SO disappointed, after reading all the great reviews. The food was okay at best-a step below your average diner. I would say our waitress was rude, but we had about 7 different people "serve" us -it seemed as though none of the wait staff were communicating with each other and out of the 7 waitresses that waited on us only 1 was nice and personable. Our Place is a nice diner to get breakfast at. It isn't anything fancy and I like it a lot for that reason. There are many locals who seem to frequent here and it is easy to see why. Their breakfast menu is hearty with all the morning home-cooked favorites. Their coffee is indeed twenty-five cents and the rest of the menu is reasonably priced. We were seated in a room off the main dining area which was pretty tight. When an older gentleman and his wife were almost seated there he, in a straightforwardness I've rarely seen, said "I'm not sitting back there; if I wanted to sit in the corner, I would've stayed at home." Sitting in that back room was one of the only complaints I had. Our Place staff got points though because without prompting they asked us if we would like to move to another table. Their food was solid and hearty. I got the huevos rancheros which was green chiliw smothered on a thick piece of ham, two warm tortillas, hash browns and two perfect (and I really do mean perfect) easy over eggs. My husband got two pancakes, two perfect (and again, I really mean perfect) sunnyside-up eggs, and sausage patties. He loved how well the eggs were cooked and he said the sausage was good but he said he wouldn't get the pancakes again. They have two options of syrup at the table, maple and blueberry. The maple, in both our opinions, was much better. The pancakes weren't bad but he said that he would've liked if they had been a little more crispy. One other important thing to note here at Our Place is that they don't accept plastic so make sure you bring cash. It was a lovely place to stop in and have breakfast with the locals and I would definitely recommend it if your Yellowstone / Wild West adventures bring you to Cody, Wyoming! read more

I've been there a few years back. Great food but terrible service for being seated. The cashier was a little rude while we stood there waiting in a cramped area and I saw 3 tables open. She ignored us as she charged people out. I saw 2 servers and they didn't seem to care either so we left and went to the Wild Horse Cafe and received great service and an amazing Apple grilled cheese sandwich, which I hear it's a southern thing. I was expecting more based on the reviews here. Everyone was friendly and I liked the atmosphere here a lot. We ate breakfast and everything tasted alright. My western omelette was good, nothing special. Can't ask too much for $6 though! My dad ordered biscuits and gravy and he enjoyed them. One odd thing, I ordered orange juice and it was the funniest tasting orange juice I've ever had. For some reason, that sort of tainted the taste of everything else I ate. Great for Breakfast. I like to go here for breakfast. One of the only places in town that knows how to properly crisp my hash browns. The serving sizes are good, and the prices are reasonable. They only take cash, which is a little hard, so be prepared. Every time I go there they are busy, but I hardly ever really have a wait. Wonderful stop for breakfast in Cody on your way into Yellowstone! Yes, there's a wait and the waiting area is tiny, but it's worth it! The food is cooked right, portions are big, service is friendly and the prices are a steal! The only downside is they only take cash, but really, almost every major bank ATM is in Cody. My son and I were traveling together to Yellowstone, and we had the pleasure of hanging out with Jim, the owner, and had a great time in a hometown cafe. There's going to be a line, so sign in on a little note pad when you arrive. Make sure you take a gander at the 'Gee Haw Whammy Doodle" sticks, or otherwise referred to as a "Hooey Stick". It was one of the worst experiences of our vacation! There was a wait, and we used that opportunity to go get cash (only cash accepted). We were seated and ignored for awhile, as the woman that seated us seemed very put out about us being there! Our waitress was attentive for a brief amount of time. My husband finally got his toast with the check, and he had to go get his own water refilled at the counter. The food was ok. There was a couple that was seated next to us that left before they ordered, as we overheard them complaining about being ignored by the waitress. This was an awesome little place to stop. When they say home cookin and 25 cent coffee, they're not kidding. It's feel good food. The omelettes were okay, they weren't bad. We got the ham and cheese, cheese, western. Also, the cow hand which was 2 eggs, meat, hashbrowns, and toast. The hash browns were super good, crispy on top but then soft in the middle. The rye toast was yummy, it was toasted to perfection and the butter was melted and creamy. We substituted 1/2 biscuits and gravy for $1 and it was so good. Definetley get biscuits, they're some of the best I've ever had. The service was alright but it wasn't bad. The coffee was alright but it was only 25 cents, and they didn't bring refills. We took a family vacation to Yellowstone in July and this is the only restaurant stood out from the rest. It's pretty small and most of the customers are locals. If you are coming from Yellowstone, this is probably the first restaurant you will see at Cody. We stop by because it was recommended by the locals. The food is very much a tasty home cooked meal. We ordered the fish sandwich and burger and they were good with the crispy fries. Can't beat the $0.25 coffee either... Oh, it's cash only. read more

Came in for late breakfast. Stood at the counter for at least 5 minutes with two other couples we didn't know as 4 different staff walked past us numerous times without even a hello, eye contact or a be right with you and they really didn't look that busy. One sitting at a table at the door wrapping utensils never once looked up at 6 customers standing within 4 feet of her. Two empty tables set and ready visible from where we were. Finally a waitress comes up and says to the couple in front of us "are you on the list?" Not even a hello. Then a customer walks out from the back and asks "did you forget us? You did didn't you?" That did it right there for us and we left. Sure tourist season and all but if you are that burned out on people take a day off or find a different job. The food is good but be careful. We ordered 2 plates with my wife for $8.50 each for a total of $17 and they charged us $25. When we asked why they told us it was for the coffee and the tax. The coffee was only $0.25 and the Wyoming state sales tax rate is only 4%. Do NOT trust these people and make sure they don't overcharge you. read more

Was on a family road trip and we stopped here because they were busy so we thought we would get great food. While the food was decent (minus the sausage gravy which was bland) I found a hair in my eggs. Literally under my egg. I showed the waitress. She was very kind and offered me another egg. I said no thank you as I was grossed out. When we went to pay my dish was on the bill. I said something to the owner that there was a hair in my eggs and he leaned over the counter with a very stern almost crazy look and repeated my bill total. He gave me a look I will never forget and took me some time to get over. Almost like a bad movie. So eat here and hope you don't have something wrong with your food because you will be forced to pay for it either way. read more
