    Cheesecakes

Had a gift card so we had to go check out Outback after a long hiatus. We went on a Friday at about 5pm so we beat the dinner rush. Space was clean and had low lighting and lots of servers/workers We tried their specials that went from $18, $20,$25. I had a sirloin 4oz steak medium rare with a Caesar salad and baked potatoe and cheesecake as my desert ($20 range) Hubby had the bloomin onion chicken and salad and sweet potatoe and cheesecake ($25 range) I liked my steak and my baked potato! The salad was just ok and the cheesecake was pretty bad in my opinion, I didn't finish it, tasted like it was store bought and a few days old. Hubbys chicken was super thin like a chicken fried steak, I was surprised for the price. Overall it was fine! We'd be back when we want a cheap steak or had a gift card

I hadn't been here in a long time, so when I was gifted a gift card I was excited to revisit. We ended up going during late lunch / early dinner time. Unfortunately the staff was having issues with the antenna (which so conveniently happened to fail during the last game of the NBA finals) so that was a total bummer. I remember in the past the restaurant and staff used to be more lively and high energy but both were lacking. The restaurant vibe was quiet and somber, almost depressing. While our waiter was polite, he also lacked any bit of enthusiasm. I started with an order of the kookaburra wings and one of their signature cocktails, a smoked watermelon paloma. The wings were tasty and of good quality and size, but a bit too salty. The drink was also good, but with the bartender being a little heavy handed with the ice you don't get much for your buck. Unfortunately my meal was an even bigger disappointment. For starters you can tell that very little effort was put into at least making the dish look aesthetically pleasing, that or it was done hastily. I don't know whose idea it was to serve these long broccoli stalks instead of traditional florets or when they made this adjustment, but I don't like it. Nobody wants to eat these long stalks, especially when they're not even soft or steamed through. They might as well have served them raw because they were way too firm and impossible to bite through, instead they just split and splintered. For being fresh, the steak was only warm at best. This might be one of the lousiest steaks I've ever eaten. The meat wasn't lean at all with a lot of fat and grizzle throughout. Even the parts that were edible still lacked tenderness and flavor, just awful. Congratulations Outback, you can successfully bake a potato. Honestly, if I hadn't gotten a gift card here I wouldn't have came back. I remember this place used to be so good back in the day. Sadly the only thing that remains the same is the bread...

Loved their chicken Caesar salad and pasta! Also enjoyed their new lemonade drink! Glad I have finally made a trip to this place :)

You really can not go wrong at Outback Steakhouse. This is a restaurant that knows what it is and does an excellent job. Service is top-notch. Our server, Jocelyn, came by for our order. Someone brought out our drinks right away. I kinda like that all the is on the service. Yes, Jocelyn was in charge of the ordering, bill, and the main stuff, but someone else brought the entrees around, another person bussed. This is a great system. The booth was comfortable. While there was a good crowd, it was not noisy. My wife loved her wedge salad. The potato soup was excellent with bacon added to give it extra flavor. The Alice Station chicken cooked perfectly. The sauce was flavorful without being too much. And, they did an equally good job on the French Fries. If you're looking for some hearty food, served well, Outback Steakhouse is definitely a place to go.

We decided to revisit a classic after many years for my birthday lunch. 10/10! Our waiter, Juan, really took care of us. The staff all seemed great. The restaurant is clean and comfortable. The food was superb. Best mozzarella sticks I've ever had! Steak was tender and delicious. Forgot to take photos of our mains due to deliciousness. Couldn't have asked for a better lunch! We'll be BACK!

Oops. Supposed to be a large Blooming Onion. The server brought us another so thank you.

What could have been. I do not hand out five stars and if there was just two details that were not missed it would've been for sure a five star experience. Instead it's 4 stars but really 3 and a half. First, no wait as we called and reserved 30 minutes ahead of time. Five stars. Server was great. Deadpan humor and quick responses. Five stars. Wish I could remember his name. Appetizer was the large Blooming Onion. We received the small. Three and a half stars. The server did bring us another fresh order to make it up. Main course. Now when I saw the picture and description of the Melbourne Porterhouse I knew that's what I wanted for my birthday steak. What I received was nothing like the picture. Missing half my medallion? Melbourne Porterhouse is supposed to be the strip and filet. My filet looks like it was filleted by a dingo. See pic. It was delicious. Like ridiculous delicious but presentation means a lot and it looked like a blind butcher cut it. Three stars. My wife ordered the coconut shrimp. Five stars. Food was delicious but the baked potato needed a little more cook time to soften it up.

Have not been to outback in awhile and was craving it so the wife and I decided to stop off and grab a late lunch. We both got the sirloin steak with baked potato and salad. I love their tangy tomato dressing and was one of the main reasons I wanted to come here. Food was fantastic as always. Steak was cooked perfectly and seasoned well. Service was great and our server was friendly. Place was clean and cozy and will definitely come back.

We came to celebrate my birthday for dinner. We had a great time. Dinner was perfection! Our waiter Marcos was on top of everything. We do not have to wait long for our order for refills for anything. There was hardly anything we had to ask for because he took care of everything Definitely will be back again and restaurants need more waiters like that.

Everything was delicious! Steak was cooked perfectly, potato and broccoli were so good! The porterhouse was amazing! The Mac n cheese was also so so good! Our waiter, Juan, was great! Brought us refills after we had only had a few sips of our drinks. He was kind and attentive! Outback is always a good go-to!

My 1st time coming here there was a waiting time of 15m not to bad . We got the 4 course steak meal for 2 . We started with the appetizer the famous blooming onion it was really good honestly & we also added the cheese fries it was a really huge portion that we had to bring the rest home they were also very delicious. Then We got our salads my husband got the Cesar salad he loved it I got the house salad it was also very good & fresh . Then we got out main course we got the 9oz sirloin I got smashed potatoes & added a the Mac on the side omg so good the Mac honestly was a lil cold but I didn't wanna complain because they were busy . The mash potatoes thoe omg those were burning hot so good my stake had good flavor but also I ask for medium well & I got well done but I didn't wanna say nothing because they were busy & I know what's to be in a hot kitchen & trying to move quickly so I just didn't wanna be a burden this time . because next time ama have to send it back ... & our meal came with a dessert & we got a fudge cheesecake omg that thing tasted like a pillow so fluffy never had a cheesecake that was that fluffy it literally melts in ur mouth. but above all everything was honestly so delicious we will be back & service was amazing

Last year I made a large reservation for about 10 ladies to celebrate someone and on the way to the restaurant they called to confirm the reservation (about 30 minutes before), but I did not hear my phone. When I arrived, a distraught friend told me that they did not have our reservation so I asked what the issue was. The manager told me because I did not confirm, they were not sure they were going to hold the table. I apologized that I had not recieved a call, but asked if we could still have the table (I was there on time and could see the large table with the reservation note on it). The manager begrungenly said they would allow us to still dine with them, but they said they would not seat us until more of our party arrived. I asked if we could wait for our party at the bar, but they said they would not because every seat at the bar was taken. So just a heads up, you cannot stand at the bar, you cannot stand around the restaurant, and they do not have a place to sit and wait for your table, you just have to stand outside (I'm sure it has to do with safety or firecodes, I didn't argue, we waited outside until people at the bar left). Once we were seated, the staff was not friendly. Wondering if we should leave or not, I called a friend who works near the building who frequents this place often on what I should do. He told me to go back inside and that the staff would be nice. When I returned, a new server came to our table with a tray of shots and said they would be taking care of us for the rest of the evening. I figured maybe the manager and that other server was just having a bad day, my friend must have called the restaurant and asked his most trusted server to help us, and enjoyed the rest of our evening. I didn't want to risk it another bad experience, so I haven't returned since. A few months ago during the whole Cesar Chavez news broke out, that friend who frequented the place went with another friend to the Botonist and was talking about the news while they were dining. The manager overheard. Later when my friends were getting ready to leave, the manager started becoming upset with my friends and told my guy friend, "I HOPE SOMEBODY R*PES YOU". Stunned, he asked her to repeat herself and she did. My friends left. The chefs and building are wonderful, but obviously something needs to be done about the management and staff with being professional and treating customers with respect. I've worked in the service industry and understand how stressful it can be, but I have always been able to keep my cool around people who are trying to enjoy a nice meal. Hoping they recieve the help they need as I love to see my community thrive.

There was no host stand, no greeting, and no indication of what we were supposed to do. I eventually asked the bartender about our reservation. He seemed mildly annoyed that I had interrupted whatever invisible task he was doing and told us we'd have to wait for the host. So we waited. And waited. Once seated, we ordered drinks and were served warm bread with butter knives. The problem? There was no butter. Instead, there were candles heating cups of drawn garlic butter that nobody explained. The waiter described it as a powerhouse flavor. Imagine garlic butter LaCroix. Technically present, but only as a rumor. The pacing of service was glacial. Not relaxed. Not upscale. Just slow. The entire evening felt like a social experiment where everyone involved was pretending to operate a fine dining restaurant while waiting to see if customers would notice. We ordered the stuffed mushrooms, which were apparently a house favorite. I sincerely hope that's no longer true. The filling was confusing enough, but someone decided to glaze them with a sweet sauce that made the entire dish taste like a dare. We took a few bites and surrendered. Then came the steaks. My fiancée ordered the filet medium rare. It arrived with the texture of warm oatmeal and was drowning beneath balsamic reduction and Gorgonzola. The steak itself was so soft and underdone it resembled a pink marshmallow more than beef. My strip steak arrived covered in gravy. Not a sauce. Gravy. To complete the experience, we both ordered baked potatoes. Because surely nobody can mess up a baked potato. We were informed that bacon and sour cream would cost an additional $2. Nothing says "premium steakhouse" quite like nickel-and-diming toppings for a baked potato. By the end of the meal, we were struggling to identify a single redeeming part of the experience. The service was slow. The food was baffling. The atmosphere felt like everyone--staff and customers alike--was participating in the same awkward experiment. Horse in the Alley desperately wants to be a fine dining destination. Unfortunately, wanting and being are two very different things. ***Our server Samantha was very sweet and even comped the stuffed mushrooms. But this was easily the worst $200 I've ever spent.

My lady was definitely hangry, and I think he sensed it because he ensured we didn't have to wait to start eating. Jacob, thank you--I appreciated that more than you probably realized.. THE GRUB: Our first appetizer was the Rattlesnake Bites. They're fried balls filled with cheese and jalapeños. Flavor-wise, they were very tasty, but the texture just wasn't for me. I'd give them 2 out of 5 stars. The best way I can describe them is a ball of crispy crust filled with very soft, almost soupy cheese. Again, the flavor was great--I just expected a different texture. For our Mains my wife ordered the catfish with a loaded baked potato and a side salad. She loved it. She said the catfish was thick, meaty, and seasoned perfectly. The baked potato was cooked just right and topped with ,sour cream, bacon and cheddar, the salad was fresh, and she even commented on how the ranch dressing tasted homemade. Easy 5 out of 5 stars for the catfish plate. I ordered the full rack of ribs with loaded mashed potatoes, and we also got the loaded macaroni and cheese. Apparently, Texas Roadhouse really loves bacon and cheese... and so do I, so we were a perfect match! Everything was flavorful, comforting, and exactly what I was hoping for. 5/5 stars Our server, Daniel, was fantastic. He offered great suggestions, kept my drink filled without me ever having to ask, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. He played a big part in making our first California visit a great one. I also want to recognize Danette, who I believe was the general manager--or at least she carried herself like the person who keeps everything running. She was warm, funny, and genuinely cared about our experience. When she learned we weren't crazy about the Rattlesnake Bites, she immediately removed them from our bill and even gave us a complimentary appetizer for our next visit. That level of customer service says a lot about how they value their guests, and how she wanted our experience to be just right. Finally, a shout-out to Siera the bartender. She was incredibly sweet, and we really enjoyed chatting with her. Honestly, we almost wished we'd sat at the bar, she had been by her lonesome the hour and ten minutes we were there. As we were leaving, she reminded us that we could take some of those delicious rolls home. Since we had ordered a meal for our youngest--who isn't a fan of ribs or catfish--we were excited for her to try the rolls too. It was such a thoughtful ending to an already wonderful interaction. Texas Roadhouse atmosphere and food absolutely delivered. Great food, outstanding service, and a team that genuinely cares about its guests. This California location definitely lived up to the reputation I'd come to expect from Texas Roadhouse right here in Cali.. Texas Roadhouse for the win--5 out of 5 stars!

One is a side dish and one is a appetizer, but I ordered both of them as my main meal. I started my meal with their signature drink of the month, a Bonnie and Clyde. I got the Clyde, an absolutely adored the egg white foam on top. The blueberry whiskey was a new for me and it had just the right thing and taste. Our waiter was right on time all the time the service was impeccable. As a matter of fact, the hostess took an order for the children so they wouldn't have to wait a long time. I just love the kitchyness this place! It makes you feel relaxed and soothing, and there's so much to look at, but it keeps your mind occupied. We find the price is quite reasonable. Not inexpensive, but not horribly expensive.

At the last minute, I actually had to move my reservation by 30min, so I called the restaurant and they were very accommodating, which I appreciated. Being a Bakersfield native I definitely wanted to check this place out being that I had visited Chase Bank prior to the vault taking over. I was absolutely amazed by the decorating on the interior. They literally left no stone unturned. Every single corner of the restaurant is beautifully decorated. I do love the whole vault theme. It definitely just feels like you're stepping back in time. The food was fantastic. On a Friday and Saturday night, they offer a prime rib special. The plate itself ran about $52. But it was well worth it. The prime rib absolutely melted in your mouth. It was paired with a beautifully baked potato. It was also served with a side of horseradish sauce as well as Au'ju, We also tried out the brussels sprouts appetizer. They were absolutely amazing. Flavor was spot on. And I would definitely recommend it if you're just wanting to try something a little bit different. Our meal also came with a soup or salad. My wife opted for the Caesar salad, with house made croutons which she said was great tasting. I opted for the soup of the day, which was an Italian wedding soup. Again great tasting everything tasted fresh and was piping hot.
