No offense to Costo. I love the place just like everyone else and have been a member for about 20 years without a complaint. This tiny eye doctor's office made me feel so unwelcome that I had no option but to cancel my membership today. Yes, I was 30 min late for my appointment. I was fully prepared to be told that I had to reschedule. I was actually counting on it. Even with the fact that I drove 40 minutes to get there. I had to wait for someone to drive me as I was planning of having my pupils dilated, the driver and I underestimated traffic some and we missed the exit to make it a bit more complicated. For that, on top of being ridiculed by the front office lady in front of other people, the optometrist made me feel super uncomfortable and pointed the office door to me when I took a work related call that wouldn't last more than a minute. "Excuse me! There are no cell phone calls in this office"! Liar. There are no signs posted to that effect. This is in front of everyone in that tiny room. You may be thinking that I was that rude person speaking loudly on the phone. I am not rude and I was not screaming, but yes, I took the call and did not step out because I thought I was going to be called next. I was the only one waiting there until this white lady came in a few minutes later. Also it was 1:30 pm on a Thursday (I think most people nowadays want to disconnect from work while out of the office but just can't) and I was helping out a colleague in crises at a construction site. I did not realize I was being disruptive. In any case, the whole thing was really rude and uncalled for. I only went there because my doctor can't see me for a few days and I have an international trip coming up. I need new glasses. Now my personal opinion is that the doctor wanted her office to look presentable for the white lady. You can't do that with a latino around, right? The lady went ahead of me. When I asked why, front desk lady told me she had an appointment, which is possible. The thing is when I went online to book this appointment, virtually all the slots were empty. On top of it, I heard the same lady inquiring about the service in a way that made me think that she was just a walk in. Don't go there. I have thick skin and don't usually let these things get into me but this was so very disrespectful I can't let it go. read more
