I was referred by my CVS minute clinic for what I thought was a classic case of pink eye.

From the very first consultation, Dr. Weiss took the time to explain the procedure thoroughly, answer all of my questions, and put me completely at ease. The surgery produced excellent results. What impressed me most was not only Dr. Weiss's surgical skill but also the compassion and attentiveness shown throughout the process. The follow-up care was excellent, and I always felt supported. I highly recommend Dr. Weiss to anyone considering cataract surgery. His expertise, kindness, and dedication truly make a life-changing difference.

Our checkup appointments were fully covered by our insurance provided through Medicare and Blue Cross/Blue Shield - Carefirst for employees of the State of Maryland. Following my February 26, 2026 appointment, for the first time ever, I received an invoice of $153.79 citing services not covered by our BC/BS - CareFirst insurance. I called BC/BS and the WEP&S Business Office on 4/29 and 4/30 to ask for an explanation why I received this invoice. I received conflicting information from the people I spoke to in both offices. The BC/BS person referred me to Davis Vision that apparently is now involved in the management our Vision Plan. The DV person informed me WEP&S is not in their network so this is probably the reason why secondary insurance coverage was not provided. I passed this information to the staff person in the WEP&S Business Office who said "there have been changes in insurance coverage, but your invoice stands"; and then hung up on me. I found this response to be very unprofessional. It would have been appreciated if I had been informed in advance of my Feb. 26 appointment that WEP&S no longer takes our secondary insurance. I have cancelled my next and all future appointments at WEP&S since they are no longer in the network of our Vision Plan. Paul from Chevy Chase

Dr. Renaud saved my eye sight. Recently, I had an eye emergency during the night. I called her…read morepractice after midnight, to leave a message for an appointment. To my surprise, Dr. Renaud answered at 2:00am. I immediately apologized, but she stayed on the phone consulting with me and determined it was in fact a medical emergency, she instructed me to see a retina specialist right away and so I did first thing in the morning. I was treated right away, saving my eye sight. Dr. Renau. is my favorite MD ever. Her patients are her first priority. She has taken care of my eyes for years. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for excellence in eye care.

Unfortunately, they had me on unnecessary medications with negative side effects. Doctor Renaud fixed my eye maintenance routine, which got me off of those medications. I never thought that would be possible, and now my condition also feels unquestionably better. I would also like to comment that Doctor Renaud is very good at getting the right prescription for eye glasses. In the past, an eye doctor has arrived at prescription numbers for me, would perhaps do a quick check, and then that's it. But Dr. Renaud was much more thorough, and now I see comfortably close and far - the best prescription in memory. My final comment is that she is easy to get in touch with, so I have been happy with the service side of her practice as well.

Great exam and nice staff!…read more I moved to DC during the pandemic and was fortunate enough to find them. They have been consistently applying safety procedures around the office and during the exam. The exam was great, very thorough and I got my contacts super quick!

I've gone here before (good exp w Lamothe) but haven't had eye exam in at least two yrs . I called…read moreto make an appt and spoke w the office mgr/ receptionist. He had a flat affect and set a negative stage. I said I prob need more than a routine eye exam but was happy to start w that. He lmk that a dry eye test isn't covered by ins (which is fine) and not to expect that I could do both in one visit (also fine). He then said, the appt will be 15 min tops, so it's not a time to ask questions. I said, of course I want to be able to ask a couple questions, espec bc of eye irritation lately. He said, "I see your insurance is (x) and that only pays us like $60 per visit. We can't give patients longer than 15, we'd go out of business" (!) I couldn't believe it. The rudeness and the gall of mentioning my coverage resulted in poor profit for them. I suggested he NOT say those things to new or returning patients and he said he was trying to manage expectations, that patients "always complain" they want to be seen longer but it's not doable. Talk about poor patient relations/ customer service. I realize what the medical system is up against w insurance is rough, but never has a public-facing clinic employee been so dissuading about the care their provider provides. I can't NOT recommend this place enough; take your business to an office that will value it.

Outstanding technician. Immensely knowledgeable provider. Delightful staff…read more Some optometrists are excellent technicians and refine your prescription to perfection. Some have great knowledge bases and answer questions on eye care with in depth, accurate, and actionable advice. Dr. Glasser is both, and arguably the best at both "sides of the coin" of any optometrist I've visited in my life. Importantly, Dr. Glasser and his entire staff are efficient and pleasant. They honestly try to make your visit as pleasant as possible. In an age where healthcare tends to be actively hostile to the notion of customer service, it is refreshing.

I have no issues with the quality of the examination or my in-person interactions with Dr. Glasser…read more(several appointments over many years). My issue is the way I was treated on my last visit by his assistant after it became apparent to her that I would not be buying frames or lenses from the practice. Her attitude immediately changed when I asked for a prescription. She stood up, went to ring up my copayment, and when she returned with the prescription she remained standing and was abrupt with me when I asked her to explain the change in my prescription, which was in a format I was not familiar with based on what I received in prior visits. I'm an educated person who wants to know how things work and what numbers actually mean, not merely to be told that "any qualified optician will understand" the prescription. I was made to feel stupid and like I was an imposition so I left and fed the prescription into ChatGPT which politely explained it to me, including how a progressive prescription can be translated into single vision distance and reading prescriptions, and what the numbers mean. AI was more polite and patient with me than the assistant. Despite having no issues with the doctor himself, I will not be returning to this practice in the future. The barriers between patients and medical information are evaporating due to AI. Doctors would be well advised to ensure that they and their staffs at least match the courtesy of ChatGPT. Update: In response to Dr. Glasser's comment, all I can say is that it would have taken his assistant less than a minute to sit down and politely explain to me the meaning of the numbers. Regardless of whether I'm dealing with an optometrist or a cardiologist, I take it upon myself to gain a thorough understanding of my heath, which is what ChatGPT provided and the assistant did not. If the doctor doesn't want to take constructive feedback on such a simple point, then I suppose that my decision to go elsewhere is the right one.
