We had a great experience at Outback Steakhouse overall. Our server, Marco, was very attentive and on top of everything the entire time. He was friendly, professional, and made sure we were taken care of. He also brought out bread with butter right away, which was a great start. Anthony brought out our plates and honestly added so much to the experience. He was super funny, personable, and joking around with us. He had great energy and made us feel really welcome. The environment itself is really nice, but it is pretty dark inside. Once you're seated, if you're short like I am, the lighting can be a little awkward. The light sits kind of right in your face unless you lean back. I wish it were just a bit brighter overall, but not harsh or right up close. As for the food, it was amazing. I ordered the Aussie meal that comes with soup or salad and I chose the soup. The chicken tortilla soup was incredible. It came out super hot and was absolutely delicious. I also had the 9 oz sirloin with mashed potatoes, and it was honestly to die for. It was cooked perfectly and so flavorful. For dessert, I got the raspberry cheesecake and it was super good as well. When I signed up for rewards, we also got a free blooming onion and it was super, super good. The sauce it came with was delicious. My fiancé ordered the fried chicken sandwich and loved it. The fries were really good too. I wish I would have taken pictures, but we were starving and inhaled our food as soon as it came out. Overall, great food, great service, and a fun experience. Had a gift card so we had to go check out Outback after a long hiatus. We went on a Friday at about 5pm so we beat the dinner rush. Space was clean and had low lighting and lots of servers/workers We tried their specials that went from $18, $20,$25. I had a sirloin 4oz steak medium rare with a Caesar salad and baked potatoe and cheesecake as my desert ($20 range) Hubby had the bloomin onion chicken and salad and sweet potatoe and cheesecake ($25 range) I liked my steak and my baked potato! The salad was just ok and the cheesecake was pretty bad in my opinion, I didn't finish it, tasted like it was store bought and a few days old. You really can not go wrong at Outback Steakhouse. This is a restaurant that knows what it is and does an excellent job. Service is top-notch. Our server, Jocelyn, came by for our order. Someone brought out our drinks right away. I kinda like that all the is on the service. Yes, Jocelyn was in charge of the ordering, bill, and the main stuff, but someone else brought the entrees around, another person bussed. This is a great system. The booth was comfortable. While there was a good crowd, it was not noisy. My wife loved her wedge salad. The potato soup was excellent with bacon added to give it extra flavor. The Alice Station chicken cooked perfectly. What could have been. I do not hand out five stars and if there was just two details that were not missed it would've been for sure a five star experience. Instead it's 4 stars but really 3 and a half. First, no wait as we called and reserved 30 minutes ahead of time. Five stars. Server was great. Deadpan humor and quick responses. Five stars. Now when I saw the picture and description of the Melbourne Porterhouse I knew that's what I wanted for my birthday steak. What I received was nothing like the picture. Missing half my medallion? Got off work a little bit later than I expected on a Friday night, but the wifey was set on going to Outback. I assumed the worst (having to wait a while for a table) but it was actually the opposite. Not only was there no wait time at all, but the whole place seemed eerily quiet for a Friday night. While there were tv's throughout the restaurant playing various sporting events and other guests in the restaurant, the place was anything but lively. Music was very low, no background chatter/laughing etc., even the bar crowd looked as if it was last call. I'm not saying there was anything wrong with the overall vibe, but it just felt less like the family restaurant/sports bar crowd as I remember from the past and more like an upscale fancy restaurant. The server was friendly but if he was aiming to mirror his energy to the overall ambiance of the restaurant, he was spot on. As slow as business was, service was unfortunately equally as slow. Drinks stayed empty and instead of waiting for our waiter to show up to ask for more, we just did without. The food, however was equally as delicious as we've had in the past. When we got there, she was wearing a birthday stash and our waitress and the man who brought our food asked if it was her birthday. I stopped going because they took my favorite dishes off the menu. Today I picked the Alice Springs Chicken. The taste of the juicy chicken paired with bacon and cheese with a touch of maple is truly delicious. My husband wanted to pig out on a blooming onion and a steak and he ate all of it. The salads at Outback are always first class and fresh and crispy with lots of goodies in them. We are happy with Outback's food and service and if you haven't been for a while go visit them again. I ordered the sirloin with coconut shrimp, Mac and cheese, and fries. It was a great combo deal. The sirloin was mediocre. I've had better elsewhere. The mac and cheese wasn't anything special. It was just okay. I ordered "Joey meals?" (Kids meals) for my two little ones. My daughter loves pickles so I requested for extra pickles in her burger. FYI: THEIR PICKLES ARE STILL HARD GREEN CUCUMBERS WITH SOME VINEGAR AND SPICE. The waitress said they make their own pickles and that's how they come out. Not impressed. Neither me or my husband cared for it either. It was gross. The side salad that came with the salmon meal had thick sliced and partially sliced onions in them. It was ridiculous and unimpressive.
