I used to live on diner kebabs when I was stationed in Germany so I couldn't pass up the chance to have one. The pickled onions, red cabbage and homemade sauce are the key ingredients that pulls it all together. A generous serving of rosemary fries comes with the order. The venue is tastefully decorated to give the feel of being in Turkey. The staff are gracious and treats everyone like a first time guest. My only regret was I didn't ask for extra meat as I'm a carnivore and in Germany the meat falls out of the pita/wrap. Overall true a true doner. read more

The BEST baklava in town!!! Seriously, I get a craving for this dessert all the time and go racing to Otto. Sometimes I even get a falafel bowl on the side. They also do a great job with their food trucks on UVA grounds where you can order right in the middle of the ampitheatre and lawn area! This ordering has mostly gone to grubhub though so make sure you are prepared to use the app to order from the food trucks! The in person location has more options. Grabbed a quick lunch at Otto Turkish street food last Tuesday. Got a chicken doner bowl, a falafel bowl, rosemary fries and Efes beer. We chose the same toppings for both bowls - bulgur, beet salad, bean salad, red cabbage, hummus, fried eggplant, cucumber, lentil and had tatziki and tahini as sauces. The bowls were quite filling and delicious. The fries were warm crunchy and the rosemary flavor comes through nicely. Not much of a beer drinker but my date liked it fine. read more

We just used Otto for our wedding catering (June 2024) and it was a wonderful experience. First off, when we met with Ali in person for the tasting a year prior, he was the consummate professional. He sat with us to go through all of our options, was very well prepared, and had great attention to detail. We felt very comfortable that everything would go smoothly on the day of the wedding. And I am burying the headline here when I say that the food was INCREDIBLE. So many of our wedding guests commented on how good the food was. It's a great option to provide both veg and non-veg options and will keep everyone happy. He also can provide bartenders, ice, alcohol (he provides wine, or you can buy your own), and is very adaptable to what you want. Great group of guys here, the nicest ever!! Pretty good prices in relation to the portion sizes of their dishes. All I knew is that I was in the mood for a wrap with beef or chicken doner (I like Falafel too but not today). After taking too long making up my mind I ended up chosing the Beef Donor option and had Ollie custom make my wrap. I asked for it spicy and told him to go to town with his own creation. In conclusion, I ended up with a tasty beef wrap topped with sumac onions, rosemary fries, red cabbage salad, fried eggplant and a perfect mix of Otto's tzatzki and arabesk hot sauce. The wraps looks matched it's flavor. The exterior/interiors of the building are clean. Covid practices are in place but I would prefer to see more glove changes when handling the food vs the phones vs the iPads vs my credit card. Ordered the Ottobun and Rosemary fries for carry out. I appreciated how they had set aside my drink and fries ahead of time but waited until I arrived to assemble my sandwich so that it wouldn't get too soggy. My fries were a bit soggy but were very tasty. I thought the pita bread had great texture and enjoyed how the flavors of the toppings went together. The price for the amount and quality of food was great. However, I thought that the chicken could have used more flavor because it felt overpowered by the pickles and other toppings. read more

I ordered a falafel pita sandwich with eggplant, cabbage, onion, hummus and ezme; and my co-eater got the chicken version, but with rosemary fries in place of the cabbage. Next time I'm getting the rosemary fries instead of the onion. Stunning and lovely - the balanced flavors that all of the "condiments" lent to the bite were an aria.
