Entered and got sat right away, it was only 3:45 p.m. The server Melvin came to the table promptly and took my order. He sat down in the booth across from me.. odd... I did not see any other servers doing that. A runner shortly brought out my bread and another runner brought out my drink. No coasters on the table and no beverage napkins. I asked for a napkin to my server Melvin and he asked "you want paper napkins". I said yes because the beverage had dripped water all over the table. 2 minutes later I got up and got my own coaster off an empty table. There were coasters on every table e except his section. About 10 minutes later a manager came by and I asked him for a napkin because the table was wet. He went and got it right away. I didn't see the server Melvin until it was time for the check. The steak was a bit overcooked (ordered it medium but it was medium well) and the only distinct taste was Pepper. I got the bourbon bacon topper on the steak. Couldn't taste over the black pepper. Shrimp was great, loaded baked potatoe great and the cheddar broccoli was good. I had to ask the manager for refills. Melvin did come by 3 times after he dropped off the check while I wrote this. Apart from the ok-priced food, I left Outback extremely angry. We came on a Wednesday night around 9pm. There were maybe 5 tables occupied. Our waiter greeted us and took our order normally and we were pretty satisfied at this point. My side salad came first, maybe 10-15 minutes after ordered, which is fine, but we see MULTIPLE tables get their complimentary bread and butter, which we didn't have. That's ok, our waiter saw that we didn't have bread, by then I had already finished my first course, and told us he'll be back with the bread. He gets a party of 6 seated in his section and I'm pretty sure us, another table that came before us, and this party were his only tables, being that we had already ordered, eating, or soon to be eating our entrees. He greets the party and finds out his old friend is at the table and he chatters away. This is was the last time we heard from him until we got our checks. He spoke to us maybe a 3 minutes the entire hour we were there. Our first course was brought out by someone else, our entrees, and even our bread, which came AFTER we had finished our entrees already, was brought by someone else. He came after to "clear" the table, in between his chatter time with the party, asked about dessert (which we got to-go since we didn't want to stay any longer) and gave us our checks. Never stopped to ask us if we needed anything else, but he gave all the attention to the party instead, making sure their every need was met just right, while our table, and probably the other table sat waiting for things. When my steak came out, I asked the waitress who brought it out for some steak sauce, and she nodded and acknowledged that she heard me. Instead she decided to ignore it and do her own thing. I had to flag down another waitress to ask for it since my steak was so dry. We basically sat there half the time waiting for someone to acknowledge that our table existed. Keep in mind, if you read my other reviews, I am a very nice person and I seldom complain about things, but this was one of the worst experiences I've had. I could understand if it was busy and they were swamped with tables, trust me, I've worked in the restaurant industry before, so I'm pretty empathetic when it comes to service and restaurant-conduct, but our waiter and the other waitress blatantly ignored us. We will not be coming back to this Outback ever again, or even any Outback. I think we'll stick to Texas Roadhouse, even if it is a little further. Gratuity is based on service and he was lucky to get 10% out of me. Save yourself the trouble and go to an actual steakhouse where waiters don't hate their jobs. We didn't get one smile the entire time we were there. NOT ONE. Or go on a weekend, I'm sure they staff their good people during those times. Horrible experience. Went there o n Sundaye afternoon because I had a gift card. The food was just okay but the service was terrible. We won't be back.

The first time I went to this place, I had an ok experience. Food took a little long, but service was great. Now I went there last night with a group of my girl friends and our waiter was a total creep! When he greeted us he pulled up a seat and started flirting with us. I suppose he thought he was being clever but he really just embarassed himself. The food again was just ok. I tried the crab and steak special and my steak unfortunately was overdone. This location seems earnestly intent on improving its level of service, which, on our last visit a couple of months ago, was to say at best, mediocre. This improvement seems to be new blood at both the managerial and waiter level. We arrived around 6 PM on a Friday evening and the parking lot was not totally full. We were seated immediately and courteously to a booth for two and immediately received the services of a tremendous waiter, Kam, who I learned later has been with the chain for approximately five years. In fact, my speculation is that he is a troubleshooter that the chain uses to deal with problematic locations such as this one in Addison. He knew every salad dressing available by heart and was extremely friendly and helpful during our entire visit, checking back on us at regular intervals. Kam had worked in a number of Outback locations in Oklahoma and Arkansas. We were familiar with the Tulsa location, which, in past years, had been excellent on multiple visits. As should happen in every good restaurant, the manager, Ramon -- who, when asked answered he had only been there eight days--came by to check on our level of service. Good service by both the waiter and the manager are star marks of good restaurants, regardless of the price tag on the food. We started off by ordering the 'bloomin' onions, which, as in the past were fantastic. I asked the waiter whether ordering Foster's in the "oil can" or on draft was a better deal. He came back and said it would save a dollar to order it on draft, which was excellent. My wife ordered the small filet mignon and I ordered the 16-ounce prime rib. Both entrées were cooked exactly as we had requested. I had the French onion soup instead of a salad, which for one dollar extra was worth the cost. I noticed there were at least two other servers that delivered food to our table besides our waiter. My only nitpick was with the small size of the baked potato that came as a side, although it was excellently prepared. And after 16 ounces of prime rib, I was not still hungry. Everyone in the restaurant was extremely responsive; I truly believe that this location is trying to step up its game from its prior mediocre record. Only time will tell, but I will tell you, based upon this visit, we will return soon. Based upon both its level of service balanced by its pricing, I have no reservations about giving this location five stars based upon our most current visit. read more

Went to lunch at Outback in an attempt to stay on my diet for the New Year. I ordered the 5 oz Chicken on the Barbie, requested no bar-b-que sauce/the under 500 calorie plate. My coworkers also ordered the chicken as well, but did not specify under 500 calories. The plates came to the table & my chicken breast was double the size of the other orders. I was charged $11.49 for the large chicken just because I asked for the under 500 calorie plate. Didnt make much sense to me...our waiter even stated that all plates at our table were under 500 calories, but since I requested mine to be under 500 calories, it was priced at the higher end on the menu. The waiter did not offer to change the price to the 5 oz size that I ordered. Had I not been short on time, I would've asked to speak with the mananger. The menu does not specify that the under 500 calorie plates are higher. Just a tip for anyone ordering a plate under 500 calories at Outback, you will be charged the higher price, even though the menu does not specifiy this information, nor did our waiter provide the information when I ordered. read more

Steak with unlimited shrimp for $14.99...not bad!! My girl had the special and tried all 3 shrimp dishes they offered with the special (shrimp scampi, fried shrimp & buffalo shrimp). The steak was cooked just how she liked it....the fried shrimp she said was the best....the buffalo shrimp she said was ok & the shrimp scampi she said was too fishy....ugh!!! I opted for the bloomin onion appetizer and called it a day!! Outback used to be a fave spot of mine but I'm not a beef eater & although they do have options other than beef...nothing really just jumps out at me!! So the hubby and I are finally done for the day at 8pm and decided to go to Outback in Addison since it was close and we were starving. So we walk in get seated and wait and wait and WAIT! At this point the hubby is looking around and 2 TWO different waitresses looked and said they'd be right back 8 minutes later still nothing! So as the hubby is getting up to go find someone the manager is walking by he gets his attention and the mangers says he'll take care of it. At this point even is the bus lady is looking for someone to tend to us, and she walks up to the manager (which we can see and hear)and he tells her to get back to bussing tables and that we'd only been there 5 minutes that we could wait! My husband jumped up asked her what he had said and she repeated what we heard and the hubby said let's go! The manager didn't even try to stop us to make it right he was like bye good night! The hubby cussed him and he cussed the hubby back! What an unprofessional way to conduct busy. I'm so so upset that they acted this way! I guess no more Outback for us! read more

Be careful going in a large party. Our group of 7 was crammed into a booth/table for 6 when the restaurant had ample seating. We were assured over and over that our party with 4 out of six members over 6 feet tall that they couldn't move us and we would be just fine. They offered no other options. Never been to a place with a more friendly and fun staff. I have eaten at several Outback's and the food is good- but here the servers and staff make it fun. And the food is great- and consistent. I would recommend absolutely. read more

THANK YOU OUTBACK STEAKHOUSE!!!!! If you've ever had "one of those weeks," then you know exactly what I'm talking about: I have had to deal with more idiots this week than any one person should ever have to! Added to the usual stress of accomplishing what I need/want to, multiple people have "dumped" things on me that I was not expecting. Annnnnd then to top it off, I get sick!! (And yes, it was difficult to get all that out without the use of profanity haha). The last thing I wanted to do was go pick up food or go to the grocery store. I decided to have something delivered. I have passed by the Addison Outback literally every day for the past 2 years and have never been in or ordered. A steak just sounded good... And OMG where do I start??? When I went to choose the size steak, I opted for the 8oz as opposed to the 6oz because I did not want to be disappointed with a sad little steak- All I have to say is this was the largest 8oz steak I have ever seen. The 6oz would have been plenty- So total bonus that I have 1/3 of my steak sliced and in the refrigerator ready to put on the incredible complimentary bread they included for lunch tomorrow! Ok, the way the food was packaged- I have never seen any to-go/delivery put together with such care and attention. I ordered the brownie dessert- they use great plastic containers and inside of that the chocolate syrup and whip cream were each in their own little container. Same with the sautéed mushrooms and loaded mashed potatoes w/ toppings (butter, sour cream, bacon) packaged separately! I thought to myself this would be fantastic if you ever need to bring somebody dinner in the hospital or even on a long bumpy drive lol. My steak was cooked to perfection! Everything was beyond amazing!!!! Thinking of it, I didn't spend much more than I would have getting fast food. The gentleman who delivered my dinner, truly made this experience go from excellent to exceptional!!! I wish I knew his name to mention it- and thank him again. He was polite, friendly and professional (he was even dressed professionally). I adopted a new dog that I needed to pick up to keep him from running out the door- he made a joke about offering to hold my dog while I signed....It was nice to laugh. Outback should have him teach customer service classes to all employees! I realize I am excessively gushing about a simple dinner- That's why I am writing this... It even amazed me that a meal could change my entire outlook!! I am thinking my having had such a horrible, negative week, then to have a person show up at my door and be kind to me and hand me incredible comfort food was just what I needed!!! We are frequent Outback diners and ordinarily love it. Tonight we used Door Dash for delivery. Our steak was too tough to eat. I called Outback & spoke to the manager, Matt Lewis, who couldn't have been lovelier. First he profusely apologized. He was so helpful and told me to contact Door Dash. We didn't feel as though he was "passing the buck" and understood that he was truly trying to help us. We will continue to be loyal customers in large part because of the way he handled it. Outback is a relic of old Americana that makes me nostalgic for my childhood and the old Crocodile Dundee movies : ) It's funny because the 80s style wood paneling all contributes to the trip down memory lane as well. In my experience with lunch at this location, the food is consistently good and the servers are friendly, but food service is slow. If this restaurant wasn't located within a mile of my work, I wouldn't visit. It would just take too long for an average lunch break. On my last visit, I noticed a lot of dust bunnies clinging to the drop-lighting and ceiling. Not too appetizing. They also allow smoking at the bar. Our party sat in non-smoking, but there was a strong smoke odor in the non-smoking section. A thorough cleaning (above the tables) and removal of smoking would greatly improve the experience for this establishment. read more

Spent 14.99 plus tax for two bites of rubbery lobster and a steak, not much larger than an egg. I ordered the steak medium rare and it came out raw, completely red, and room temperature in the middle. I had to wait 10 minutes just to find the waiter to address the problem. After sending it back, a different waiter brought it back, hardly cooked anymore than before, and blames the initial mess up on the lighting over the table. They need to invest in a meat thermometer if they are just going to guess when a steak is ready. No comp offered. I just gave up, paid, and left. Stick to the bloomin' onion or cook a steak yourself at home. You couldn't possibly do worse and you'd be 8 to 10 dollars richer. read more

Have not come to this Outback before, the service was so slow and the food was not good. My daughter ordered medium well steak and was given very well done. Chicken was dry and fries not hot. Spent $25 on an inedible meal and an additional $25 on an OK meal. i used to get the filet and it was delicious. Not so much this time. Stringy and tough throughout. My husbands ribs were pretty good, but when you have steakhouse in your name then you should have a pretty good steak when you offer a filet. This filet was not overcooked but just poor quality.
