I love all their pizzas with pineapple on it. Best Vegan pizza I've ever had. Their ingredients are very fresh. Their staff is nice and the service was very good read more

Casual restaurant and a great addition to Coolidge corner. I thought the pizza ok. Otto has it's own uniqueness compared to Uppercrust across the street. This place offers a more sit down/catch up with friends type of atmosphere while Uppercrust is a quick dine-in/take-out pizza place. I tried the Baby Spinach, Chicken and Asiago and the Spicy Pulled Pork with Scallion and Herb. These two pizzas were on the extreme two ends of the spectrum. The Chicken on the first pizza was a little bland and overall the pizza was just alright - I barely tasted the Asiago cheese. I liked the Spicy Pulled Pork pizza better but the flavors were very intense. I think I will probably try a simple pizza when I return next time. Overall I prefer Uppercrust over Otto for the pizza but I would come here with a friend for the atmosphere. read more

Best pizza place in brookline. I was surprised at some of the combinations they had on their pizzas. The pizzas here are different from your usual pizzas. It's a thin crust pizza and they serve it in two sizes, large and small. I think a small is enough for 1 person. The pizza I would recommend is the pulled pork and mango pizza. It seems like a weird combination but it was so delicious. The other pizza I tried was the mashed potato, bacon and scallion. A good ol' bacon pizza always taste good but the pulled pork and mango pizza just seems to top it off. The hostess and waitress was really nice to us. They originally said the wait was 20 minutes but they were able to get a table in 5 minutes for my friend and I. I was really impressed on how fast we got seated. I would definitely recommend this place if you're in the mood for thin crust pizza. read more

I'm such a creature of habit when it comes to pizza, that this was a bit of a let down. I like thicker crusts, melting cheese, and big chunks of toppings on my pizza. The pizza here was completely the opposite of that! Thin crust, barely any cheese, and thinly sliced toppings graced my table as I enjoyed the Otto Root Beer I had ordered. My heart sank when I saw it! We ordered three large pizzas for three adults, one teenager, and two toddlers. I ended up eating an entire pizza on my own. Robert polished off about 4 slices while ditching the crusts on my plate. Sandra had been saying that this was her favorite pizza place in the area, and I was dissatisfied by the pizza here. I'd have much rather spent $25 for some Seniores in SF, than $80 for Otto's. The Pulled Pork Mango pizza was all right. It looked like a fancy was to do a Hawaiian style pizza, but the seasoning on the pork lost me. It tasted like curry pork with pineapple (mango). I only had one slice of this one. The pepperoni was for the kids, and Robert didn't like it. It was the regular greasy pepperoni withe a little cheese, and the same thin, flat bread crust. I had two slices of this, after the sausage and onion ran out. The sausage and onion was the best of the three we got, but that doesn't say very much. I pretty much ate the entire pizza because it was so small. Also, they do not even have any Parmesan cheese! They offered something else that's not parmesan for $1.50 more! Services was good, though. The waitress kept refilling our waters and sodas. She returned to ask if more beer was needed before glasses were empty, and she brought back more napkins before we ran out! By the time we were ready to leave, the place was packed with a line out the door. read more

30 min later, still waiting for my "ready in 15 min" to go order. Tables that came in after me got pizza, so did to go orders placed after me. No apology or explanation, just "it's coming". I guess I should expected this from the look I got when I paid and didn't pre-tip. Pizza finally came. Lukewarm, so not just out of the oven, clearly. My recimendation: don't pay until after they make it. read more

I went to this place with a friend of mine and her sister last summer. we went to OTTO after seeing a film. Their serves were spot on, and their waiters were so friendly. I had their homemade Ice cream, which was divine. Their beers were a little bit bland, but it was ok. But it was their delicious cheese and peperone Pizza that was the true star of the dinner. Me and my friends were in heaven. OTTO's Pizza's were the talk of the evening. If you are In the Brookline area, go straight to this location. you will be pleased to eat here. read more

Well, there are already nearly 250 reviews on this restaurant, but heck, why not add my bit of insight on it...the pizza is delicious, authentic and it's no wonder why they've been in business as long as they have! Now go eat some pizza! read more

I heard of this place many times but it's always packed! I finally got the chance to check this place out! I went with a friend in the late afternoon ( no line, plenty of open tables ). Services was pretty attentive. We ended up getting the special ( a small size roasted pineapple with ricotta and herbs pizza, which has 6 slices ). Requested mushrooms toppings with it ( extra topping = extra $1 ). I really enjoyed this thin-crusted pizza. I definitely would come back for this. read more

Live in the area and always meant to check it out. Very happy to find they have great pizza and great beer! Special thank you to the bartender Michael (B?). We came in as a group and he took phenomenal care of us. We never had an empty glass or empty plate for more than a minute or two. Truly exceptional service, I'll make sure to keep coming back read more

I've been going to Otto's for years in Portland, so I was extremely excited when they opened up some new locations down here in Boston. I recently went to the location in Coolidge Corner, which is actually very small and kind of cramped, but overall conveniently located. We had a short wait upon arriving there, we got there around 7:30 and were seated by 8 easily. The only downside was that we got seated at a communal table, which meant that two more people sat down with us and we had to listen to their conversation. Kind of awkward. The pizza itself is amazing, I highly recommend the mashed potato pizza and the cranberry, ricotta, and butternut squash pizza. Although the latter sounds a bit weird, trust me, it's a party in your mouth and cranberries, butternut squash and ricotta are invited! The winter red sangria is also pretty good here. Not amazing, but it does have a few good flavors going on that are delicious. The pizza is a little on the pricey side and doesn't always reheat well, so I'd say go with the smaller pie, and eat all of it! read more

I stopped in one day out of curiosity. I enjoyed a slice of roasted red potato pizza. Unique to me and very enjoyable. The crust was thin and crisp the way I like it. The service attendants were all very helpful and did a good job of promoting the brand without being overbearing. This is certainly not the typical Italian-American Pizzaria but inn a way that is good. I'd certainly welcome a return engagement. read more

This is my regular spot around Coolidge Corner. I love their "spicy" pulled pork with mango; it sounds weird but it is super tasty. Butternut Squash & ricotta pizza is another good choice. Their crusts are thin and crispy. They just changed their menu a bit months ago, can't wait to try their desserts! I would dine on the bar if the waiting time is crazy. read more

Why you should not come here... 1. Snooty Male host very disrespectful 2. Canned beer ...Really? 3. NO parmigiano cheese...What!!!???!!! Waitress said owners don't like it. What happened to giving the customer what he/wants? 4. Takes 20 minutes plus to get a pizza. Did I mention this pizza parlor will not carry parmigiano cheese!!!!! Lame. read more

We have been there several times. Cool space, nice service, pleasant personnel, good pizza. A nice place to relax, eat and talk with family or friends. read more

bro, otto has the best pizzaz EVER. This place never disappoints. me, my wife's dog, and second cousin thrice removed come here weekly with our neighbors dog, skippy. skippy loves the spinach, kalamata olive and roasted garlic pizza with mikes hot honey. only complaint is that we have to bring our own Mikes Hot Honey™ because they dont specify if their hot honey is Mikes Hot Honey™ or not Mikes Hot Honey™. besides that, this restaurant is like a home to me. i was here when my first child was born, when my appendix burst, and when i realized i was gay. read more

I was so excited to try this place after its long anticipated opening. The transformation the space went under turned out beautifully. There is a chic, replaxed vibe with comfortable decor. The pizza was yummy. We tried the vidalia onion and sausage as well as the mushroom and herb with cheese of some sorts. The sausage and onion was definitely the winner. Our waitress was a little loopy. Attentive-ish but kind of dazed. She was also waiting on the table next to us and I saw her bring two beers over to the guys sitting and she couldn't figure out which one was which so they had to do a taste test to figure it out. Things like that drive me nuts -- not paying attention to details. That's where I'll knock a star off. Overall, great new spot to have in the area. It is really nice having an option other than Upper Crust. read more

My first visit to Otto's was a disaster. They hadn't cleaned the counter after the last person and the crust was way too thin. I figured I would give it second chance. The restaurant was cleaner the next time I went. Only reason, the place wasn't busy so the staff had time to clean between customers. The crust was thicker this time and it was the best part about the pizza. Sauce was okay, but cheese combination wasn't my cup of tea. Bottom line, absolutely give this place a shot, but it is on the pricey side. read more

The pizza may be heaven but the noise level is hell! I have tried to eat there several times. Their Pizza looks really great, and the place is very popular. (Read "always crowded.") I haven't eaten there because of the intolerably loud NOISE level!! read more

I'm a native New Yorker, and, after 5 years in Boston, this is the ONLY pizza place I trust. It's so fresh and deeeeelicious. I just wish they would do split pies here. That's the only reason this isn't 5 stars. read more

What a great Pizza!! Portland is putting Boston to shame with Otto. We had the butternut pizza and it was as others have said, really good! The crust was thin, but not thin crust. It wasn't greasy and all the toppings were used perfectly. Overall the perfect pizza! read more

Quality of food: NOT BAD Service: OK (make sure you count your change after the waitress). Cleanliness: VERY POOR ( make sure you wash your hands at home or have hand sanitizer with you because the bathroom has no water). The atmosphere: VERY LOUD read more

Loved the casual atmosphere and interior design. Wait staff was very friendly and patient with us. Pizza was affordable...yet really not good. Looked like they made the pizza hours ago and it tasted like it too. Also would be nice if they didn't use paper plates for Eco-friendly reasons :) read more

I haven't been there in a while but the last time I ordered pizza it was a delivery to job - the pizza I received was cold I called them and they made me another one this time was hot recommend anytime good customer service read more

Sad to see Otto's quality slide lower and lower each year. I recently picked up a small chicken basil pizza there, but it was lacking so much in both the "sauce" + "cheese" department, that it could barely be called a pizza.:/ More like a very dry overly cooked flatbread with some flavorless chicken on it. Hope they improve back to the level they were at when they opened a few years back. read more

Been here many times now, but always a good experience. There can be a wait, but it's worth it. The pizza combos are creative and delicious. I've enjoyed the mashed potato pizza and the pulled pork and mango pizza in particular. There's a nice atmosphere inside and there's ample window space to people watch outside if you are near the wall. It's also awesome that you can take slices to go. Definitely worth a try if you are in the area and don't forget to look up for a special surprise :) read more

I went back with friends for dinner, so I am writing a second review. I am not able to express how much we all enjoyed the food, service and atmosphere. My last review I stated that the service needed polishing. It seems as if all is cleaned up. Otto's Pizza is one of my favorite restaurants in the city. Food amazing, service perfect (we had a two year old and waiter was nothing but great with her!) and place was full. Expect a wait (this is a good thing, means good place). Bar area is smaller but nice and worth it. Can sit and have a slice or drink and Coolidge Corner people watch out the window. Go and try. I don't think you will be disappointed. I am happy they are 3 blocks from my home. :) read more

Been dying to try Otto after hearing great reviews from friends and co-workers. Finally went last night and it was great! There were so many combinations that I wanted to try but unfortunately you can't get slices for dinner when you're eating there. So I settled on the Ricotta, Eggplant and Basil red pizza and it was delicious. Great combination of flavors that worked well together. I got a small pizza and it came with 6 generous sized slices. My friends split the mushroom and ricotta white pizza, and although they liked it, they wished theirs came with red sauce on it. It was pretty crowded for 6PM on a Sunday and while we didn't have to wait to be seated, we waited a good 25 minutes for our pizzas. It's nice to have an other option of there than Upper Crust since I think UC is overrated and has questionable business morals. All and all, we had a very nice meal and I will definitely be going back! read more

Love the atmosphere and delicious pizza. The service needs to be a little bit more attentive!! We waited way too long for a small pizza and 3 slices -- and then in the meantime were delivered 2 other people's food...and this was before they were busy...I guess if you are with good company things like that don't bother you, however, we were both WAY too hungry by the time the pizzas arrived. read more

Yum, yum, yum, yum, yum. Pizza is delicious! We've dined in and had take-out...both have been excellent. The atmosphere in the restaurant is great, servers are friendly, they accommodated us as a walk in, with a big ole' stroller. Tried a bunch of the different pizzas and we were never disappointed. My favorite place for dinner in Coolidge Corner, hands down. Usually, a large pie is too much for my wife & me... But at Otto's, it all gets eaten. You can't go wrong on selection, though my wife and I LOVE (#14) White Bean, Roasted Tomato, Herb, Red Flake. read more

From her: I've heard a lot of good things about this restaurant, even fro people who have eaten there so it must be inconsistent. The two pizzas delivered to our table had undercooked crust, were overly greasy and cheesy. We saw a pie at the next table with a nicely browned crust, so they're even inconsistent between persons. Next time I will go to Upper Crust across the street. From him: This was my second visit, her first. Both times I had the roasted cauliflower and mushroom pizza. Fantastic the first time, but a bit over-mozzarella this time. I seem to recall last time it had parmesan sprinkled, instead of melted mozzarella. Maybe not. Either way, it wasn't as good the second time. So for me, they're batting .500, well worthy of another visit. For her, not. read more

Otto is currently my favorite pizza place in Brookline & Boston. While I usually get take-out or delivery, sitting down to eat at the restaurant is always nice because their service is fast and they have a decent craft beer list. But Otto is also a great choice for a midweek meal when you don't have the energy to cook. The first time I ate Otto it was love at first bite. Their tomato sauce is AMAZING -- I repeat -- AMAZING! The crust is tasty and far from bland (a common problem I encounter), and they use the perfect amount of very flavorful cheese. You can tell they use high quality ingredients for everything. If you go here, definitely try a red pizza; the only complaints I've heard (and those were barely complains -- certain persons merely called the pizza "ok") have been from people who went with a white pizza or the margherita instead of a red pizza. Don't get me wrong -- all the pizzas are great, but the red pizzas are far superior from the rest. The cheese, chicken and basil, and salami and green onions pizzas are my favorites. Be careful though -- this stuff is highly addictive. read more

Otto's is pizza 2.0 that is very different from Upoer Crust across the street: it's artisanal cheeses and organic ingredients. It's ingredients in balance and harmony dressed on the crust, not slathered on for volume. It's a wonderful blend of tastes as you move across the slice. And at long last a restaurant that doesn't over cook eggplant into a tasteless mush! Service is very good, and the ambience is pizza perfect! read more

I went to OTTO during a day trip to Boston. I had heard great things about OTTO, so I decided to give it a try. It definitely lived up to its name. I had a pizza with Sausage and Ricotta, Both ingredients were VERY flavorful and exquisite. I also had the homemade Arnold Palmer, which was lacking flavor, it could've been sweeter and stronger. I extremely recommend OTTO to anyone craving delicious and fresh pizza in the Boston area. read more

My favorite pizza place around for sure. Their choices are interesting and not your typical options. Never had a bad slice from here. I will drive well out of my way to go to an Otto's over any other pizza place. Good beer options as well, great vibe if you are coming to chill at the bar or out on a date. Great Job Otto's. Warning - it's always busy, you may have to wait! read more

Ordered pizza and salad. Extremely expensive Pizza came burnt and salad without dressing. I contacted the place to rectify the issue. I wanted either a new pizza and some salad dressing or a refund. I gave them a chance to make things right waiting a full day before writing this but I was ignored! Bad food, bad customer service don't make for a good place. read more

We ordered a build your own pizza with goat cheese, onion, and arugula on top, being sure to specify that the onions were cooked. They did not have the goat cheese, and the pizza showed up with COOKED salad (not sure it was arugula) and almost raw white onions. When we asked the waiter why the salad was cooked, he curtly offered to bring a bowl of more fresh salad to put on top. The pizza was greasy and frankly made me feel ill. I get that this isn't supposed to be a gourmet pizza joint, but I've had cafeteria pizza that was better (and the lunch ladies were more service oriented to boot). read more

Great New York style, thin crust pizza. Always perfectly made with great toppings available for whatever you desire. Great service and friendly staff. The prices are reasonable.
