Not sure while I am giving them a four star instead of three, but here I go... I was greeted by the friendly hostesses as I walked in and told them I was sitting at the bar. Once at the bar, I was approached by a less than friendly female bartender. It seemed like she was more interested in the locals than the out of towners that sat at her bar. I ordered their advertised Smoked Old Fashioned which is supposed to have Woodford Reserve. I saw no Woodford on the bar and was actually served The cheapest version of Four Roses in the Smoked Old Fashioned. The drink was OK, but not what was advertised. I ordered their Medium Kookaburra Wings with Ranch. Even though the wings were good, they are very small. I finished with a pint of Foster's which was one of the highlights. I am a life long fan of Outback, over 20 years. The quality isnt the same. The Ausie Cheese fries were clouted as being my all time favorite but they no longer "hand cut" in house. The ranch doesn't taste the same as it once did. It seems to lack that from scratch flavor it once had. I grabbed a ribeye and double ausie fries just to give it another go. The fries were soggy and salty. The once gooey mounds of cheese are gone and the ranch didnt hit the same. The steak had a good seasoning atop but was lacking any sear, crust or texture. It was gray and soggy. The waiter didn't know which steak I was requesting even though I was reading the name straight from the menu.. I seldom leave bad reviews and I won't leave one here. I would say it was an average experience for a once great restaurant. Not sure I'll return any time soon with their being so much competition. Hopefully when I eventually do in a few years they'll have regained that level of detail they were once known for. read more

Its been 5 months and still no word back from management. It was the worst I've had anywhere in 15 years. I ordered a prime rib and Aussie fries thru the app. I placed the order at like 9am for pick up around noon. I get there to pick up at the scheduled time and the guy says "I was just about to call you, we are out of prime rib". You guys have been open for an hour. You didn't know any earlier you were out of prime rib? I'll just take the fries and refund me for the prime rib. He gets his manager. She will not refund me bc apparently it goes thru the owner. She offers me a ribeye. Ok whatever. When I say that it was wayyyyyyy overseasoned, it would probably be an understatement. I feel like they dumped a whole bottle of seasoning on it. Go eat at McDonalds, Its better quality and better service. One of our party ordered a ribeye steak medium rare, it came well done, she could not eat it. Others had to much seasoning , my identical steak did not have to much but the wifes did so we took it home to feed to the cat.. We did not get our bread until we were almost done eating. We decided to go down under for dinner while we were visiting Paducah, Kentucky! The Outback Steakhouse was conveniently located right next door to our hotel. We were able to call ahead for our table and take a short walk across the parking lot to arrive. I received a 'Welcome Mate' text message to let us know our table was ready. We were escorted to our booth as soon as we walked in. The staff and even the customers were very friendly. The Outback Steakhouse host let my Dad know he thought his last name was pretty cool to be the name of a Simpson cartoon character. A gentleman dining with his two daughters admired my Michigan State University t-shirt only for us to strike up a conservation about MSU Basketball Coach Tom Izzo being his parent's neighbor - all before I took a seat. Let me tell you mate, our server Soundra, was outstanding. It was a busy Friday night. She needed roller skates because she handled what seemed to be the entire left side of the restaurant all by herself with just a little assistance in bringing out the food. She was hustling, sweating and providing refills to make sure we had a great dining experience! We tipped her accordingly too! The food was delicious! The warm bread and butter is always a great start. Just don't get full on the bread. I ordered one of the down under faves, which was the Kingsland Steak & Shrimp Pasta. I was so full afterwards that I had to pass on getting any carrot cake. Although the restaurant was packed, it was not noisy. We could easily converse over dinner and not have to raise our voices. I VERY RARELY ever leave a bad review. But this is the worst Outback I've ever been to and I have never had a bad experience at Outback. I'm in Paducah for work I had a long day so I was excited to see an Outback soo close to my hotel, (regret choosing them now) so I decided to treat myself to $45 meal. Ordered a medium rare prime rib steak, chili, baked potato with everything on it. I went to pick it up which at first the restaurant was not busy I stood in the take out area for about 10 mins while workers passed me by which ok fine. The guy the brought the food was pleasant. I went back to my hotel excited to enjoy my prime rib. Just to open up the box to a grey piece of dry meat (smaller than I ordered by the way) I never return food because I been in the food business before. But I couldn't eat this. I called the manager said to come back so I did. I waited in the take out area he brought the food he was super nice the food looked better I was happy. Untilllllll I get back to the room open the container and a weird chemically smell was coming from the steak. I said maybe it's in my head so I take a bite absolutely horrible I can't even describe the taste. I kept trying but couldn't do it came to the realization I'm just going to have to be out of $45 and threw every thing away. Ohhh the chili! Had lunch on Valentine's Day. The service was wonderful it was very busy at 12:30. We order the 3 course meals. Chopped steak baked potato and salad with cheese cake for dessert. Hamburger baked potatoe salad and cheese cake for dessert. Grilled shrimp salad baked potato and cheese cake for dessert. Everything we order was hot and fresh. The Manager didn't even come by to check on us to see how everything was doing. Time is 10:07pm Wednesday 3-25-2026 and we been here since 9:18 and just got our food at 1020!! The worse birthday diner ever and our server gabe was no help at all. No reason a lady who came in 20mins after us got her food before ours. Me and wifey have never been here. We wanted to try something new and wanted to test the waters on how good a steak would be here. 1st: The host needs to learn to be a lil bit more friendly and stay off his phone while at work. He basically acted like we didnt excist. Sat us and left without saying a word. 2nd: The server we had was awesome. Except for the fact you can tell she really didnt want to be there. So you can tell her smile was a fake one. Of course it wasnt like that at first until later on in the night. Either way ive had alot worse servers. She was good when she came to us. I mean everyone else delivered our food. But no big complaints. 3rd: We got the blooming onion. Very salty and wasnt good after a few mins due to it cooling off very quickly. My wife ordered the Fillet Mignon (medium) with a baked potato and salad and i ordered the Porterhouse Steak (medium, seared on the outside) with mashed potatoes and veggies (which is only broccoli). Her food came out great according to her. Mine on the other hand came out well done with no sear on the outside. The middle by the bone was perfect but that was it. It had no flavor to it like they forgot to season it. I also didnt get my mashed potatoes until the manager brought them all because i complained about the steak. You would think paying $35 for a steak it would be dang near perfect. The mashed potatoes you can tell came from a bag because they were very running. Not expecting that from a steak joint. Now the server did ask me if i wanted another one but i declined because i didnt want my wife to have to eat alone and i didnt want her to have to wait on me to eat after we got the new steak. The manager came out and asked me if i needed anything and because im a nice guy i said no ty. Well she did comp our food for us which we didnt ask her to so that was nice. That and the server is the only reason they got 3 stars from me. The place was clean nontheless. No complaints there. Well except i hate restaurants that give you a cloth to use to clean urself up. We did not ask for a free meal or discount. The oil they fried the blooming onion and shrimp in must have been cold when they dumped them in. The steak was supposed to be filet mignon. It was the wrong cut, texture,& very fatty. The shrimp i ordered twice&the second set was as bad as the first. I could have bounced them around they were so tough and gross. Look at that cake. It's supposed to be Sweet &rich butter cake topped w/strawberries& house-made whipped cream. It had the consistency of month old cornbread. I got no whipped cream. I even asked the waitress before i ordered the desert to go if it was good. I was still hungry because i didnt eat my meal. She enthusiastically said yes. She lied obviously. How is this okay? We tipped her 20-25 for this monstrosity. I was trying not to be a Karen but it's a week later and I'm still bothered. My husband and i are older, disabled veterans. It's probably been 10 years since I've eaten at this particular Outback because of poor service and mediocre food. I will say my latest visit was much better but still had some problems. The restaurant had been remodeled since my last visit and look nice. The wait staff was excellent! Our waiter was very attentive, friendly, and helpful. Ordered an onion for appetizer. While it was pretty good it was over cooked and really crunchy and a bit burned. The plates we received to eat our appetizer on, were clearly not clean. We could see food residue left on the plate. The table was not wiped off very well at all and had leftover food crumbs and a sheen like a dirty rag was used to clean it off. The food was pretty good. I got the ribeye with grilled shrimp, mashed potatoes, and Mac n cheese. The ribeye was perfectly cooked. The mashed potatoes were not very warm to fairly cold. The Mac n cheese was too spiced up for my taste, but did find out the children's Mac n cheese doesn't have the spices. I was disappointed to find that I only received 4 shrimp, but they were cooked well. I gave 3 stars for the wait staff and the steak. My husband and I were in Outback a little before 4pm after doing some Christmas shopping. We were in no hurry and enjoyed a good meal. Mgmt was acting as the greeter/seater. Our meal was good and served by a very friendly server. The problem came when she was doing EVERYTHING and had quite a few tables. Our drinks were kept full and she made sure we were not going without anything. There was a bus person and he was doing nothing as the servers were working so hard. There was a line waiting to be seated and no clean tables except for the few she cleaned herself. I was a restaurant manager for many years and it took all of my reserve to not get up and help these servers. Our server, Taylor was a sweetheart. When ever I have any coupons or $ off I always say so at seating. It was free blooming onion day and we said so right away. My husband has been saving points on the fetch app for a $10 off bill coupon . Taylor said no problem on the free app but they don't accept fetch. It was 11 am and the three of us did lunch specials. My brother in law had coconut shrimp with fries. I had the soup and salad and husband had chilli with a burger. Our onion was good , but ever so lightly on the salty side. If anyone needs to hear the chilli is on the spicy side. Now picky here but I really wanted French onion soup but was told if I started with loaded potato my second bowl would be onion. But of course I was too full from the loaded potato. It saved a buck this way. Our bill came to close to seventy bucks. Would have been eighty with the blooming onion. The food is ok ish and I would have ordered a drink if we could have used the fetch coupon( maybe with a drink in me it would have gained a star) Restaurant was pretty clean and bathrooms clean but the men's room needed paper towels ( which would have been on the ok side at 3 pm , not right at opening) I've always heard a restaurant is good if you come back. We were staying in the hotel next door and got takeaway to eat in our room after a long day of driving. As usual, the food was very good and supplied after a minimal wait, but I need to call out in specific the service I received. When I paid my bill, a tip had already been added. I didn't add it on the Outback web site I used to order, and no space existed for me to sign it on the slip. It was printed already. Weird, right? We couldn't figure out what happened because Outback can't tack on a tip like that: either you enter it manually at the restaurant or you supply it when you order via a food delivery site like Grubhub or Doordash. But when I got back to our room, Dana - the employee handling the takeaway window - called me to explain I had somehow signed the wrong bill (which had been for almost exactly the same amount as our order) and that no, a tip hadn't been added without my knowledge. I bemoaned my inability to ADD a tip but Dana assured me that was fine; she just didn't want me to feel like something had gone wrong with the transaction. Dana tracked me down at my hotel - I hadn't left a number, so she must have seen me walking back with the food - to reassure me. Unfortunately, we had a bad experience at the Outback last night. Went for my brother's birthday and the service was lacking and the food was even worse!! We waited for a while to get any kind of service. We were not told about the specials until we asked, our server was very blunt and rude. Three people in our party got Alice Springs chicken and all three were very disappointed, chicken over cooked, bacon burnt. I wanted coconut shrimp, and they were out, should have informed us of that before we ordered. Decided on the grilled shrimp which were, not grilled at all, smothered in an extremely salty seasoning, not good, couldn't eat them they were so salty!! Salad was sub-par, that should be super easy and fresh!! Probably the worst experience I have ever had at an Outback Restaurant. 2.5 A 2.5 rating is fair for this location. I'm grateful that I didn't look it up prior to coming here. I know this is a small town but folks have to do better. You have to. I hadn't been to an Outback in [redacted] years. Last time I was at one was on a date in the West Bank of New Orleans and I tried to woo my boo with ice chips in my beer and splurging on a bloomin' onion. I know, ladies; klassy, right? That was the last time I'd set foot in one until yesterday. I'd gotten a wild hair to surprise my mom and grandmother for Mother's Day. I'd planned everything out: arrival, gifts. All I needed to figure out was where to go. Problem. Paducah doesn't seem to have open restaurants on Sundays. My planning was for naught, however, as my mom told me that (since no one knew I was coming), my cousins had made plans to go to the Outback... with a group of 20. Oh Lord. Not wanting to be 'that' cousin (as I so often am), I went along with the plans. It was wonderful seeing family members I hadn't seen in far too long a time and being the surprise guest meant all eyes on me, which never gets old. I'd prepared myself to have iced tea and grab some gas station peanuts on the way home. Surely Outback couldn't accommodate my problematic gut, right? Wrong. Outback has a dedicated gluten-free menu and preparation*. Lookitthat. I settled in to my booth, longed for the bread and sweet butter in front of me, ordered an Arnold Palmer (made with sweet tea and pink lemonade, I might have been better off ordering a plain glass of diabetes), ordered my dinner... and waited. I get it. Huge party. You want to serve everyone's meal together. It's a nearly impossible task. That's why I am rounding up. But, it took nearly two hours to receive chicken with cheese, mushrooms and bacon and a side of fries. That's a really long time no matter how you slice it. Our waitstaff & management were kind. They were trying their best but two hours is a long time for a non-multiple course meal at a non-five star restaurant. It is. I was grateful that, despite my plate not being very exciting to look at, my meal was correct. Many people had steak orders that didn't come out as requested. Again, I get it. Lots of people. Temperamental meat. But... you're a steakhouse. This is what you do. At least, it's what you should do. I wound up leaving after 2.5 hours because I needed to hit the road. Plates were still being delivered as I left. There was also the small matter of someone hitting a parked vehicle and the staff was tasked with finding the owner of the damaged car. Thankfully, it wasn't mine. I just took it as a sign that I needed to get out. There was a wait list when we got there which was fine. We were told 15 minutes.. It was 35 before we were called. Ok that happens. We were seated and after 10 minutes I asked the hostess if our waitress knew we were there. She did come to the table and took our order. She brought our drinks and we never saw her after that. We were at the table for 40 minutes and still did not even have a piece of bread in front of us let alone our salads. When we saw her walk out with a glass of water for another table and nothing else we left. Talked to the manager who apologized. Went down the street to OCharlies and had a great dinner. We had traveled for 10+ hours and tried Outback because it was close to our hotel. NEVER AGAIN! They were 10 minutes late getting the order out (curbside). Ok, that happens, but when they brought the food and I went through the bag, they forgot French fries for the hamburger, grilled chicken on the salad (which was supposed to be a Cobb...far from it). The food was thrown in the containers. I went back in and asked for those items, then when I got home, they gave my red wine vinegar (just that, a teaspoons worth) as a dressing instead of the balsamic vinegar and oil. We stopped here on our trip back to St. Louis and it was a great stop. I chose not to sit with my group because I like sitting at the bar. I started there with Jacquelyn and she was very kind pleasant and efficient. I love the Blackberry Martini and she did an awesome job making the two that I drank. Once I was fairly done I asked to be moved to my group as I paid my bill and was thoroughly satisfied with Jacquelyn's service and left her an awesome tip. After I was reseated with the gang I met Byan who hadn't brought their selections yet. He came over immediately to see If I needed anything. I instantly loved his personality ....extremely personable and funny. Great waiter I don't think I have been in Outback Steakhouse yet with bad service. They are teaching them the same as Chik-fi-la "great customer service" it usually lacking at chains but not Outback.....what I look for is that chipper smile and interaction with staff, the bomb martini because the food is basic nothing to write home about. read more

I've been going to Outbacks around the world for almost two decades now, and sadly they are a shadow of their former selves. The location was decent and didn't have any major issues with the service, just things aren't as good as they used to be. Someone should be smacked for the menu changes to the French fries that come in the cheese fries. They used to be skin on potato freshly fried and piled high. now they're these crappy 'crunch-enhanced' fries with a single layer on the plate with some cheese and 'bacon' tossed on haphazardly. The only redeeming thing is that the ranch dressing recipe hasn't changed and it has that zing, but the fries are beyond disappointing. Steak was fine, overcooked as every location can't seem to medium rare anymore, and super thin. I don't know why I keep going back to these and being disappointed. They used to be a great value for the price, now they're trying to squeeze profit out of them and have gone cheap on the food, and no Prime menu or real options for a nice steak. read more

Get ready, this is unbelievable. First there were 4 employees at the hostess check in. A lot of standing around talking. Waited 10 minutes for a table. Second, I saw a young man behind the bar take a straw and sample a cocktail before the waitress took it to a customer. There was a new straw put in the drink. Third, when I offered my phone number for my rewards and my AARP card, I was told that would be the end. I have never had that response before. Four, the salad was a large percentage of rusty lettuce. Had to separate it out. Fifth, our server spent a lot of time with another table. They were person friends or were highly known. He ignored his other customers. Sixth, Hot food was not piping hot. Broccoli was undercooked, potato was warm and not the fluffy it usually at the standard.
