No seriously... if you're considering eating here PLEASE do it!!! The food is so amazing I took a bite and my jaw dropped. I ordered the beef doner bowl with all the toppings and am so glad I did. The beef was well seasoned and delicious, and every individual topping had its own flavor but mixed together so well. The fries had a great seasoning as well and the mosaic cake for desert was rich and so delicious. My boyfriend had the chicken doner bowl, and the beef was a 8/10 but the chicken was a solid 10. Everything we had was so delicious and Im already excited for the next time I get to eat here!!! read more

So happy to have finally stop in to Otto's to try out their food after walking by multiple times when recently visiting the downtown mall. With the Build Your Own Bowl option you can fill up on their many delicious salads/sides. I opted for the falafel as my protein option and it was delicious. The sides were healthy and filling, without the heavy feeling. My favorites were the beet salad, cabbage slaw, and fried eggplant. Service was excellent too! Otto never let's me down! The food is always so fresh and the staff is always so helpful and kind. The owner is so generous and friendly! I added feta to my pita sandwich which is a dollar up charge. I would pay 20 dollars because it is literally the best feta I have ever had in my life! It was a beautiful warm Sunday during my last visit and the windows were open and the dining room was so welcoming and clean. I love the cute cat pictures on the wall. I ordered a falafel pita sandwich with eggplant, cabbage, onion, hummus and ezme; and my co-eater got the chicken version, but with rosemary fries in place of the cabbage. Next time I'm getting the rosemary fries instead of the onion. Stunning and lovely - the balanced flavors that all of the "condiments" lent to the bite were an aria. My mouth is watering thinking about it. We also got an order of hummus and pita- the hummus was very large the size of a store container - it was delicious but a little light on the salt and lemon. This place is AMAZING. I have gotten the chicken bowl here with almost all the fixings. Highly recommend to get extra fried eggplant and the celery dip. I believe you can get two sauces so I opted for the tzaziki and hot sauce for a kick. They give big portions, and the flavor is dynamite. Worth a diet day off. The pita bread was amazing and so were the sauces. A great place to stop while in the road.

I went to Otto chasing the magic of the doner kebab I had years ago in Germany -- the gyro-like shaved rotisserie meat and that amazing, addictive sauce. I didn't find that in the food I picked up from Otto. But happily, what I did find was flat-out delicious. It was hard to feel disappointed by Otto's doner sandwich, with well-seasoned ribbons of beef nestled in a commendably sturdy, pillowy, homemade-tasting pita. The fillings I chose -- sumac onions, pickles, and hummus, plus tzaziki sauce and hot sauce -- threw my mouth a raging flavor party. And even after a half-hour car ride, the rosemary fries were super tasty. I'll keep searching for that elusive doner high. But with any luck, I'll get back to Otto soon for more of their brand of doner deliciousness. read more

Awesome falafel is freshly fried, crispy on the outside, and tender inside--theirs is none of those things. Love the food here! The service is always fantastic. I've had the sandwich, wrap, and bowl. The bowl is great if you're really hungry but because I have a smaller appetite, I generally order the sandwich. I've never had the falafel but between the beef and the chicken, I definitely prefer the beef. I always get all the add-ons with tzatski sauce. Not a fan of soggy fries so I always ask for the fries to be on the side. All of the add-ons just seem to go together really well so you don't really need to worry too much about what you want to add. The wrap seems to use a tortilla that's most likely store bought but the pita is made in house and is delicious (another reason I prefer the sandwich). Service has always been really good. The workers are friendly and eager to help. The first time I went, they patiently answered all my questions and accommodated my requests. Overall, I highly recommend trying the food here! The location they're at has had a pretty high turnover so I really hope this restaurant sticks. read more

Exciting to have fresh doner available here in C'ville! We stopped in this weekend planning to pick up but the seating inside was spacious and social distancing enforced so we grabbed a table for our family of 5. We tried a couple of the bowls and one of the wraps. Everything was a hit but my personal favorite item was the grilled eggplant. Of the protein choices I liked the fresh falafel best, but the beef and chicken were also very tasty. You are free to add as many toppings as you'd like - and I would highly recommend you do yourself and favor and pile on those crispy, salty rosemary fries! I've devoured 4 of their pita wraps/ sandwiches ands it's just absolutely phenomenal. I will have to take a photo next time I order because for 10$, you are given a decent portion size. It's just bursting with so much flavor and as someone who usually Doesnt like pickled foods, the pickled toppings were so satisfying for my tastebuds. Now I will say, the pickled taste sometimes does overpower the other flavors of the sandwich, but even then, I still yearn for another bite after just getting a mouthful of pickles and onions. Also the addition of fries IN the sandwich(it's absolutely life changing)just seals the deal. Bit of a misnomer to say street food when it's inside but hey it's still great Turkish food! Only three choices - pita, wrap and bowl with prices increasing for each (and I expect the amount of food). After you select that, pick your "mean" - doner style steak, doner style chicken or falafel. Last you get to pick what else goes on it and they have LOTS of options I won't even try to list them all... Wife really just wanted a salad so we ordered the bowl with chicken and all options (except beets we don't like them) along with extra tzatiki sauce ... It may not have been exactly a salad but it sure was close and huge! They do sell a variety of other items including fries (seemed popular as I saw other customers ordering it), extra pitas, baklava, and a "mosaic cake" (don't know). Additionally there were many drink options. I FYI - it's not directly on the Downtown Mall just up the hill so pay attention to a sign they put out when they open....it's worth it! I did hear from others in our C'Ville visit that this place is really popular!! 5 stars in Yelp? I'm not exactly sure what took me so long to get here. Maybe it's the location? Maybe, the no outdoor seating even though its proximity to the Downtown Mall. Well... All that has changed. I stopped in on their first birthday last Saturday. Having never been there, I walked in asking for recommendations. They gave me a quick rundown of the restaurant and then suggested the Ottobun, a wonderful pita that I choose to get with beef doner. The Ottobun includes Hummus, Ezme, Red Cabbage, Sumac Onions, Pickled Cucumbers, and Tzatziki. So good and so filling... I sampled their fries, and they were on point. Being their birthday they were offering 40% off all beer and wine. They don't have anything on tap, but I was able to score a can of 6th Lord from Basic City. In addition to that they were offering a free dessert. I got a slice of the Mosaic cake...OMG, so good... Think dense brownie texture but a hint of coconut and other items. Ended up taking the food down to the mall and scored a table there. Otto's is now in my normal rotation! read more
