I'm not coming back. The place was dirty The first table our hostess tried to seat us was too dirty, so she had to choose another. Apparently that didn't inspire anyone to wipe the others down. I saw four dirty ones from our table. Then, two groups were seated at these tables that needed to be wiped and swept underneath. The whole floor needed swept and it looked like it hadn't been mopped the night before. I doubt the place was dirty because they were too busy. When we got there it was 6 customers compared to 5 staff. I suspect they either didn't care or were never trained on how to keep a tidy restaurant. None of this helped to spark our appetites The service was good at first, We got our beers fast, and then I told our server we were going to just drink beer and maybe we'd order food later. Again, you'd think that would inspire him to check on our drinks but I finished my beer and waited ten minutes or more without seeing our server. When we did see him, he took the order of the table directly next to us, and left. After that I'd had enough. I went to the bar, told the nice lady we hadn't seen our server in at least 15 minutes and that I wanted to pay our tab. Don't go to this place. We went here pre-movie for a quick bite and left satisfied. Place was empty but it was a weeknight. Staff was friendly enough. My friend had the Margherita pizza and she said it was good, light on the sauce which she wanted. I got the turkey sandwich but don't let the photo fool you! Was it too much bread? Yes. Came in on a Monday right at 11 when they opened. Sat at the bar. Bartender was friendly and accommodating. Wine was cold, but can't say that about the beer. Not warm! But not ice cold. Service was great and I took a slice to go. Coming from New Haven CT, I moved up to Maine last year and trying to find anything resembling New Haven Apizza. Otto came up as something close but it is not. Dough was thin and crispy but had zero chewiness like New Haven. Sauce had very little taste as it was close to nonexistent. The Mootz was ok. We have been Otto fans for many years, so we took advantage of their Saco location which is attached to the Saco Apple IMAX theater. After a late afternoon movie, it was great to step right into Otto. It was pretty busy, but the friendly staff was quick to acknowledge us and get us seated. The decor is really cool - lots of movie memorabilia and stuff from theaters. Perfect for this location. Our server let us know right away that the kitchen was a bit backed up because of pickup orders, just so we would be prepared if our pizza took a while. We got their fresh and crunchy Caesar salad to start and that kept us occupied. The new pesto, cup, and char pepperoni pizza was a real winner! Visiting friends who live in Saco (6/19/2023) decided to order 2 pizzas for dinner. Pizza #1 Large Double Double Chicken, Bacon and Ranch Specialty Pizza, the Ladies had this one (plenty of leftovers). They both said it was very good. Pizza #2 Double Dough Pepperoni, Olives, Mushrooms and Green Peppers. It was tasty, the only problem was they didn't make it a double dough and forgot the the pepperoni (which we paid for). This review is for management as it appeared the staff was doing the best they could with the cards dealt. They were out of fresh tomato, artichokes, olives, spinach and mushroom. This did not leave many options for veggie toppings (and they could have been out of more I stopped and finally said what DO you have ). Bartender was super apologetic though not her fault. Pizza was okay, not as good as usual but I am more concerned at the lack of support for the staff and information given to them as she had to come out three times to say "out of that too". There was a time when Otto only had a couple of locations in Portland and dropped this potato/bacon pizza on the scene when the closest rival was probably Portland Pie. Now, I see them everywhere and there are more options around. That's probably why we drive past this Otto in Saco (attached to the Apple Cinemas/old Cinemagic) 10 times a week and rarely give it a second thought. I also had it my head it would probably be a little janky because of the whole movie theater thing. Turns out it's actually a little oasis inside! We popped in to meet a friend, purely for the Otto experience, not for a movie, but it was very busy as it was right before some showtimes. The servers and bartenders were buzzing around, but there were cocktails, there was a pretty decent draft list (with pretty normal prices, not movie theater prices, if you're curious), and of course there were creative pizzas. We didn't eat but saw plenty of pizzas careening by and they looked fine, about what you'd expect from an Otto's pizza, but here's where I mention this strip of Route 1 is a dead zone for booze and food. You can head to the Dunstan area, or head on into downtown Saco, but both are probably 10 minutes in either direction. TLDR; At least to me, this is an overlooked spot for a beverage and a pizza, and if you're looking for a quick bite and a drink before a movie where you don't want to stress about being late, you really couldn't ask for a better, more convenient option. read more

They say that you have to add toppings in the app and not to the notes, however it's the only place you can add toppings (see picture). It wasn't dense and heavy like some or super thin and cracker-like like some other places, but just perfect. They also offer Violife non-dairy cheese, which is another big plus. I had pepperoni and pineapple pizza and it was perfect! My hubby (who's not gluten free) also loved his pizza and it makes the top of his list! The gluten-free crust is excellent (was not burned at all) and I really like the mashed potato topping, so good! I deducted a star for the reason that there is not a list of pizza toppings anywhere on the menu yet you are given the option to build your own. Much thought about whether or not to rate this as a 2 or a 3. Opted for a 3 because 2 seemed to harsh. Ricotta and Basil...was good. Pepperoni...ate it all so not bad. Ordered the Spicy Pulled Pork. Not what was expected at all. It looked like clumps of Sun Dried tomatoes rather than pulled pork. The "pulled pork" tasted like clumps of red pepper. There was a hint of BBQ only because I was looking for the flavor. This would better be named as a "Spicy Cheese" pizza. If you are looking for pulled pork, do not order this pizza. This is a thin crust pizza. Nothing amazing with the dough. Not bad but lacks in flavor. The "crust" is minimal so if you are a crust lover this may not be the right pizza for you. There was definitely a flop to the pizza. Red sauce is on the sweeter side. There is not a lot of sauce on the pizza for those who like sauce on the lighter side this is the pizza for you. We're pizza-freaks, so of course when we moved here we started scanning the scene for pizza joints. Everyone is talking about Otto. My husband's new coworkers, even my mom (who isn't truly a pizza-lover, per se) was telling me "you've GOT to get to OTTO." So we did, sort of. Man, it's cold as hell here. We ordered delivery. We're just around the corner - I'd say a mile or two at most. We ordered through Yelp, and it was serviced by GrubHub. The GrubHub delivery was the fail here. Took about 80 minutes to arrive, after a call to grub hub, the pizza was cold, and I was hangry - but I'm not going to hold that against OTTO. The pizza was dope. We loved the crust, it was thin but doughy - had an awesome crisp to it, but not the kind that destroys the roof of your mouth like Captain Crunch - it was perfect. The 'ronis were crispy around the edges, it made me wan to steal some from other slices just because they looked so good. I ate two pieces and was sad that I couldn't get more into my body. This will happen again. The caesar salad - thumbs down, man. For $7, I expect more than a personal serving - after all, we're not in Vegas anymore, I shouldn't be paying Vegas prices for a Maine-sized serving. Honestly, it's still in my fridge a week later...cuz if I can't split it with my husband over pizza, what the hell else am I going to do with it?
