They were quick and efficient. Took my prescription in and had my glasses replaced within a very short amount of time.

Wonderful experience!…read more Dr Lamothe was super patient with me and explained the why behind everything he was doing. I had a redness problem that another eye dr had dismissed as no biggie and Dr Lamothe let me know it was a gland issue and got me a prescription and other remedies to help relieve it. I'll be back!!

I've gone here before (good exp w Lamothe) but haven't had eye exam in at least two yrs . I called…read moreto make an appt and spoke w the office mgr/ receptionist. He had a flat affect and set a negative stage. I said I prob need more than a routine eye exam but was happy to start w that. He lmk that a dry eye test isn't covered by ins (which is fine) and not to expect that I could do both in one visit (also fine). He then said, the appt will be 15 min tops, so it's not a time to ask questions. I said, of course I want to be able to ask a couple questions, espec bc of eye irritation lately. He said, "I see your insurance is (x) and that only pays us like $60 per visit. We can't give patients longer than 15, we'd go out of business" (!) I couldn't believe it. The rudeness and the gall of mentioning my coverage resulted in poor profit for them. I suggested he NOT say those things to new or returning patients and he said he was trying to manage expectations, that patients "always complain" they want to be seen longer but it's not doable. Talk about poor patient relations/ customer service. I realize what the medical system is up against w insurance is rough, but never has a public-facing clinic employee been so dissuading about the care their provider provides. I can't NOT recommend this place enough; take your business to an office that will value it.

I have no issues with the quality of the examination or my in-person interactions with Dr. Glasser…read more(several appointments over many years). My issue is the way I was treated on my last visit by his assistant after it became apparent to her that I would not be buying frames or lenses from the practice. Her attitude immediately changed when I asked for a prescription. She stood up, went to ring up my copayment, and when she returned with the prescription she remained standing and was abrupt with me when I asked her to explain the change in my prescription, which was in a format I was not familiar with based on what I received in prior visits. I'm an educated person who wants to know how things work and what numbers actually mean, not merely to be told that "any qualified optician will understand" the prescription. I was made to feel stupid and like I was an imposition so I left and fed the prescription into ChatGPT which politely explained it to me, including how a progressive prescription can be translated into single vision distance and reading prescriptions, and what the numbers mean. AI was more polite and patient with me than the assistant. Despite having no issues with the doctor himself, I will not be returning to this practice in the future. The barriers between patients and medical information are evaporating due to AI. Doctors would be well advised to ensure that they and their staffs at least match the courtesy of ChatGPT. Update: In response to Dr. Glasser's comment, all I can say is that it would have taken his assistant less than a minute to sit down and politely explain to me the meaning of the numbers. Regardless of whether I'm dealing with an optometrist or a cardiologist, I take it upon myself to gain a thorough understanding of my heath, which is what ChatGPT provided and the assistant did not. If the doctor doesn't want to take constructive feedback on such a simple point, then I suppose that my decision to go elsewhere is the right one.

Generally made me feel bad about myself. In the end, I paid $270 for an eye exam (twice what nearby places are charging) and the prescription was incorrect. I went to a cheaper nearby place and got the correct prescription, but it cost me several weeks of eyeglasses that give me headaches and dizziness.

Give this place a chance!…read more My grandmother has been going to Dr. Ghafouri for years. When we heard that the hospital was closing I urged her to find a new doctor but she said that the doctor assured her that his practice was staying. I was skeptical so I decided to join her and ask the hard pressed questions. Once we got there I was shocked to see that they had remodeled and the place looks 1000 times better than before. That was a good sign. After all, why would they remodel if they were closing?! Dr. Ghafouri and the staff was pleasant as usual even though I saw a bunch of new faces. That's no big deal tho since I hadn't accompanied my grandmother on one of her doctor visits in quite some time. After we checked out we were told that she should visit the optical shop to have her prescription filled. I asked where it was and they directed me to a small corner in the back of their office. I didn't mean to be rude but I laughed and made a couple jokes about how small and tucked away it was. Little did I know, the joke was about to be on me. I walked my grandmother over to the tiny corner and there we met Sabrina. She greeted us with a smile and asked how she could help. We gave her the prescription and from there we were amazed. She started with all of the information about my grandmother's insurance and prescription. She explained what her prescription was for, how they should be worn, and what the numbers mean. No one has ever explained what all those numbers mean and I really appreciate her for taking the time to help us understand it better. Then, she picked out frames that would accommodate my grandmother's prescription which was another wow factor because I didn't know that some prescriptions don't fit every frame. Up until that point I was pleased with Sabrina's disposition but I wasn't sold on this tiny shop. I mean how good could this place be right? So while she was occupied with my grandmother I decided to look around. I was SHOCKED!!! They have name brand frames!!! Not like Walmart where they try to convince you that it's a name brand when it's not. They have MCM, Kate Spade, Marc Jacobs, Ray Ban, Kenneth Cole, and so many more. I was speechless. On top of that, the frames styles are so unique and really really cute. I didn't expect a little place like this to have such a high end feel to it. I ended up buying two pairs of sunglasses just for me! Sabrina helped my grandmother find a fly new pair of glasses too. She was so happy! She told Sabrina she was officially one of her granddaughters! I read the other review after we left and realized that things are totally different now. Sabrina is so warm and welcoming. I vaguely remember the other lady but I know for sure we have never had an experience like this with her. This place is legit! I will be bringing my husband and son back in to get their glasses too. Give it a chance and you won't be disappointed! We will be definitely be back.

I told them I was just looking and they kept trying to push these low quality extremely overly priced frames I did't like. A pair of low quality 'no name' frames for $450. Are you kidding me?! The frames didn't even have a warranty against manufacturing defects. I asked her very politely why the frames didn't have warranty, to which she replied "Why do you need a warranty are you going to step on them?" Jesus Christ how arrogant!!! This one lady asked for my insurance information saying she would just "check" to see whether I had an eyeglass allowance and how much the allowance was, to which I said okay. After several unsuccessful attempts she told me that "she couldn't get through because the phone was busy or something." I told her I hadn't really liked any of the frames I would just come back some other time. She got really offended and said that I had to buy the frame since she had already collected the insurance information, to which I laughed and said I wasn't really obligated to buy anything since I told her I was just looking. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.

Since moving to the DMV I have been trying to get out more and explore. I wanted to try this place…read morefor so long and just finally had my first experience. I want to kick myself for letting it take this long. It is always so vibrant here, tons of people coming and going. Ample parking, both on and off street. All the aromas from all the different stalls will make you second guess where you will grab some grub. Then you might also want to graze...err, I mean browse on what to take home. I love exploring this place. I wandered around for quite some time until I zeroed in on where to eat. We decided to do our own little food tour within the market and sample some bites from a few stalls. We tried: 1. Masala dosa from Sambar & Spice. Also affordable! 3. Fish tacos from the famous seafood spot. These were sadly my least favorite item on our little food tour, the slaw was overpowering but if removed the pan seared fish was flavorless. 4. Wrapped up with some matcha and iced coffee - can't go wrong with those. Enjoyed browsing the little artisan stalls as well. An amazing stop on my trip to DC!
