I went to this location to look for a belt and wallet combo which I had purchased in the past here. I asked the one of the sales floor lady and she seemed uninterested as to what I was asking for, after 3 failed attempts to explain what I wanted she abruptly stated "we do t have it" turned around and walked away from me rudely without giving a chance to ask for another item I wanted. I asked for a manager and this lady came and O asked attempted to explain what had occurred with her employee, but she kept looking at bewildered and confused, she proceeded to state I don't even know we have that but ok, I tried to explained to her, her employees rude behavior but she just kept acting bewildered and confused, and made no effort to understand what O was saying. My very first time coming here and I am sooo happy I stopped here on my way back to the bay area from LA! The staff is super friendly, VERY helpful and not at all pushy. The store is beautiful and the product was very well organized and presented very well. I SCORED 5 beautiful handbags for $412! We walked in and barely received a "hello." It didn't bother me as I am not even really a fan of the brand. I walked around and noticed the prices are not comparable to other outlets. The Citadel has better prices. Anyways, we walked away from the the wall that separated the clothes and I saw the employees just standing to take pictures. Well, after about 30 minutes she left happy with her purchase. There were good deals throughout the store, but she got a very good deal that made our pocketbook happy as well. Fortunately, she doesn't splurge on purses and accessories too often. If she does then this outlet store is a good place to spend some hard earned money in. Michael Kors outlet in Tejon has a small fraction of the much larger stores. This one has a small bit of mainly purses, wallets and a few cases of men's and women's watches. I tried to walk past it... Not to go in... But something kept calling to me. It was a super cute studded MK bag. And on sale too! Original $399 got it for $299! Couldn't pass it up. I walked into the shop separate from my husband. A very nice lady welcomed me and we had a nice chat (therefore the 2 stars). A few moments later my husband walked in, did not receive a hello or welcome, and then found me in the store. I wanted to know what the price of a purse was, so he took the purse and asked a woman working there (Stacy). Stacy rudely ignored him, so he asked again a little louder and then she rudely replied then immediately turned her back to him. Stacy was not helping anyone, so it wasn't like he interrupted her or anything. Stacy proceeded to walk away and rudely stare and give nasty looks to my husband. Not once did she smile or engage any customers while we were in the store. If Stacy was having a bad day, I would recommend for Stacy to keep her sour attitude at home since she clearly does not understand customer service. It's unfortunate for Stacy otherwise she could have had a sale. If I were management, I would check on Stacy since she clearly does not like her job and I feel bad for those that have to work with her. read more

Walked into the store last Sunday 1/7/18 afternoon (around 2pm) and although store full of employees not one person said hello. Some were gathered around the cashwrap counter gossiping about other employees. Not a good look! I wanted to make sure their customer service wasn't this bad...but still walked the entire store no greetings from the employees. The product itself is excellent quality. However it's hard to support a brand that doesn't stand by a positive customer experience + service policy. I always walk into a MK store and regret. They are always treating non-white customers like they're stealing, not a good habit. This is probably why business has declined for MK through the years: -Customer service - it doesn't exist - Return policy - cannot return even with receipt, only exchange. Even that is complicated and they try to upsell you. (Outlet and freestanding MK stores) I don't mind spending money on a handbag, but I would rather invest in a company that supports positive customer connection. This is a pretty typical Michael Kors outlet. The sales were about 25-50% with an extra 20% off if you spend over $250. Why I am giving this location a poor rating is because of the pushy staff. You can tell immediately that the staff work on commission. They were worse than a car dealership. I have never been more harassed in an outlet shop than in this location. We walked in and were told of the sales and the clearance rack immediately, which was fine. From then on, we were asked if we wanted to know the price of any bag we touched. I couldn't bump into a bag by accident without knowing what the reduced price would be. The one sales girl even got mad at another sales associate because I asked her a question on a color of a bag. Seriously? She's your coworker and I can hear you getting mad at her for trying to take her customer. I am all for being helped when it is needed, but this sales girl followed me around the store standing 5 feet away from me. And saying comments such as "that color is such a good color for you" is not going to make me buy anything. I find it condescending and fake. If you can handle pushy and overbearing sales associates, you can handle this store. If not, drive the extra 2 hours to another outlet that offers the same merchandise. read more

This store gets packed with customers and it feels a bit small. But the positives are that the service is friendly and the place is fairly stocked. When I walk into Michael Kors, I pretty much know what I'm looking for and I can be in and out of the store in under 15 minutes. But the line gets pretty long and other customers are still deciding which items they should get which prolongs their time at the register. I have no patience. They really should open up an express lane or self checkout. hahaha. Imagine! I like that this location offers all styles of bags from small wristlets to overnight bags in an array of colors in either silver or gold hardware. This location also sells watches, sunglasses, wallets for men and women, etc. Sometimes you can get an iPhone or iPad case but those usually sell out quick. The only downside is that I don't feel they give as big of a discount as the Coach Outlet. Oh, and their sunglasses are more expensive than the Coach store too. read more

Went here with my family and my mom wanted to check out the store since it's one of her favorite brands. I am not much of a fan of the brand but still went in with my mom. While looking around to find a new bag for my mom, we noticed an employee, a blonde white lady who was staring at us and giving us dirty looks. we felt very judged by her and idk if it was because we were speaking spanish and wore clothes that were not high end but we just knew she didn't want us in there. My stepdad and brother immediately left as soon as we went inside because they could feel that we weren't welcomed. We were dressed nicely and didn't make any commotion while there, we were just ordinary people who wanted to shop while taking a break from a long drive. I felt very angry and upset that my family had to experience that while shopping and decided to not waste our time with ignorant people like that. I wanted to exchange a hand bag that I bought last Saturday (4 days ago). I never used it and I had the receipt. The manager, Colt McCoy, refused to exchange it for store credit, based upon my Hispanic appearance and accent. While I was waiting in line, I observed that he was giving great customer service to an Asian woman. However, when it was my turn, his attitude completely changed. He refused to speak to me. He stated "I do not understand your English", he then proceeded to very rudely make a gesture with his hands to express to me to stop talking. So, after he shrugs me off, he redirects me to a Mexican-American employee who spoke broken Spanish, even though I never asked for an interpreter. But she wasn't much help anyway as far as basic communication goes, as her Spanish was deplorable and lacking in even the most fundamental grammar and syntax. In the end he wouldn't exchange my bag for another because he claimed it was scratched, despite no visible or superficial scratches on the bag. This store's work culture is inherently racist. On Saturday when I originally purchased the bag, I observed an East Asian family setting off the alarm at the door, and the employees gestured them out of the store and said "you're fine", but when the same thing happened to a Hispanic family, the employees proceeded to check all of their bags, making sure that they hadn't stolen anything. Employees at this specific store are also are more attentive with Asian and Caucasian clientele, but they neglect their Hispanic customer base when it comes to customer service. When my daughter and I entered the store, My daughter was immediately greeted warmly (she has European features and is always confused for a white person), while I was ignored. This is not the first negative experience I've had at Michael Kors. This is the fourth bag I've bought from MK, however, after this experience where I was unjustly treated and discriminated based on my non-native accent, this is the last time I do business with MK. I've experienced much better customer service from decent people at the Coach at El Tejon Outlets, adjacent to MK. I was surprised upon discovering that Colt McCoy was even employed at this store let alone as the manager, as he has a very unkempt, unprofessional appearance including prominent tattoos on both arms. If possible I would give this location 0 stars, nay negative stars for exhibiting disgusting racist behaviour. But I digress, 1 star for you Michael Kors location at El Tejon Outlets and Colt McCoy, for illustrating a prime example of bigotry in the 21st century. read more

Felt like I just got conned. I don't really shop at outlets but needed a small bag to travel conveniently with my doggies. I saw a bag that was ok and was a bit reluctant to buy it bc I didn't really like the look. I bought it anyways (and a few dresses on sale) saying I could return it if I found something better next door. The girl who helped me saw I was debating (I even told her that I didn't like the biggo logo) but neglected to tell me that they only do store credit if return. Sure enough I went to Coach and found a better looking bag. I went back to MK to return the bag I bought 10min ago only to find out its store credits for return only. Sure it says that in the back of the receipt but isn't that too late to see it on the back of the receipt AFTER the purchase when associates didn't tell u nor was there sign that I could see in the store. First of all I like Michael Kors as a designer, I really do love his runway collections. Now his Lifestyle stores and outlet stores I just don't really care for, some of the handbags are nice, although there's also a lot of handbags with a lot of bling, especially the outlet bags, I have no problem with a little bling, after all simplicity goes along way. Everybody these days seems to have a lot of Michael Kors, well the handbags for the most part, and the market is overly saturated with his merchandise, especially the MK handbags with his logo all over them, They're starting to look a little tacky. Now this store I just don't care for, the sales associates are extremely rude, and they look you up and down as if they are judging you on what your wearing, most likely with the mind set that you can't afford anything in here, it's so unprofessional. This is an outlet/mall store in Kern county, selling outlet merchandise designed for these stores at a fraction of the price. it's also most likely discontinued, this is not a flagship store like the one on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills, which I have been to several times and I was treated far better with a lot more class, respect, and dignity, something the people who work at this store know nothing about. read more
