Horrible experience tonight for dinner. We had a waitress that was new. She obviously had some issues. We can understand that she's new and there's a learning curve. But we we had a party of four and three meals arrived (one missing an item) we waited 30 minutes for the fourth meal after I had to get up and ask another waitress to help. Everyone else was done with their meal. No apologies and when we asked for the bill another waitress (short blond young girl) threw the check at us. When she was asked if she meant to throw it she said "calm down" We have been going to Pats for years, I cannot believe what happened tonight. Do better. read more

We are a party of 7 that's been going to trivia on Tuesdays for over a year. Now, with no reservations we are done with Pat's. We waited until all 7 of us were here, as directed. There were tables with only a few people, like a party of 12 with only 5 people there. So much for everyone having to be here. We've been sitting down for 19 minutes and haven't seen a waitress yet. I literally love the pizza here! Growing up in Scarborough, I feel like this place is such a family staple and somewhat nostalgic. My family's go-to order is The Works! It has everything you could imagine in it and it's always cooked to perfection. We always get take out, so I haven't experienced the dine-in side. They're prompt to answer the phones and your order is usually done within 25 minutes. They do get pretty busy some nights but the employees are efficient. I've been several times with my partner and enjoyed a number of different items off the menu. We've enjoyed the Tuesday trivia nights especially. Recently though we went with the kids on a Saturday, not realizing there would be live music. It was exceptionally loud and really bothered my daughter's ears. I ordered a Caesar salad and breadsticks with cheese. The salad was $9.99 and was the size of a side salad. I was shocked to pay so much for a handful of lettuce. And the breadsticks were not breadsticks. They were a pizza crust folded over with cheese inside. They were pale white colored and dry. Eating out is a treat in my household so to pay the prices that are charged and to be so disappointed stinks. read more

Just ordered a large order of food that was repeated multiple times, on the phone for pickup. A taco salad extra dressing which was Italian?? For a taco salad. 2 pizzas , a mushroom and lg double dough and cheese , buffalo chicken wrap no blue cheese when especially asked for extra dressing and received none.(not even on the sandwich.). Also, ordered another sandwich. Syrian pocket ham roast beef and pickles. The sandwiches was so dry and my daughter almost choked. (30 yr) Order was even repeated to the person at the cash register as my husband handed them over $80. To get home and have this par food. I will be happy to take my business elsewhere. read more

Lived up here for years but my first time at Pat's. Great staff. Pizza was unique. I'd call it a hybrid between a standard Massachusetts Bar Pie & Greek Pizza. Whatever you call it, it was yummy! Went on Tuesday. It was packed for trivia night. Best Quiz we've ever attended. We think it is the same host company that we attend in NH. The host was amazing! Really great atmosphere for a family pizza restaurant. Excellent salad and decent pizza. The food can be a little inconsistent but that's to be expected with so much volume. It has great trivia nights, great waitstaff, and the woman greeting and seating people is truly special. Just check your plates to make sure they are clean and you will have a good time for a GREAT price. 5 people ate 2 pizzas, salad, and drinks for under $60. Excellent value! read more

Nicely renovated with the absolute cleanest bathrooms I have ever seen. Lol. Went to grab a quick lunch and sat at the bar. Bartender was busy but acknowledged us and took our orders when she got time. The food was freshly prepared, and the bread was delicious. I had the eggplant parm sub, and my wife had a gluten-free pizza. We enjoyed both meals. They have a large variety to choose from on the menu. Good comfort food. You can always count on quality when you go to a Pat's Pizza. Been to the ones in Scarborough, Brunswick and Yarmouth. All were excellent with a local neighborhood feel to them. read more

Stopped in because we wanted pizza and the reviews weren't bad. Boy did this go wrong. Hubby wanted garlic bread but I wanted mozzarella sticks. His turn to pick so garlic bread it was. SKIP IT. We literally got a sub roll cut into 4 pieces that had been dry broiled/toasted. Absolutely no butter or garlic had been used. It was just a plain, crunchy, dry, toasted sub roll (see photo). The pizza was ok but absolutely nothing special. Thin crust, very little taste. Forgot to take photos until we had already eaten a few slices. Best thing about the place was that is was inexpensive. If they had a email I would have done that first without putting it on Yelp. It's been a few months since we have been there. Great atmosphere and really great people working there. I've always enjoyed their pizza but I've noticed a change. Before there was a nice crust and it was delicious and at a great price. Tonight we got what looked like a frozen cheese pizza with toppings put on just before it went in the oven. Unfortunately what used to be our go to pizza place won't be anymore. This place is my go to when I want pizza and quick. I love the pepperoni meatball on double dough. The staff is pretty friendly and they always get my order right. If you don't want to pick up I think they partner with Grubhub but you'll get hit with delivery fees. read more

Went in today after at least 10 years, all I can say is wow! Service was friendly and attentive, food was the best Pat's Pizza I've had (and I've tried them all). We had buffalo chicken pizza (crispy), Italiano calzone and a works pizza. The back bar area has a good vibe with TVs everywhere to watch games. We'll definitely be back. read more

My wife and I ordered sandwiches for our trip to our camp. We have been to Pats many times in other locations and I am pretty sure we dined in once at this Scarborough location. I ordered a Buffalo Chicken wrap and my wife ordered a veggie Italian. My Buffalo Chicken Wrap was just OK. It was full of lettuce and tomato with a generous amount of Blue Cheese dressing. Unfortunately for this wrap, the chicken tough and fatty. My wife's veggie Italian was light on the veggies. I certainly will be back, however I am thinking I'll order Pizza next time. read more

When stopped at Pat's which was recommended by our b+b for pizza . We ordered buffalo chicken and jalapeño poppers for a quick supper and added a two small salads. We ordered a 9 inch which was delivered quickly . Chicken was in good sized chunks of breast meat and the sauce seemed as if it were the Frank's hot sauce. The crust was thin with no thick edge crust which I normally associate with a pizza . Pat's has a 9 , 14 inch pies with also a 6 inch but is packed with the 9 inch size dough amount. Service was quick, salad was fresh and the poppers were served with a coated batter which was filled with melted cheese . You could taste the jalapeño but were not hot spice wise . Pat's does have a happy hour we saved a couple a bucks with an early meal. And this venue had live music on Wednesday. We were pushed for time and couldn't stay . I'd recommend it , we're weren't disappointed. Prices are reasonable. read more

Visiting Maine and a friend who grew up there said I had to go to Pat's. This one was near my hotel, so I got a pizza with pepperoni and meatball to go. And I'm glad my friend sent me here. Our experience at Pat's Pizza was great! We showed up late, had never been there and were very hungry after a day at the beach. The pizza was good, the toppings were generous, the sauce flavorful. The cheese bread, which was awesome. My husband had our leftover pizza for breakfast and remembered how much he likes pat's Pizza's pizza :-) (we used to frequent the South Portland Location). My experience last night was great. Our server was beyond fantastic... it was late, I was afraid that we would be 'welcomed' with a frown (I have plenty of experience in all aspects of restaurant work)... we actually received 10+ service, the whole experience totally hit the spot. read more

Bad food, worse service. Our server screwed up every single order she took. The food she did manage to place on our table was low low low quality. The chicken wings were slimy (and probably microwaved). The eggplant in the eggplant parmigiana wasn't breaded, giving the sandwich and the pasta dish the soggy, wet-brown texture you'd expect from bog mud. I told our server no mushrooms on a calzone two times. She even came back later to confirm no mushrooms. You can guess, from how this lunch is going, that the calzone was stuffed full of mushy canned mushrooms. Oh, a ten year old ordered the barbecue chicken pizza and said there was so much BBQ sauce he felt like he was eating it off a spoon. Seriously, the food here managed to gross out a ten year old. The whole ordeal took an hour and half and our waitress never refilled our drinks even though we were the only people in the place. Pat's isn't fancy, but if the state of Maine decided to pick an official pizza it would have to be Pat's. This local chain has deep Maine roots and some uniquely Maine offerings. Unique? Pat's? Enjoy a thicker crust, try ordering double dough. It transforms the pie into a whole different pizza, and I have never seen it as an option anywhere else. How, about mushrooms? I love all types, but on a pizza can sometimes get dried out. At Pat's they give you the option of fresh or canned. I go for canned every time. I am normally a farm fresh guy, but somehow on a pizza canned mushrooms kick fresh's butt. Pats isn't likely to make any of the national lists of great pizza, but I doubt they care. What they do care about is providing great service and making simple good food that anyone can afford. read more

Pats pizza has seen better days. The quality is blah. The service is slow and they just cant seem to pull themselves out of the early 2000s. I would never go back given all the other competition for great pizza in this area. This pizza might fly in a town in northern Maine, but not here. read more

Tyler gave me excellent customer service when I complained about receiving a regular crust pizza. I had ordered a gluten free crust for delivery, and was sadly disappointed to receive food I could not eat. Pat's is a solid choice for a takeout pizza at home. The crust is on the thin side (which I like) and they are always helpful about tweaks (e.g., I like to add shredded lettuce to the big pat, so they will put it on last so it stays crisp). They have a good dinner salad as well. The food is ready quickly, and the staff are polite. read more

I'm bald. I've made my peace with not having hair on my head. In fact, my wife thinks it looks kinda sexy, which is why I shave the little I have left and go for that chrome dome look. So, if I deliberately go to great lengths to depilate my noggin, odds are, I don't want or need someone else's hair. Toupees and wigs...no thanks. So why would I want HAIR IN MY PIZZA?!!!? Yep, you read that right. There was hair baked into the crust. And not just any hair, mind you...but black hair that was kinda short and kinky. Which I am telling myself is arm hair that came off when they were making the dough. I will say this...when I pointed it out, they refunded me the cost of the pizza. In fact, the pizza was $15.78 and they handed me $16....so I came out twenty two cents ahead. Still don't think I'll come back in this lifetime. read more
