This place is built for the heat. Its about 80% shaded. All the stores are one of a kind but they are still cleaning up after everyone after the huge grand opening. I heard they are going to build a lot more to this place in the future which is a plus. To me the outlets here are a lot better than most outlets north our south of Bakersfield. If you are paying through or are from Bakersfield this place is a most go place even if you are just a window shopper. read more

Be very careful coming with kids. They abduct kids here all the time & security is in on it. Your phone doesn't get good reception here. Look out for the Guys with ear pieces. They communicate with eachother through their little walkie talkies. I had my two kids with me, ages 1 and 3. I noticed the first guy with the walk-in talkie because he followed me in every store I went into. I began going into random stores and in the children's section & he didn't even try to hide it. I asked him many times if I could help him with something & he ignored me. He began taking pictures of my daughter & then I noticed 2 other guys in Walkie talkies. I told security I need someone to escort me to my car, someone is following me. His response was so "we don't have personal". That was it. So I ran to my car and was yelling at the guy & telling him to stop following me & luckily my brother called & was on the phone with me. I was telling him someone was following me & he must have thought I was on the phone with the police. I threw my kids in the car and he was still taking pictures. Never coming here again! I spoke to my friend & she said her friend had a similar experience. Please don't come with kids. If you go to the truck stop in Bakersfield, there is so many missing children! This is one of my favorite places to stop at when making the trek up to NorCal. They have a great selection of stores to shop at; Express, Nike and American Eagle are among some of my favorites. Every time I have stopped here it has been quiet so you don't have to deal with all the crowds that are often found at outlets (ex. Camarillo). There is also a variety of places to eat around the outlets so it makes a good place to stop during a road trip. Don't worry if you're towing or driving in a big rig; they have plenty of parking spaces you can fit in. read more

I had some visitors and we drove up to San Francisco for the weekend, on the way back to LA they wanted to do some shopping, I immediately thought of taking them to Camarillo outlets, but that was going to add 2 hrs to my commute. Luckily I found Tejon outlets when doing some research, the outlets are in the middle of nowhere but it worked out perfect for me!! They are literally right off of the freeway. Lots of parking and most of the stores one would need. What I liked the most is that it wasn't crowded at all!!! Ughhh I dread going to Citadel or Camarillo because they are always packed, no one likes to shop like that. Shopping at Tejon was super peaceful! On my way to the restroom I found the customer service kiosk and saw that they had a free coupon book for a lot of the stores- score yayyy!!! Make sure you get one, I ended up saving an extra $25 dls at adidas (on top of their buy one get one 50% off), the 2 pairs of tennis shoes I bought were a steal! I found a lot of the stores have better selection of items than citadel or Camarillo. Just because they are not as crowded so I guess stuff doesn't sell as fast. Also, way more organized!! read more

The Outlets at Tejon are strategically situated at the base of the mountains on and the way to and from Los Angeles and they are great! There is an abundance of stores and options for everyone. My particular favorites are the Ralph Lauren Factory Store and the Nike Outlet stores. I usually get all my clothes at the Ralph store and some running shoes at the Nike store. The shopping center itself is nice and open with plenty of room to walk in. My only big complaint is that the food options here are not great. They are sorely lacking in food options and need to expand. However, there are lots of other dining choices in the area, so if you don't like something here, you can go elsewhere. These outlets are nice and clean, but they are from the best I have been to. However, I come here for the aforementioned stores due to constant sales offers! Despite the distance from places, these outlets come recommended due to a plethora of shopping options! read more

GREAT place to stretch your legs and take a pee break when you're on the I-5 regardless of whether you are going north or south. It's a typical outlet with many of the same stores you see at other outlets EXCEPT for Pottery Barn. OMG, this outlet mall is worth it just for PB! I can't pass through without getting something for my home. As for the pee break, I like the toilets here. They keep their bathrooms relatively well maintained. Nearby there are many gas and food options as well. See you next time I'm on the I-5. read more

I knew of this outlet mall for some time but never had a chance to go until a few months ago. It's a fairly large shopping center in the middle of nowhere right before you hit Bakersfield. They have all the brand name stores. I went right after Halloween so all the store were discounting their prices down to kick off the holiday sale. Most stores have good sales. But again, you need to know what your budget is and what you're willing to spend before you walk into these stores. Personally, I found very good sales here. The Columbia store in particular had a very good sale going on at the time. I found a jacket there for under $40. I also found Sketchers memory foam flip flops for $25 and some Addidas merchandise for a price that's can't be beat! Overall, it's a great place to shop and plus the tax rate is much cheaper out here. 7.25% to my 9.50%! Can't get any better than that!! read more

My daypack had my AirPods and favorite workout jacket. I immediately rushed to the Management office about an hour after realizing, even though I was preparing not to see my belongings again. I have been to the Tejon Outlets in 2-3 years so I finally decided to drive and spent the day there. Some things changed like the Tesla Charge station, a few stores opened up but qt the end of the day I didn't buy anything. There was ok deals but I think the Camarillo Outlets this time had the better deals and and availability. Noting wrong with Tejon Outlets maybe just went in a bad time. read more

This outlet is pretty much in the middle don nowhere, but it is nice and clean. I stopped here on the way to San Francisco during the Labor Day weekend and walked around a bit. This outlet has great retail stores that sell their products for a reasonable price. They have adidas, nikes, etc. It was pretty vacant considering it was Labor Day weekend and the stores had some good sales going on. It is an outdoor outlet and I came here on a pretty hot day, so check the weather if you plan on shopping for a while and wear sunscreen or layer up accordingly! I wish this place was closer to me so I could go often, but sadly it isn't. I hope it got more crowded on Labor Day and more people came out to see the stores. read more

Tejon Outlets is a great place to stop and stretch your legs before you continue on your long drive back to the Bay Area. It's located before the grapevine, giving you a decent place to stop and get gas, grab something to eat, and shop. There is plenty of parking here and the restrooms are fairly clean. They even have family restrooms which is helpful when you're traveling with little ones. It's a more upscale outlet and includes a Pottery Barn and Le Creuset outlet along with your usual Nike, Banana Republic, Coach, Columbia, H&M, etc. I definitely recommend staying here if you need a break from driving. The people working here are generally pretty friendly and it doesn't get too crowded. The sales have always been great too! read more

I stopped at the Tejon outlets to stretch my legs on my drive from the Bay to L.A. They're never crowded even on the weekends. I generally stop for clothing but this time I went straight to LeCruset and Pottery Barn to buy a few items for my home and to get ready for Thanksgiving. Even though my purchases were super discounted I still ended up dropping $400 on 3 pots at LeCruset. That's the nature of the beast when you shop at outlets especially the higher end stores. Shoppers beware--cash goes easy at the outlets and Tejon is no exception. I knocked one star because the food court and the food options at these outlet are severely lacking. read more

I've passed by this outlet several times. Finally stopped on the way home. I like how the Outlet is connected as one versus other Outlet malls like Gilroy, which is spread out into different sections. This is a much more realistic outlet in terms of size since I assume most people are just passing through. It won't take you a long time to walk through the whole place. The mall is very nicely designed and looks somewhat upscale. At least compared to a few other outlets I've been to. Most of the stores here don't appeal to me, but I'm sure most people would be satisfied. You do have to kind of hunt for the bargains though because most things aren't greatly discounted. It's worth checking out if you need a place to stretch your legs after a long car ride. read more

Okay. Here's an update. While the actual facilities themselves are nice. Quite beautiful actually, the lack of variety and number stores closing was kind of sad. So many of the stores that were here a few years ago were gone. In their place were chintzy mall-style stores. The absolute worst thing here is the lack of food options. There's a food court with the basics, but that's it. If you're looking for a beer or cocktails you're really out of luck. read more

Really nice mix of shops and outlet stores (note: Not all of them are outlet stores) so don't expect great deals from all of the stores. The area in general is still a work in progress. A Carl's Jr, Starbucks and a Pieology Pizza just opened near the entrance. It adds more options which is nice because the centers food court only has about 5 options. I don't know if they will be adding new stores in future but the place is spotless for an outdoor mall. They have plenty of benches with umbrellas, large sections are covered and equipped with large fans to beat the heat as it does get rather hot. Certainly wouldn't hurt adding more stores considering they don't have nearly as many stores as the outlet mall in Gilroy for example. Only thing I don't really like about this place is the poor cell reception. A few months back i stopped by and noticed verizon had some kind of mobile antenna out in parking lot which don't do me any good since I'm tied to Att. They do have Wifi which is okay for the time you're there. For the people traveling by its a great place to stop at, stretch your legs and get that blood flowing again before heading up grapevine or coming down from it. read more

These outlets opened in August 2014. Still a work in progress. When you leave to North I-5 to SAC and S.F. is very confusing. They need better signage ! There is a Black Bear Diner which is a plus, and construction is underway for a couple of other restaurants. Overall its a real Miniature Outlet Mall. The best place to eat is DON PERICOS Mexican Restaurant. (There is Family friendly Restrooms and Two Unisex Restrooms nextdoor to Don Pericos Mexican Restaurant) .Highlights Stores here are Pottery Barn, Nike, Polo, Guess, Adidas, Puma, Reebok, Banana Republic, Coach. read more

My wife likes shopping at outlet centers. She always finds better bargains at outlets as compared to shopping malls. Very convenient that the Outlets at Tejon are only 30 minutes away. Fortunately for our pocketbook, we've only been here twice since it opened. We've only been to a few stores here plus the food court. By far, the Columbia outlet is our favorite store here because of the great deals. It has other positives. Plenty of parking. No crowds of people. Very clean facilities. Nice music playing. Mostly Kern County restaurants featured in the food court. Will probably return to the Outlets at Tejon a few times a year. read more

You see signs off the freeway miles before. It's in the middle of nowhere so easy to find. There's plenty of parking. This place is very clean and well maintained. The bathrooms were spotless. There is plenty of stores to shop at. I've gone to other outlets and the prices are ok I feel like these have the best quality and prices. The people who work here very nice. My favorite store is coach unique things and good prices. I recommend checking it out if you're going to Southern California. read more

My husband and I finally visited the outlets this past Monday! We stopped by after going over the grapevine and heading into the Bakersfield area (northbound on the I-5 fwy). We heard of all the chaos / masses when the outlets first opened , so decided to come on an off-day. It's awesome coming on a Monday afternoon because there was barely anyone there. Most of the stores only had a few customers. We were happy to visit Pottery Barn Outlet, H&M, and some other stores we haven't been to in awhile. Picked up a couple items and was able to bring our pup too. They allow pets in the outside areas of the outlet, but each store has their own policy re: whether they allow pets inside. We just carried our tiny pup in our arms so none of the stores complained at all, they were happy to say hi to our pup in fact. :) Hooray! We think it's pretty cool to have an outlet at Tejon Ranch and would recommend people to drop by on a non-crowded off-day! Your experience would be so much better. (also just don't expect too much) read more

I waited 45 minutes in line due to one register being held hostage by some annoying chick because they weren't refunding her what she "paid" yet had no receipt. So instead of moving that whole situation to the side since you guys are portable with iPads and all that, you entertain that and hold that register up. Nice and clean. Employees at all places very nice. Michael Kors girl won't listen, but at the end she figured me out. My favorite stores are the Michael Kors store, Pottery Barn, H&M, Converse, Nike, and Adidas. I like to shop. I'll shop anywhere, but for a regular person to just go check it out there are stores that we just don't have at the Valley Plaza in Bakersfield. They don't have much advertising. This place was so new I had to create an entry for yelp. We were on our way back from Disney and Universal to make a pit stop to check these outlets out. Don't come here if you are hungry. Only the ice cream shop, Tony's Pizza, and Juicy Burger were open at this time of writing (August 8). They really should install fans at the door cause the food court was FULL of flies (like any proper ranch). Since there were only two places to eat in the food court, the lines were long. Luckily our friend said there was a BBQ truck parked outside the food court with no line. I'll give this place some time to grow. The shops are outdoors similar to Gilroy outlets but more like the Livermore outlets. read more

Finally stopped in here. I bee-lined straight for the Nike store as I've been in other Nike outlet stores before. Sometimes they have good prices, but usually they're not better than what I can find online. This store has all sorts of Nike clothing and shoes. I was in the market for some running shoes (previous model) and found them here...however, the price was definitely higher than even their own website. I spoke with the manager (I assume) about the price and even offered to buy 2 pairs if they could give me a better price. He said no...so I left without purchasing anything. I stopped in a couple of the other shoe stores also just to browse. There are lots of stores here as well as places to eat. For me, I needed to take a break from my long drive and to stretch my legs...so this was way better than a rest stop. Only drawback is that you'll spend more time and probably more money! read more

We were on our way to Anaheim on I5 late Wednesday evening when we passed by this place. Last we went to Disneyland this place was still being built and that was approximately 10 weeks ago. Curious this time around on when it'd actually be open, we saw it opened this week. So here we are on our way home, decided to swing by here. For me, I'm only a real fan of very few stores most outlets have to offer. This outlet had a a few of them here, Nike and Polo. Like many of the times I go to an outlet no major steals/deals... What I could get here I could get back at home. You'd honestly have to be in a major shopping mood to enjoy this place. Lol I guess I wasn't really, after spending tons of money on SoCal amusement parks. Anyway, I'm rating them what they have to offer at this point for being brand new. They had tons of parking upon our arrival, good selection of retailers, restrooms and other areas are well maintained. Loved they had family restrooms!! Having a family you learn to appreciate these kind of things :) My only curiosity had to do with their food court vendors... There was only 2 or 3? One of which was an ice cream shop. Saw a few vendors "coming soon" but personally they should have already been available at least for the sake that we have a few more options. I had a choice between ice cream, pizza, or burgers.... RIGHT haha Luckily walking outside the food court there was a Subway and a private BBQ vendor. I'm sure over time that will change. Saw a few places surrounding the outlets near the gas stations of course, in case you need more options. Overall, this place is nice but not spectacular. I guess I had high expectations for it being open for the first time this weekend we'd fine SOME steals. All that I ran into were usual store deals. Gaaaah.... Awesome place to stop though!! I stop here on my way to and from Southern California. Pros: - It's like any typical outlets, but this place is really clean and new looking - restrooms are really clean and really nice. I like coming here after hours of driving. I was really surprised the first time I went inside because it looks like a hotel restroom lol Overall, Best place to stop on your road trip to go to the restroom, stretch your legs, enjoy some fresh air and maybe get something nice for yourself while you're at it :D read more

These outlets are "A-OKAY" compared to other outlets like let's say "Cabazon" or "Camarillo" it feels sub-par in the lack of higher quality known brand name retailers. The one big retailer that seemed unique to this outlet 'tho was a "Pottery Barn" and an "H&M" outlet which you don't see at every factory outlet. If this opened up a year or so ago and is looking to expand there's great promise in the future on the horizon. Right now I'd say it's comparable to the outlets at "Barstow" and a notch below "Citadel", "Ontario Mills" and "Las Vegas" outlets in terms of store selection, both quantity and quality. It's located right before the grapevine (if coming from Nor Cal to So Cal) or right after the grapevine (if coming from So Cal to Nor Cal). That makes this a good resting / breaking point, so geographically it's in an ideal location. read more

I love shopping for bargains, and if your an outlet shopper this is the place for you. Its really a huge and grand new addition to the factory outlet family, especially to the central valley region and a perfect pit-stop stop or emergency shopping stop for anyone traveling on the CA-99 and CA-5. I would visit their website to make sure I have the right exit or program my GPS before hand to exit here,because they exit to tejon is still not visible. It was opened like probably end of last year and already the outlets was filled with many big brands that you can find at outlets near to Los Angeles (Citadel & Camarillo) and the bay area (Gilroy and Livermore) The bargains here are great (you need to sort the really good deals from the bad just like at any outlets) and you can find majority of the stores at other outlets here, you might want to check their website before visiting to make sure they have the stores you want. Im just disappointed that they don't have a kate spade here. They have a massive parking structure so its never a problem parking here - free of charge and getting in and out the parking has got to be the easiest. The shopping experience here for me has been positive and I have gotten great bargains.. The stores are arranged in a grid system and is facing one another so its really great and safe, because you can go door to door without walking too far and you don't have to cross any street unlike other outlets (very practical if you have kids). The outlets have plenty of place to sit to rest while waiting and also is very nicely decorated with gardens, fountains, and covered in most parts, so its not too hot shopping there during summer. Bathrooms are clean and new. They have a huge cafeteria where they offer pizza, wings, burgers, ice cream, salads, chinese and subway. The only thing missing at this outlet is a coffee and tea store, which is a bummer because I love a cafe to drink some coffee while waiting for my friends or family shopping. read more

We decided to stop here to let our son stretch out and run around a bit on our trip from LA to the Bay Area. I was pleasantly surprised. We found a good handful of stores to go into, and we ended up buying more than we anticipated. We didn't look too hard, but we did not see a play area for kids. ALL shopping areas of this size need something for kids (pssss...having a play area usually gets parents/moms to shop longer!). However, overall this place has a nice look and layout. I'm not sure if we'd stop on every trip through this area, but if we have the time I'd consider it! read more
