Ventured out to OOB on the first 70 degree spring day in Maine. Most of the strip doesn't open up until May so my "go to" is usually Lisa's Pizza. I noticed Rocco's a few doors down and decided to give them a shot. I've been going to Lisa's for 30+ years but haven't been impressed with my last few visits. Well I'm glad I gave Rocco's a shot because I just found my replacement. The pizza was out quick. The fried dough and chicken tender basket was cooked to order so they took a few minutes but were out in a reasonable amount of time. All the food was great and the counter service was friendly. I snagged side street parking right around the corner so it was free and didn't have that pesky half an hour limit. Do yourself a favor and hit this spot before the tourists start pouring in.

Pizza was amazing. Truly felt like I was back in NYC ordering my daily slice. Crust was perfect, sauce and amount of cheese on point! Kids were nice that took the order.

Debate settled in my opinion. I'm a big pizza lover. Bills has good flavor and the pizza is not too thick, but the crust seems like it comes in frozen and does not taste that great by itself. However, of the 3 pizza joints downtown OOB, Bill's is 2/3. Lisa's is 3/3 (too thick and doesn't taste great) and Rocco's wins #1 hands down! Flavor is solid both sauce and cheese and the pizza has a nice thin fresh tasting crust with nice crunch. And the dough is stretched right in house. Thats my kinda pie!! All places are walk up so no comment on the atmosphere except that the area is really busy. Love OOB!

Pizza pizza pizza. Ok so I tried Bills and Lisas before I had a slice of Rocco's pizza. I'll have to say I love pizza so I liked all three of them but the winner is Rocco's! Thin slice and crispy just like you would expect to eat on the east coast. This would be my go to pizza every time!!

If you're looking for some American-Italian style pizza at Old Orchard, this is the spot. Crust-sauce-cheese ratio was pretty much perfect and even though we got slices, they weren't stale like at some other places at OOB. They were reheated in the oven to the point that they were nice and melty and pretty much indistinguishable from having a slice from a whole fresh pie. I also always appreciate the end crust being fluffy. Will come again!

Love the slices here! Thin and crispy. Just the right amount of sauce an cheese and not that greasy cheese either. If you like pizza and are at oob, stop and get a slice. Friendly staff.

Rocco's is the only pizza worth eating in OOB. Perfectly cooked NY style pizza, we don't know how the other places remain in business unless it's because people don't want to wait in line at Rocco's. To be fair, we went to Bill's and Lisa's and there's no comparison. Rocco's is the gold standard all pizza places should aspire to. My fiancé took a bite before I was able to and I was able to actually hear the crunch of that heavenly crust. I'm salivating just thinking about it. We went to Rocco's three times and got a large on our last night. Service was fast and friendly. This is the only reason I want to go to OOB every year.

We come here every year for a week. If you get pizza from anywhere else at OOB then you are doing it wrong. Period.

Loved the crisp of the crust and pizza was delicious. But I really came here for fried dough which reminded me of childhood fairs!

Very dark, no baileys. They were left on the table because they sucked and were undrinkable. Order an Apple martini and asked the clueless waitress to ask the bartender to swap the measurements in the drink to have more apple puckers and less vodka. Drink was delivered and was clear with minimal puckers. We mentioned it to our waitress and she says.......Oh, let me get you a shot of puckers. And charged us for it. If she listened in the first place, it would have been perfect. If she didn't know what I meant, she should have asked someone on your staff or if she told an experienced bartender what I ordered, it would have been correct on the first try. And to boot, a lime wedge as a garnish, REALLY. As a bartender myself, the fact that these bartenders don't even have a clue about what garnish goes with what drinks is an insult to other professional bartenders. I do understand that maybe they don't get many orders for an Appletini, but they should be hired by their ability to perform their job, not the shape of their ass or the size of their tits. Extremely disappointed and will be sure to not go back again next year when I am in OOB. Well, that's if this place makes it through this season.

The Caprese appetizer was insanely good. The haddock fingers were excellent. The ambiance is what pushes it over the top. You're…read moremet with the lingering scent of beer soaked into the floor from nights that were clearly busier than anyone could properly manage. Now, most people would interpret that as neglect. But that's not quite right. It's evidence. Evidence that this is a place that has been tested, repeatedly, and continues to operate under pressure. And strangely enough, that inspires a certain confidence. You know, almost immediately, the drinks are going to be done properly. I ordered something simple. chicken fingers with buffalo sauce and bleu cheese. Nothing remarkable, and that's precisely the point. They weren't trying to reinvent anything. They were just... competent. And competence, especially in an environment that borders on chaos, is not trivial. It's reliability. It's order, holding its ground. The service reflected that same tension. Reese, the bartender, was clearly under strain. busy to the point where most people would start to fracture, but she didn't. She held the line. And if you've spent enough time in this industry, you know that's not easy to do. There's something almost admirable about watching someone maintain composure when everything around them is loud, demanding, and slightly out of control. And that's really the essence of the place. It's loud... almost aggressively so. Packed. Borderline unruly. At one point, there was a couple engaged in what was clearly a volatile argument... infidelity, perhaps? but the noise swallowed the details. It didn't matter. The specifics were irrelevant. What you were witnessing was raw human behavior, unfiltered, playing out in real time. And oddly enough, it fit perfectly. This is not a place for quiet reflection or carefully structured conversation. It's a place where order and chaos collide and neither one fully wins. But if you're the kind of person who can tolerate that, or even enjoy it... there's something undeniably compelling about it. If you want quiet, look elsewhere. But if you're willing to step into something louder, messier, and far more alive, then this place offers exactly that. It's not refined. It's not restrained. It's something closer to a modern day bacchanal. And for better or worse, that's the point.

My favorite part is that it still feels part of the mill system while having an updated aesthetic. It doesn't feel out of place - it feels right IN place. We had to park at the lot near the mill buildings and water and walk a pretty good distance to get to the restaurant but I guess I could use a few steps. Walked in it was very loud where they wanted to seat us under the canopy where there were some unruly bar patrons so they brought us to a quieter area. We sat for a long while before being greeted by our server. But we still wanted to give it a shot. We ordered poutine with portobello mushrooms and the three tables around us got their full meals before we got our appetizer. Then, she took our main course order and like the app, the food took forever and we are usually very patient. The server was super nice but just was very slow and the fries in the poutine were cold. The main course was a root salad that my wife thought was pretty good with turnips and vinaigrette. I had clam chowder and calamari/shrimp dish ... I paid almost 20 bucks for the calamari and got about 5 pieces and 4 small shrimp and the chowder had no flavor. We then asked for a box to put her salad in and the waitress forgot. Until she realized as she was dropping off the check. I don't think we will be back .. maybe just for the outdoor patio ambiance but, not the food.
