In the area for the weekend. We were seated quickly. We decided to split the fish & chips & the Cobb Salad. Both items were delicious! The salad was fresh & filled with lettuce, spinach, grilled chicken, boiled egg, blue cheese, nuts - very good. The fish was crispy- not greasy & super good. The fries were great & the coleslaw delicious. This is a church that has been converted. The stained glass was coo. The seating was very comfortable. We would definitely go back!

It was a nice sunny day and I was in the neighborhood so I thought I would stop and try this restaurant. I asked to sit outside as the weather was gorgeous. The patio was nice and I was the only person out there to enjoy. I liked the lovely fountain and the server was prompt to get my order. Unfortunately, there was no one there that could mix a cocktail for me that was on their menu. I opted for a glass of wine. I ordered the small Caesar salad and requested a piece of salmon. The salad was just the way I like it with nothing but fresh Romaine, some Parmesan cheese, homemade croutons tossed with just a little bit of dressing so it was perfect. I was rather surprised at the size of the piece of salmon I received for $13. It was maybe a 2 1/2" x 2 1/2" square, not even 1/2" thick. A dinner roll also included with my meal. I will probably return to try one of their breakfast dishes, but they are a bit spendy for breakfast compared to some other nearby places. I looked at their bakery area and saw a lot of nice looking sweet temptations.

I came here to have breakfast when I came to the Oregon Country Fair. It was like coming to an old church. The courtyard is also nice, so it can be used for events. When you enter, it is divided into two floors. The main one is in the spacious chapel, and the other one is in the room down one step, and there is a bakery. Both have tables and chairs, so you can eat there. We ordered French toast, vegetable omelet, and coffee from the menu on the chapel side. It opened at 8 am, but it quickly became full of customers. The service of the staff at the store is very good and the food was good too. We want to visit again.

    BLT on focaccia, half order

Stopped here for lunch. Place is cute inside and there is an outside patios to eat as well, just 5 tables or so. We initially sat inside but the airconditioning was turned up so high, we were freezing and opted to go outside instead. No problem, waitress was very accommodating. I had the BLT on focaccia which was delicious. Bacon nice and crisp and three pieces on my half order. My friend has the Reuben and said it was good. 4 stars instead of 5 because I had to remind the, twice to bring out my drink, for the frigid airco and for the fact that if you want to split an order, you have to pay $3.50 extra. So we each had our own half order, which some things on the menu you could not do. Weird....

Ordering over the phone was easy. We were politely asked if we could hold, and after a brief pause we were able to place our order. I ordered the Philly Cheesesteak sandwich with a side of fries. When we got home all I had to do was put the fries in the Air Fryer for a few minutes and they came out crispy and delicious as if they were freshly cooked. They are a shoestring variety, very lightly salted and not oily. The Philly was a pleasant surprise. My initial reaction on the first bite was 'Wow! That's a REAL Philly!' The roll was sliced, buttered and toasted. It held together perfectly. The skirt steak was sliced thin and cooked well. The onions are caramelized nicely and the bells are a good al dente. The Provolone is melted nicely and rounds out the sandwich flavors. The takeout packaging we received is compostable and recyclable. After all this I had to laugh at myself because I had reviewed their Philly once before. Well, it is still over the top good!

I was thrilled by how crispy and chewy the crust was, the nacho sauce went perfectly with the crust without being overpowering or gummy. There was a bountiful amount of toppings , and I could only eat two slices of the personal pizza as it was very filling. Definitely is on my list of places to stop and try and new combination the next time I'm in Veneta. Great service (although out of iced tea but not their fault) and cute setting, I can imagine it does get lively for dinner and the weekends.

This was a trip to the Sweet Home, Oregon area to hike McDowell Creek Falls. (Highly recommend the falls hike). On our way, we stopped at The Point, just outside of Sweet Home. Not much to look at from the outside and kind of a diner atmosphere inside. Somewhere, I read you had a "view" to the water. As you can see from the picture, it's a view (sort of) to Foster Reservoir. OK. However, the food and service were surprisingly good! I ordered the special of the day, a Chipotle Burger. Cooked perfectly with 1/3 lb local beef patty, bacon, chipotle sauce, lettuce, red onion and accompanied by some very good fries. My wife had the grilled cheese and it was awesome as well. Her only complaint was it had too much bacon. Yes, you heard that right, too much bacon. I also have been trying NA beers and the only brand I have found I like is Deschutes out of Bend. They had a Golden that I hadn't heard of and it was, in true Deschutes fashion, very good. Our server was Becky and she was amazing. She greets the regulars by name, was very helpful and informative, but not too chatty. If we were in this area again, we would definitely go back. Without hesitation. Great find!

With that meal you will experience actual satisfaction and contentment. That's the first thing I have to say in case you're reading for a recommendation of what to order. Even better if you have it late night after experiencing the best Handel's Messiah concert at the Hult in December. I had a small slider of corned beef along with his amazing fresh Kale salad garnish with shaved Parmesan, walnuts, added protein -- sausage. It came with a toasted slice of soda bread that was great. But the slider was how I realized the corned beef was PERFECTLY prepared. A taste was not enough; I decided to get the dinner plate version to take the next day up to Seattle with me. Fantastic staff included Barkeep Illyia, whose birthday it was. She kept up a steady stream of attentive care, skillful service, friendly banter with each of the clients that came in and said good by to them as they left. Hospitality was her middle name. Love that they have mugs for the regulars hanging from the ceilings, the bar space is great but so are the arm chairs and cushioned seats in the corners of the pub. I even ran into two other concertgoers who had also been so energized after the Messiah concert that they didn't want to go home. We spent a half hour at the bar unpacking the highs and best points of the performance by the Eugene Symphony Orchestra, and the symphony choir, and each of the soloists. We also unanimously agreed the tenor was fantastic, the baritone a paragon of artistic talent, the soprano sang incandescently, and that the final AMEN movement was soul healing and mind blowing simultaneously. Yeah. It was that good. This place was the right place to come to unpack it all over a Guinness and the best corned beef and cabbage in town.
