I've had some good food from here in the past but my last visit will unfortunately be my last. My family and I were seated by the restrooms. The wonderful waitress took our orders and we sat and drank. While waiting for our food we witnessed an Outback employee come out of the restroom and stick his hand down the rear of his pants, dig deep....then smell his hand while walking into the kitchen!!!! I immediately got up and found my waitress and told her what we saw. Once I pointed out the individual she said he was just a dishwasher but does handle the clean dishes. I talked with the family and all but one of us was too sickened to eat there. My future son in law decided to have his meal packaged to-go after the waitress said it did not touch any plates and she would box it. We paid for what we drank and his meal and got the hell out of there. Our experience was terrible overall. We only decided to eat here because we had a gift card. We waited over 30 minutes to be seated, even though 90% of the tables were empty and the quoted time was less than 20 minutes. They were extremely understaffed. We couldn't even sit in the waiting area at first because they had cushions piled up from their outside tables. My steak (bone in ribeye) was at least half fat and was barely edible. The house salad was tiny. My wife's salad came with onions, even though she asked for it without them. The sweet and baked potatoes were also very small. I usually eat at Outback 3-4 nights a week, when I'm traveling. We at twice at this one. The first time was mediocre. Food was good but the service was not very attentive. We gave it another try tonight, figuring it had to be better It wasn't. It was much worse. I used call ahead seating. When I arrived, nobody was at the check-in podium. The screen showed a 5-10 minute wait. When someone finally made it to the counter, I let them know we were on the call ahead seating list and was told it would be 5-10 minutes. Over the next 20 minuts or so, everyone who was there before us was seated, then everyone who came in after us was seated, and then the tried to seat me and my 12 year old son in the bar area. I asked to be seated elsewhere and was told there would be an additional wait. It was about 25 minutes total. So much for call ahead seating. The waitress was not very attentive. She didn't come over for quite a while after we were seated. Drinks were empty most of the night. Most of the help we had was from other servers. After the salad came out, we had to wait for her to come by to request silverware. The salad was WARM and croutons were soft. Our waitress wasn't around, so I just ate it. When my steak came out, the server who brought it out (not our waitress) waited while I cut into it. It was very, very tough, and there was a HUGE piece of gristle that went from one side of the steak to the other, covering about half of the steak. The server said he would get another one, and took my whole plate (including some broccoli that look fabulous). My son finished eating LONG before my replacement food came out. The replacement steak was better (not gristly anyway), but it wasn't seared at all and the flavor was off. When the manager and my waitress brought my replacement steak out, I told them that I needed to leave in 5 minutes, and asked if I could get the check right away. The broccoli on the replacement plate was undercooked. I didn't realize most of this until after the waitress and manager left, but it wouldn't have mattered because I didn't have time to wait. (We had already been there well over an hour.) I finished eating quickly, but it took almost FIFTEEN MINUTES to get the check and have the credit card run. We had somewhere we needed to be before 9pm (because they were closing) and we didn't make it. I was FURIOUS. One mediocre meal. No problem. It happens sometimes. A second meal that was even worse, with multiple problems, an outrageous wait, bad food, bad service, and no real resolution. That tells me there's a MANAGEMENT PROBLEM. I've eaten here at Outback a few times now. I've had the Teriyaki Marinated steak and a few other dishes but for me and me pocketbook, I still like their cheeseburger. It has a nice grilled flavor that fast foods places can't replicate. And it's $6.85 which comes with fries or a salad. Salad...have I mentioned the twisted love affair with Iceberg lettuce that restaurants have here in the South? It's better than some places I've been but I guess folks have a phobia for micro-greens or something. My only other criticism was one of my dining partner's Caesar salad came out dead last, when it should have probably been the first to be presented. Perhaps they had a hard time catching and plucking the chicken..and the waitress brought out the condiments a bit late for the burgers. I went here a couple weeks ago with my boyfriend and it was GREAT! We ordered a bloomin' onion as an appetizer and it was served to us before we were even ready to order. Curbside order: We ordered online today, because we stayed in a hotel nearby. The food was cold and they forgot the Risotto with the entree. We went back to pick it up. They did apologize. Food: cold, small portion, overpriced. The Parmesan Pasta had spicy peppers in it. We ordered it for a child. Description said Parmesan sauce, no mention of pepper. Overall: Very disappointing! So....I don't even know where to begin. Should I start with the 10 minute wait we had to go through; the restaurant was half empty, or should I talk about the "greasiness" of the floor. We tried to order a beer (Stella) that was on the menu, but they had removed it from the line. Not off the menu though. Also ordered some fried mushrooms as a starter, and when they showed up they looked like they had been fried in grease that hadn't been changed in a month. Super dark brown, and weirdly enough luke warm. Usually when mushrooms come out you cannot hardly eat them for they burn your mouth. The bowl they were in was on fire though. Clearly they sat in the window a minute. At this point I'm hoping my chicken tenders hit the spot, but low and behold they come out looking burnt as well (shocking since they came out of the same old grease) not to mention they weren't even hand breaded. They looked like some frozen tenders you can buy in the freezer at Walmart. Anyways...my wife ordered steak quesadillas...oh. My. God. What were they seasoned with. I don't know. 2 bites is all she could eat. DISGUSTING. I am super glad we had a gift card, (that our "amazing" waitress couldn't even run) I would have been irate had I actually had to pay $65 for this crap. Not to mention our meals were pushed to the center of the table mostly uneaten, and our "waitress" never asked how everything was. I was entertaining talking to the manager, but when he came out to run my gift card he was maybe 19. Clearly this location has a top down problem. I have not eaten at Outback in years. Used to love the salmon, salad and baked potato. I ordered a filet. It looked very strange for a filet, like their sirloin. When I remarked about it, the waitress said she thought so too, but the cook assured her it was a filet. I was not too sure of this cut of meat, so they brought me another. By then I had eaten my warm potato and most of my salad. The replacement was brought out nice and hot, the cook came out to be sure it was alright. Tasted like drowned in tenderizer, extremely salty and still questionable piece of meat. They have lowered the quality of their food. My steak was about $22.00. For that price I expect a very good steak. I shall not go to their new location and waste my money. Left overs too salty to give my dog.
