture and details of all the frames that I liked. Anyone who wears glasses will tell you that a pair of prescription eye glasses can cost you a pretty penny, so I was glad to see that Warby Parker offers reasonably priced frames. Eye exams are not offered at the Georgetown location, but you can schedule an eye exam at the Shaw location. I plan to take advantage of their free home try on program which allows you try out five frames for five days. This is a neat idea as it allows you more time to check out the frames before making a purchase. read more

This is a nice looking store for buying prescription glasses. For a long time I have been suckered in to following groupon/ living social to buy a discount deal at local prescription glasses stores so that I can afford good pair of prescription glasses. But Warby Parker has most definitely disrupted the premium prescription eyeglasses business. They have a ood selection of frames at a very reasonable and affordable price. I did get my eye exam done at a different place and came in to the store with the prescription. The store employees helped me pick couple of good frames that go well with my face shape and requirements. Ordering and shipping process was good too; and my glasses showed up at my home in 7-8 days. I did have to take in one of my prescription sunglasses to the store to have it fitted correctly. But the rest of the orders were perfect. I was even able to use the itemized bill (in the shipping box) to get reimbursed by my vision plan provider. Update: I believe the location in Shaw now offers eye exams too! read more

Another great Warby Parker experience! Made this a family affair and my husband, sister in law and I came in for new frames. The covid protocols in place made us all feel safe and the staff were friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. Cleaning protocols include hand sanitizer upon entry and cleaning of sample frames after each use. The store limits shoppers as well to make for additional safety. We worked with Qasin and not only did he help us find flattering styles, the optician Malcolm made sure the styles complemented our prescriptions as well. The store is nice, the shopping experience is easy, the salespeople are friendly. This review has to do with the quality of the lenses. I have been wearing glasses for over 30 years and never have I experienced so much back glare on the lenses. I bought the 1.74 high index lenses and I feel like I have a rearview mirror on my face. It is especially bad outdoors at night. The lenses are in narrow frames, so these are some of the smallest lenses Warby Parker sells. It's distracting and annoying having so much back glare. I use glasses to see, not to make a fashion statement. Is the antireflective coating subpar? I have never experienced this issue with Crizal coatings. I came into the store 11/1/15 just to check out the store and show a friend a pair of frames I was eyeing. There were many employees on the floor helping people and I was able to ask an employee a question myself. On 11/9/15, I was ready to commit! It was emptier on this day but there were still employees around. I'd say they gave me my space but they were around to help. I decided to get a pair of chamberlains in crystal. I was going to get the nash frames but a couple of employees convinced me to get the chamberlains because the nash's were a wider frame. The ordering process was simple! An employee asked me if I had my prescription, which I thought I had on paper but I ended up not having with me. This wasn't a problem, I was still able to order but I had to email Warby a picture of my prescription whenever I found it. Another option is to have Warby contact your optometrist but I believe that makes the ordering process just a little slower. The prices of frames do start at $90 but I got high index lenses because I have a high prescription. This made my order $125. I emailed a picture of my perception that night. They tell you it takes 7-10 business days for your order to be ready and you can pick up in store or have it shipped to you. By 11/20/15 (9 business days if you don't count the day I ordered) I hadn't heard anything so I emailed Warby. I got an email that day saying my glasses were ready so, yay! I decided to have my glasses shipped to the store. When I arrived the store wasn't busy and all the employees were just kinda chillin at the front counter area. When I said I was here to pick up an order, an employee told me it'd be 5-10 minutes which I thought was odd since it wasn't busy. It's 1/10/16 now and I really love my glasses! I was too excited by the modern style at first that when I first got them I realized I liked the way my Ray-Bans fit better. The arms of my Warby glasses are thin and they sit against my temples. My Ray-Bans sat on my ear but did not push against my temples- the arms curved and were thicker. It took a while to get used to my Warby glasses but overall my experience was pleasant and I love my glasses! 4.5 stars! read more

This is a very cool store with an extremely helpful staff and efficient sales system, from start to finish. It's quite busy, but the store is laid out in a way that allows for easy access to all the frames, with large mirrors throughout to help you find and check out what you're looking for easily despite the crowds. The staff members are nice but unobtrusive. Once I found a pair I thought would work, I found someone to help me immediately and the purchase process took 5 minutes or less. The whole operation is similar to the Apple Store, where ordering and payment is done entirely out in the store, all on an iPad. Once I purchased my glasses, I received a welcome email and receipt via email within minutes. The glasses then arrived at my house as promised within a week. Unfortunately, the frames I picked did not work for me, despite adjustments (which were also done in the store within a matter of minutes). My ultimate return was processed just as easily. The whole process was great overall, and I just wish the frames had worked for me. The only problem with this place is the fact the selection of frames is somewhat limited to a certain look. Larger, very dark and obtrusive frames are clearly very trendy right now, and this is the bulk of their stock. If this style works for you, you're in luck. Sadly, it doesn't work for me, and the only other options they have (in limited quantities) are wire rim styles that I'm not that into either. So I had to go elsewhere for my frames (to Burton, just up the street), and thus I deducted one star for slight lack of variety. Overall a great store and positive glasses purchasing experience. I've stopped into this Warby Parker a few times and it has always been chaotic. The frames aren't in the correct places and it's always packed. This weekend I went into this location to get my glasses adjusted and walked up to the service desk. I put my name in and then had to wait 5-10 minutes for the employee to call my name and proceed with my adjustment. Once the employee came to help me I explained that my glasses were way too big and kept falling off my face and I needed them to be adjusted. She told me they were just a big frame and it may not work. A little annoyed since they were the ones that sold me the glasses I handed them over and waited patiently. The employee never looked at the frame behind me ear or even measured how to adjust them! While I was waiting for her to fix them she took two customers ahead of me. Isn't that the whole point of putting your name in? Overall it was a mediocre experience compared to some of the other locations I've been to. I won't be coming back to Georgetown in the future. To be honest, I was unfamiliar with this company but came to visit the store because my roommate is obsessed with the brand. Walking in to this store was a ray of sunshine. From the second we walked in the door, we were warmly greeted by a store representative who asked if we needed help. We just wanted to wander for a bit to look at the glasses the store had to offer and she respected it. Eventually as we ventured back to the front of the store, we were chatting with the girl about styles of glasses and how we thought we looked in them. She joined the conversation without being overbearing and gave us honest opinions about frames. She did not pressure us to buy anything which made me feel more comfortable. I'm glad Warby Parker is now in D.C. With that being said my overall experience at this Georgetown location is a solid 3.5. This was not my first time in a Warby Parker location. Previously I have been to the Abbot Kinney (Venice CA) location about a year ago just to browse their selections of glasses. To preface I have been wearing glasses since 3rd grade and if my memory serves me right I have been a loyal customer of Lenscrafters. I will never be buying glasses from them ever again. Prior to my visit I browsed through the large selection of frames they have to offer online and it was honestly overwhelming. Walking into the store I observed many people trying on frames. I probably ended up trying on 20 pairs and eventually found one I truly liked after half an hour. Now here comes one con, not once was I asked if I needed any assistance. Assistance seems to be lacking overall. I went up to the counter and asked one of the associate (Brittany) what I needed to do to order a pair of glasses. She kindly informed me an associate would be with me 5-8 minutes. I ended up waiting for ~15 minutes and seeing others who got there after me getting assisted before me. At the end, Brittany ended up assisting me order my pair of glasses. Brittany was very courteous and professional. That process took 10 minutes and I was out of the store. My glasses cost $125 total as compared to the usual ~$400 I typically spend at Lenscrafters. My frames/lens at Warby Parker were $95 with an additional $30 upgrade fee for better quality lens. My glasses will be shipped to my house, free lifetime adjustments at any of their stores, and replacement of scratched lens within 1 year. With that great deal and awesome frames I will never be shopping for glasses anywhere else. I just wish service was a bit better, it was a bit chaotic in there. I bought glasses from here while I was updating my prescription. I scheduled my appointment online, and the process itself was really straight forward. I didn't have to wait at all before the doctor saw me, and she let me know along the way why she recommended certain lenses, what I could expect from the change in prescription (it was high already but got even higher), as well as what all the numbers meant. Buying glasses from here was similarly lovely, as they had a really great assortment of frames and made sure to remind me that I could come in and get them adjusted whenever. Call WP and they tell me that they do not do any repairs - so that the glasses are now basically trash. For WP this is a great business model if you want people to purchase more glasses, disappointing from an environmental and consumer stand point. The glasses are worth more than one star, but next time I'll purchase from a retailer that supports their own product, and does not treat it as disposable. read more
