    85) Steak Bomb -- i.e. the New England version of a Philly Cheesesteak. - A sandwich featuring a hoagie bun filled with cooked ground beef, chopped vegetables such as onions and peppers, and sauce. The sandwich is partially wrapped in aluminum foil and placed on a wooden surface.

The sandwich is as massive as it looks!!! My partner and I order from Milano once a week--it's become our neighborhood favorite. The person at the front-of-house is always so kind and helpful, and the food is consistently delicious and comparatively very affordable!

I've been having a hankering for pizza recently these last couple of weeks, and was told by several others that this is a nice hidden gem to try out. The location is right on the Brookline/Brighton town line, and right between the Boston College and Boston university campuses. Parking is nonexistent if you plan to come and eat here, however, there is a Whole Foods parking lot just on the other side of the street. Now I'm not recommending you park there, as there are signs that say parking is for WholeFoods customers only, but if you are trying to just run in and grab your pizza.....(Again not condoning anything with regards to illegal parking) If you come before 5 PM, there are a lot of specials you can buy, such as two large cheese pizzas and a 2 liter Coke for $25, a pasta, pizza, soda, combination, and quite a few other options . I came past five, so I didn't get the special, which was fine, because I was actually interested specifically for two specialty pizzas. This is a family owned and operated establishment. The young lady who took my order, was very kind, and going over some of their specialties, and being that this was my first time here, she was very helpful in giving suggestions of what is popular here. lol I ordered the beef taco pizza and the Al Pacino. Being that I I had walked in, and did not order ahead by phone, I had to wait 20 minutes, which was fine. The Pizza was good, and the dough was a nice and even, with a crunchy bottom. I did wish that there was a little more topping on both pizzas, as there just seemed to be a lot of bare spots and really seemed lightly topped. If I do come back, I would be coming before 5pm to take advantage of the specials.

As I was on break during filming for my new movie I thought I would try to have dinner at the local pizza restaurant Milano . I was surprised because it tasted as good as the food in Parma Italy. Certainly the service was the best. It was actually better than a five star restaurant. The place is family owned I like that. The food and prices were perfect. The service even better. A beautiful girl at the counter and her younger sister cooking while their father watched over them perfection !

Delivery took a little longer than expected given distance from the location, but super satisfied with the outcome! MIT sub - chicken, mozz sticks, fries, marinara, & melted mozz cheese - was GIANT and really good (although how could it not be, you read those ingredients!). Small Chicken Parm Pizza was good as well - for $13 the two of us got 2 meals out of it - well worth it. Sizable pie and slices!

Fantastic little pizza place. Their calzones are to die for! Can sometimes take a bit longer than expected around dinner time but in my opinion it's totally worth it. Great staff too, super sweet!

Stopped in based on the overwhelmingly positive reviews on Yelp. Showed up around 7pm on a Sunday…read moreand it was near capacity but we were able to be seated right away. The dining room is fairly small with some bar seating available as well. It was clean and bright. It took about 7 mins for the server to come over and she lead with "are you ready to order?" I guess simple pleasantries are useless anyway. We knew our drinks and appetizers order but not what we wanted for pizza yet so we ordered those and told her we'd order pizzas when the apps and drinks came. She came back about 3 minutes later and asked if we were ready to order yet. Feeling pressured, we ordered thinking that perhaps they close soon (not the case). The bartender delivered our drinks a few minutes later and about 5 mins after that both the appetizers and pizza arrived at the same time. Besides the fact that our table wasn't large enough to accommodate all that food and drink, it was never our intention to eat our appetizers with our meal. The good news is that the food was hot, fresh and tasty. The potato bombs were excellent. Crispy home fry like potatoes and the peppers had a nice heat. I would love to try the popper version next time. The pizzas were good too, but be prepared for floppy and slightly under done base crust but a perfectly charred edge crust. I find many wood fired pizza to come this way but I did see other reviews mention this as a negative. The bill comes in a small ball jar with a delicious rice crispy treat. While the jar worked it must have made it hard to see that I dropped my credit card in it, so after the waitress walked by a few times I removed the card and made it visible on the table. When the tab came to sign I was not given a pen. I should have walked out and just let them charge me for just the tab but I cannot stiff waitstaff, even when it's poor service. My only hope is that it was the waitress's first day and she somehow figures out the typical cadence and procedure involved in waiting tables. Food was a solid 4 but service was a 2 so I landed on a 3. I would definitely go back hoping for a better server.

Why fix something simple when it ain't broken? Sometimes places can fall into the trap of trying to do too much. Prairie Fire is one of the few that can walk that tightrope, offering a raw bar, pizzas, pastas, a burger, seafood, and more. But everything we tried was delicious. I had an eye on so much on the menu but we ultimately went with the razor clam ceviche from the raw bar, a pepperoni pizza, the Maine lobster ravioli, and the mushroom toast (a crowd favorite). My favorites were the ceviche and the mushroom toast - do not skip it. The mushrooms are cooked perfectly and they slather a layer of parmesan aioli on the bread that cooks into it. Amazing. One of my best bites of 2025. Pepperoni pizza was pretty good but I still prefer the Neapolitan style. Have to come back to try so many other things - the Maine uni toast, the burger, the trout. The sourdough ice cream was a super unique dessert. They take the leftover butts of loaves and soak it in milk/cream and the result is almost like a less sweet salted caramel. Loved the textural addition of the poached pear. We were lucky to come around 5 on a weekend evening and snag some of the remaining bar seats but when we left, the place was completely full. Come early or get a reservation! Parking can be tough in Coolidge Corner; I recommend seeing if you can get a spot in Webster parking lot at the back of the restaurant.

Parking is limited to about (6) 1 hour spots a block ahead of and in front of the door. Same posters, same menu. Prices have creeped up, but the portions are worth it and, as a parent of two now, quite shareable (unless you are the 2008 version of me). You may eat in, but unfortunately, alcohol is not provided here and you can't BYOB. And so, take out is a popular choice. Now for the real question. What does Shaina order at this venue after a decade? My personal favorite: Puttanesca with homemade fusilli. Why? Because despite living in a region of Greater Boston where Italian restaurants are fruitful, people don't serve Puttanesca! Literally can't find it in the four Italian restaurants near my south shore home. Only other place that I can order this same dish is Vinny's at Night in Somerville. Folks love their fra diavolo, but Puttanesca gives that same heat with the bonus of salty kalamata, capers, and a touch of anchovies melted in. And, guess what? Tasted the same as it had 13 years ago. Amazing! Don't get me wrong, they have many more offerings that I've been dying to try. There's pizza, garlic bread with and without cheese, mini arancini; they have sandwiches, too. They even have four (or maybe it was 5) options for risotto. And for proteins, there is calamari, shrimp, chicken, beef, and sausages. I just can't stop ordering this puttanesca dish and it fills me too much to have room for a variety order.

All this for $30! If you and your friends are in more of a nibbling mood, this is a fine option. Other great things we ordered: 1. Half chicken Milanese - I loved the layer of greens and creme on top, makes for a beautiful presentation. That said, this dish is best eaten right there at the table when it's hot and crispy. I had some for leftovers the day after and the texture definitely wilted. 2. Duck bacon pizza - can't go wrong with duck bacon but it's pretty rich and indulgent and, while I love pizza, one slice of this was enough. Next time, I'd try the pepperoni and vodka pie, which our waitress was super enthusiastic about. 3. Swiss chard Caesar salad - love that they add fish roe on top for an unexpected burst of flavor and saltiness. 4. Rigatoni - sauce had a lot of depth to it but very, very salty. 5. Cacio e pepe arancini - we ate this so quickly that I didn't have time to snap a photo. Dessert was soft serve, they're very generous with the portion. The layout of the restaurant is a little funny - when you come in, the host stand is in an empty space with the pizza oven right behind it, and then you walk a little further back into the actual bar/restaurant area. It's a pretty casual sit-down place, with both families and office dinners happening. Lots of street parking outside.

I ordered a Slice of Cheese Pizza ($4.67 plus tax) and a Ziti Chicken Broccoli Alfredo Dinner ($13 plus tax) with garlic bread. I enjoyed the big slice of cheese pizza in the shop, which was heated up in the oven. The slice had a thin firm crust topped with tomato sauce and melted browned cheese, crunchy edge crust. I folded the big pizza slice and enjoyed it. The cheese had a slightly sour flavor, though. My Chicken Broccoli Penne was ready and bagged in about 20 minutes after ordering. The good portion of Chicken Broccoli Penne was very hot, baked in a rectangular aluminum container with al dente penne, tender grilled chicken strips, soft broccoli pieces in a creamy alfredo sauce and topped with melted mozzarella cheese. The baked buttered garlic bread (from sub rolls) was very firm and chewy. Overall, the food here was pretty good. I would probably order the Ziti Chicken Broccoli Alfredo again, but as a whole pizza next time, their Chicken Broccoli & Ziti Pizza.
